I'm a big fan of The Lightning Seeds, and over the past two or three years have become a big fan of Terry Hall. But I've never been one to gain any knowledge of bands that I like, I just listen to the music and know virtually nothing about the members. However, I do notice the keyboard player and drummer from The Lightning Seeds are part of the band for Terry Hall here. I understand the collaboration between Terry Hall and Ian Broudie with this song, and the crossover aspects such as Hall providing vocals for the Lightning Seeds version, but I'm still a little surprised to see that The Lightning Seeds were very much contributing to Terry Hall's release of the song. I've never made up my mind on which version I like best. I think I just need to settle on the fact that both are fantastic, and it doesn't matter to try and put them into battle with one another. Rest in peace, Terry Hall.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that... The first time I heard it a few years ago, it was only 30 seconds of the chorus in a Rick Beato video presenting artists he produced, and it floored me... I hadn't heard such a killer chorus in a very very long time. I immediately looked it up and found it on UA-cam. And then uploaded it here with a newer remaster trying to make it sound good on cell phones and laptops too. In bigger systems it sounds great anyway. I'm a sound professional too and I tried to make it shine even more, and make Owen as known as possible to the listeners that appreciate good music. Thank you so much for your input.. 🙂

I like this very much. They have an eclectic sound. They remind me of several great bands of the 80’s and 90’s all mixed together. But very cleverly. I downloaded the iTunes version but yours has more meat to it.

And finally I de-mixed and then remixed the edited version because I thought the voice was too buried in the mix... Very emotional song...
