In the city of Valencia lies the City of Arts and Science. A series of remarkable futuristic buildings surrounded by water. I've wanted to shoot this location for a while now and I wasn't disappointed.
Come with me as I scout the location and then return before sunset and continue to photograph the scene through until the end of the Blue Hour.

This is absolutely FANTASTIC, Ralph. ( The video is superb and the shots are literally out of this world. In fact, for a while, I thought they really were!) LOL! Wish I had just half of your knowledge and expertise, but I don't think my Sony Nex 7 would accommodate neutral density filters for those long shots, and I'm getting along in years to consider getting a better camera. Anyway, I so thoroughly enjoy your tours into the world of photography, I'll have to satisfy myself with that. Thank you for taking us along.
Glad you enjoyed it Nancy, It is a very amazing place, definitely a bit out of this world. You can get filters that would fit your Nex 7 (I'm pretty sure anyway) and the later shots didn't use filters, just a solid tripod. Many thanks for watching and commenting

Thoroughly enjoyed that Ralph. I have taken many photographs in the City of Arts and Sciences Complex over the past few years and am always striving for that one unique standout image. Looks like I will be visiting for a few years yet ;-) On another note, I really enjoy your down to earth approach to photography and the way you present it in an honest fashion via the channel. Keep up the good work :-)
Glad you enjoyed it Michael, as with many 'well photographed' locations it's always going to be tricky to get a unique view and I certainly wasn't going to get one in just one visit. I was actually most pleased with my 5th image in the video as it's not the 'standard' composition (although I suspect it's far from unique). Some amazing shots, I think all of the ones you show are really nice, especially the last one with the green and blueish purple colours! I live so close to the City of Arts and Science, will have to photograph it one day.

The more colourful one was my favourite as well, both because of the colours and because the composition is just a bit different from the 'hero' shot. In fact, that one is going in my portfolio. That final shot, my word, you can really make out why it is called "Hemisphere" and it almost looks like and eye with an iris.

Beautiful. How do you calculate and set your exposures? Do you use the manual option or the other camera assist options? Plus, how to you determine the ND filter stop to use 1-10.. Do you have any video explaining these for landscape photography?
Hello Josh, glad you liked it. I do use manual exposure, pretty much all of the time. I do have some videos on these topics, some of them are older ones so the quality may not be as good as some of my later videos. Hi .. Thanks for the video and your explanation ,however when processed your white becomes purposeless than what is seen actually before you take the images
Hello, thanks for the comment, I'm not really sure what you mean about white becoming purposeless, but there will be a difference in the white balance between the video camera and the stills camera
