I was just thinking to myself that I often struggle with composition, and then I found this amazing video. Thank you for explaining your process of finding a potential photo, setting it up, composing, and balancing the elements. Extremely helpful!
Another great video. Just love your images and your commentary; you're so enjoyable to watch in action, reminds me of Peter Cook back in the day! Brilliant, thanks.
Roman you’re quickly becoming one of my favorite photographers on UA-cam. I love this style of video where you talk us through your process and what’s going on in your mind behind each scene. Also love the interviews, looking forward to seeing more of that as well. Thank you!
These videos always make me feel like I'm taking an outdoor photography class. How you talk to us and explain the shots you take is exceptional. Thank you for sharing your techniques and thoughts for your photographs. As always, looking forward to your next video. Thank you
Enjoyed the video Roman, always good to hear your thought process when shooting, even if you feel you don’t take your best pics when videoing the process
I was in Valencia in September as previously commented on another video of yours. I'm a 35mm guy and my favourite shots were taken in this city. The architecture, people and sunlight just about falls right in the afternoon and late summer eves for excellent photo ops. Valencia's Roussafa and Old Town were great for photos. I just wish I was there long enough to visit the beach and warehouse areas closer to the East.
I found this video to be particularly helpful. I really appreciate when you discuss the thought propose and what you are hoping to achieve. Very inspiring.
Hey Roman, so amazing to see you walking the same streets i did Yesterday. Valencia is such a great city! Hopefully i don't eat too much 😂😅. At 10:34 the palmtree coming out of this asphalt-desert got my attention. Greets Erik
Really enjoying the style of videos you’ve been putting out recently. I just got my first camera ever (xt-5) and am surprised at the relative ease it has been to take pleasing photos with. Then again, I’ve been watching you for a while and have learned quite a bit from you! Thanks for all you do, Roman.
I like this sort of video where it's simply(?) the photographer describing their thought process, versus those that have a sort of predetermined "lesson" (you know, "5 things PRO photographers do that YOU should do" 😉).
This style of video is really enjoyable to watch, and super informative as well. Gave me ideas for when I next go out shooting. Also makes me want to upgrade the X-S10 to an X-H2 😊
It's reassuring to hear another photographer express the difficulty of trying to convey what you're seeing with your eyes in the actual image. So often will you be in a space you KNOW would make a great photo, and even if it looks like your composition is just right, you get back to your computer and just feel deflated that you couldn't do it justice. Oh well, that's why we keep at it I guess. Hardest lesson to learn is that you can shoot for an entire day and only get a couple good-to-great images!
This reminds me of Ansel Adams who said that if you take a 1000 pictures, a couple will be better than the rest. That does not mean that these are good photographs.
You might like the XS20 with the PASM dial. Small with a grip. Older sensor and not weather sealed though. Seems like a few UA-camrs are starting to use it for their video instead of the XH2S since it does many of the same things much cheaper
I’m surprised that you didn’t shoot anything in the huge covered fruit and veg market which is really colourful and bright. It’s one of my favourite parts of Valencia. Maybe it’s not so busy in winter. I’ve only ever been in summertime when it’s a nice place to get out of the sun for half an hour. The inside of the railway station is also very impressive, decorated with sculpted oranges.
I've been there a couple times for food and shopping but I didn't shoot there apart from one shot. I don't like taking photos that close to people if im honest. I feel like an intruder
Hello Roman, I find it interesting what you are saying about the xt5 vs the xh2. You never said such a thing when you had the xt4, but did you feel the same? I am just asking because I’m looking to trade in my xt4 and I’m hesitating on giving up on the dial and trade it for the xh2…or even change system but I find Fuji cameras too cute to leave haha I was also considering the xs-20 but this is just because I do a lot more videos but I didn’t like it for photos when I tried it… too many cameras, not enough money 😂
even with the XT4 I never really used the top dials much. Instead I used the thumb scroll wheels. Also I had nothing to compare it to. I go through phases where I prefer one system over the other tbh. Give me 6 months and I will be back to top dials. id go for the XT5 tbh
Haha ok. Actually Erin uses the Xt5 and his videos are stunning, so it’s not the camera, it’s the user expertise at the end of the day. My only issue is that I need to see myself otherwise I’d have gone for it. Thanks for responding 😊
I bought your new book. First glance looks great. Can I ask if the lens focal lengths you mention in the zoom / prime chapters are geared towards apsc cameras rather than full frame ones? So when the book mentions 50mm, is that an actual 50mm Fuji lens. Might be obvious question but I'm a beginner.
Thank you so much! In general I now mention focal lengths at full frame terms now. Most people understand that and most don't shoot on APSC. Finally by mentioning full frame numbers, it's easier for people to convert that to their specific systems such as M43 or Medium Format.
These real time walk and shoots with commentary, whether it works or not, are really instructional on many levels. Thanks
Your comments while shooting are just brilliant!!! I'm learning a lot, really valuable, thank you ☺️ Amazing photos as always ❤

