Wow, hard to believe Byun even held on that long against such an onslaught, despite going up against Serral's huge bank. Terran is really efficient in the right hands.

No Nukes, no Vikings not enough drops (widow mine drops) Byun is to stubborn when it comes to this phase of the game. Serral played it really well. Best Brood Lord control.
The lack of harass in late game was what cost him this win.

it is actually a lie. while friendly fire definetly did something, the broodlords actually did the bulk of the damage. Serral had them almost fully upgraded and if you pay attention you can see that the broodlings landing did more dmg than the siege tanks friendly firering.

So entertaining watching these 2 guys play. I like Serral a bit more, but just look at Byun, what a brilliant play. I think these 2, while being tense, are having a great time playing with each other - it is particularly hard to find a proper opponent to spar with for people as high level as these 2.

Byun squeezed a lot of value out of his army, but he gave up strategic control to Serral.
I've been noticing in Byun's games is that it feels like his defining quality is stubbornness, but in a way that also makes him incredibly persevering. Somewhat inflexible, but by god, he will hold on as long as possible.
SO GLAD to finally see defensive tank and PF positioning.

This LNG Comp reminds me of 2022 worlds finals between T1 and DRX like, okay this is a crucial do or die game 5 so lets draft a poke team against a peel w/ scaling carry team, surely this wouldn't drag long enough for the scaling carry to scale and our poke won't be enough against a peel comp.
people kept saying that terran and protoss is OP, may i remind you that 2 of the best starcraft 2 player right at this point is Zerg main

@@tigera6 he is the ONLY consistent zerg and has been for 3 years. other zergs have brief peaks but then fall off pretty quick.
@@darkphoenix00001 Sure, Serral is more consistent to reach the playoff than any other current SC2 players. But the Zerg dominance extend much further than that, had a Terran or Protoss won Blizzcon or IEM last year, none of this complain will be an issue.
Even this year, like 6 out of 9 winners of Global tournament are Zerg, which Serral won 2. Its one thing to say one guy carry a race and win everything, its another thing that race won with different players.
And I absolutely have no problem with that to be honest, no balance whining,

Keep your tanks unsieged a second too much and Serral just blows everything sky-high with the mass of hydra-bane that was hanging off to the side, or the one running interference at the bottom of the map.

Byun made a beginner strategic mistake. he should have never try to build a static defense across the map. that gives too much time Serral to react
If ByuN had spent the same minerals on Marines that he wasted on missile turrets, everything would've been very different. Marines may not be the best Brood Lord counter, but you can build 3 of them for each missile turret that was getting instakilled without doing anything.
And not one hellbat..... like having 4 would have solve and done more damage
Yeah, I think blueflame helion run by is effective to raid Zerg base as well. Sure they dont have the Mech upgrade, but can still 2 shot drone.
He has marines and ghosts, and he has some brood lords, why not stim forward and waste em, I don't get it.

He used amazing micro with those broodlords and lost almost none of them for a very long time...
1st stage defend,mid game defend,3rd stage broodlord,baneling, A move. Easy win.

terran with 25 workers and no bank vs a 60 worker zerg with 14k resource bank and still manages to turtles for ages. yup terran seems balanced
yeah it's ridiculous how workers don't seem to matter to terran. Also casters asked are broodlords bad, yup they are but what else you gonna build? paperlisks lol? Zerg end-game units suck. Serral did 30min of absolutely ridiculous back and forth spellcasting micro in this game and still was hard pressed to win. Meanwhile terran has ghosts, battlecruisers, thors, all friggin amazing end game units. Only good late game unit for zerg is a corrupter lol

Yep as Terran player battling these cladder Zerg mains, I can atest. What Dark, Serral etc could do is very dificult to replicate in the ladder.

Brood Lords aren't OP as they can be countered with air. Of course, you can easily throw in some corruptors or some hydras to counter that. Then again, the other player threw the game
@@chrispham6599 True! Like the other races, Zerg has major flaws that can be exploited. Zerg has weak late game units and needs to be up 1-2 bases on their Terran or Protoss opponents to even have a chance.

Though if people keep complaining, zerg is going to be nerfed even more, so good for me as a ladder terran player since not every Zerg is a serral. Lol Terran ftw!
@@Tonius126 Its as if having over double the workers uses up supply and you shouldn't have that many with a 14k bank
@@Tonius126 Somehow you mistaken that 14k banks give you more army supply. A bigger bank means shit if you are not trading against the opponent army, and it would only show the advatage AFTER Zerg is remax while Terran base is dried.
Serral has the bigger bank, but he was unwilling to trade inefficient into Terran army. Instead he went with the more efficient units, which take MORE time to build up and switch to. Stop saying its OP when you dont know SHIT about the game.

their broods usually get wiped though and they win with the transition to ground. very rare that broods are the ones that end the game given the tons of nerf because of Serral. Now Serral is back to get Zerg more nerfs
I watch really much Sc2 Pro- Replays and in my opinion Lurker tech dominates the late game for the most of the toptier zergs.

Tell me: Where was a big missplay by Serral? I cant see a really bad play out of him. These are the Godz of the Game! Byun didnt Haras him at the mid-late Game. Serral got free mining for so long. There is no reason for me that Byun can win this. He holds very very good but in the end it would be ridiculous if he wins.

Meanwhile serral is pushing with spores, casting fungals, stutter stepping with broods, healing with queens and using vipers while also flanking with banes and zerglings. WTF you mean BUYN had insane micro?

If anything Serral had more impressive micro towards the end. Stutter stepping Infestors and Broodlords, keeping Vipers safe/useful, and transfusing, all while having to keep up the hydra/ling harassment and the injections.
The real problem is that the tanks stayed sieged for so long after broods were shown. He kept killing ghosts through friendly fire.

In high level SC the APM is one of the most crucial resource that they have to manage. This is why runbys are so powerful. They take lot less attention to set up, than to defend them. Its a good way to tax the opponents APM before or during a critical fight.
It's a weird term the first time you hear it, but it's actually the best way to describe it. Players all have only so many APM they can make, and they have to figure out how they spend them. You can only "afford" so many actions in any given minute.

Serral is the best player in the world and plays with like 600 APM. Serral is not a fair representation of the balance of Zerg.