Love these kind of videos with your explanations while walking through the streets. So useful, thanks Roman!
This is my favourite series of your films. When you just walking around and show how to see places in different way 👌
I love the top dials of the XT-5, wouldn't want a camera without them anymore
I go through phases where I prefer one system over the other tbh. Give me 6 months and I will be back to top dials

It's an amazing video as always! I really like your channel and it is one of my favorites. Thank you for sharing such good content.
Eres mi mayor referente, me encantan todas tus fotos!!
I really enjoy your videos, thanks for putting the effort in!

Very cool. And Spain has a lot of interesting scenes for sure. Thanks for sharing.

This is truly good, man! Keep them coming! Very Informative!
I love these kind of videos ….🙋🏽♂️
Your videos are awesome Roman, thanks for teaching us all how be aware of the beauty that surrounds us on the daily
I love these types of videos and your photos.
I use the dials all the time, intuitive to me but each to their own. Oh for that sunlight and those shadows, happy days Roman.
I go through phases where I prefer one system over the other tbh. Give me 6 months and I will be back to top dials

Nice photos, lovely city
Excellent info, footage and shots 🎉
Thanks for sharing

Totally agree with your take on the H2. I have found that I much prefer the PASM dial and setup for most shooting. The T5 is fun.
This style of video is really enjoyable to watch, and super informative as well. Gave me ideas for when I next go out shooting. Also makes me want to upgrade the X-S10 to an X-H2 😊
Great video man! Enjoyed it a lot
I can’t lie you killed me at 19:26 🤣🤣🤣
Where is Andrei Dima colab or walkie talkie given ur in his hometown

Just been out in local town with my 33, normally only carry the 16-80 still undecided which I prefer
The POV camera angle looks really great....
This reminds me of Ansel Adams who said that if you take a 1000 pictures, a couple will be better than the rest. That does not mean that these are good photographs.
Good one, I like how you teach while walking around. Going to take more of that to my videos as well. What kind of mic are you using?
Love 50mm

it's nice but no weather sealing is a deal breaker for me
Did you ever consider the X-S20? Smaller size with X-H2 ergonomics. The cheapest of the lineup too
I was wondering if you use a chest mount for your videos? Or do you use a bag mount? I'm guessing you're using the DJI osmo 3?
Hi Roman. Love your videos. What are you using to record yourself on these walks?
I’m surprised that you didn’t shoot anything in the huge covered fruit and veg market which is really colourful and bright. It’s one of my favourite parts of Valencia. Can you go through the camera settings you use please ?
You make me want to experience Valencia, can you recommend a hotel?
what focal you are using 33 (eqv 50) or 50 (eq 75)??
Do you shoot in raw or do you shoot in a simulation? Love these kind of videos by the way 🙋♂️
only raw

Great video, what autofocus mode was used it didn’t look like single-point
it was zone mode
Thanks Roman
🔥
When you say 50mm do you mean a matching lens or really 50mm before the crop?
50mm full frame equivalent
50 on Crop...
