    Hi again Dimitri. Good to see you in your new wheels. The Subaru Outback Sport is great looking car and I hope you will get a long, faultless ownership of the vehicle. I can see your'e happy with it in the video. Good to see you have Android Auto wireless as standard amongst other things. I look forward to further updates and comments. Have fun and take care. Demetri, Nice review so far. However (isn't there always a however) I don't think you are comparing apples with apples. You can only compare the subywoo to the H6 Ultra which is AWD with a RRP of 41000. That's 10 thousand dollars less for a vehicle with more spec and 2 years more warranty. Once again I agree that the H6, at the moment, is a drive it into the ground option. People used to ridicule Hyundai and Kia yet look what they have done. I agree the early GW vehicles were like the early Hyundai and Kia, pretty ordinary. I have had my H6 now for just on 2 years. Apart from a couple of annoying software issues (ELK and ACC) I love it (not sponsored). Another consideration is buyer age. I'm just about to retire, I've moved away from a manual car (I40 tourer) to an automatic. I've moved to a car that's easier to get into and has more safety and warning systems. My insurance is cheaper because the car cost less and I have fixed price servicing (does Subaru?). I'm not slagging of at your choice I'm just saying that the H6 is a great price, for return, vehicle and I am seeing more and more of them around Bendigo (where I live). It's personal preference in the end. Keep on posting !!! Cheers mate :-)

    • @ValueCarsAU
      @ValueCarsAU  7 місяців тому +3

      I don't think I'm doing any hard comparisons with H6 here mate. I mention depreciation and I still stand by it - Chinese cars will be worth half of what Japanese will cost in 5 years of ownership. H6 is a good car, if you drive it into the ground. You're right that the choice is also age-dependent, and that would create a completely different level of depth to the comparison - which, once again, this video is not trying to be. It's just a likes and dislikes of an Outback, and a brief reason why I bought it.

    Great review mate. Very informative to get an owner's opinion.
    I need a vehicle that can handle beach and National Park trails into camping sites. I've always liked the Outback but have never been confident enough that they would handle the relatively light weight off roading I do.
    I'd be very interested to see what you think if you do take it off road.

    Nice review Dimitri. I agree about the look of the current Outback, with all the black cladding and the ground clearance, it makes the vehicle look and feel rugged with that slight edge for off-road use. I love it, and I think the Aussie version looks the best with the front design and circular fog lamps (compared the earlier USA version with rectangular lamps). I have the 2022 model, and it’s missing wireless CarPlay, but I believe I could get a Bluetooth adapter box to fix that.
    About the economy, around town it is a bit on the thirsty side, but when I took the Outback on a ~300km country trip, it easily exceeded the stated country mileage - by the end I was getting ~7L/100km (!), which is about 41mpg in the old money. So on long highway driving, the economy jumps through the roof.

    • @ValueCarsAU
      @ValueCarsAU  7 місяців тому +2

      Thanks mate, yes the economy goes way up (for any car?) once you get on a highway and out of the stop-start driving mode between all the streetlights.

    • @127Foxtrot
      @127Foxtrot 7 місяців тому

      @@ValueCarsAUYes, very true. The 2022 Outback is my 4th (consecutive) Subaru, my previous one was a 2004 Liberty sedan (2.5L NA) and the best I got out of it was around 37mpg on the same country trip. So I was very surprised to find the 2022 Outback did quite bit better mpg, even though its much bigger, more outfitted, and 260kg heavier than my previous Liberty sedan. I guess 20 years of mechanical/engine improvements is the difference.

    About the CVT a friendly advise, service it every 45-48000 kms. Change the CVT transmission fluid ONLY with Subaru original fluid. Do it like that and it will last forever. Also this applies to the differentials. You also have to service them every 45-48K.

    Well done and gz with your purchase. Regarding fuel consumption: once u run in vehicle on mix driving u’ll be sitting on 7 - 7.4L / 100km on unleaded …bit less on premium fules, personally first 10k km I was using 98 premium fuel only …. With start/stop engine -quick fix - not sure if it works on new vehicles - switch on front demister, switch off A/C, put lowest fan speed and that’s stays in vehicle memory …. And of course if u use climate control - it resets this quick fix …. Anyway works for me most of the year…

    Hi, welcome to Subaru Outback Sport Club. It is a very nice car spacious and reliable. I know you like to drive the car yourself instead of relying on modern technology, but try the eyesight system, it is so easy to use. A click on the steering wheel button, the car starts to drive safely. This system is better than Toyota, and can compare to high end Mercedes. You paid for it, use it. I use it everyday everywhere everytime. A1, A3, it makes your life easier. Cheers

    Bravo with your choice and colour Demitri. It is also reassuring that Subaru for many years are the number one motoring company in Australia with great after sales service and God forbid if you need, fix it quick and or replace anything that goes wrong. Several people have even reported just after warranty expires, Subaru comes to the rescue and fixes any issue. That has to be a great mention.
    How is the quality of sound when it comes to the media centre?
    Is there a generous amount of bass and clarity in mid range to high frequencies?
    I also would like a report on the interior space as you mentioned about placing a mattress. As a drummer, I need to carry two pieces of stage, one metre x two metres on top of my electric drums and speakers. I have a trailer but would like to carry in the back or probably on the roof for the stage.
    Are there any Russian strip-downs of this ? I would love a translation.
    You make a good valid point when you mentioned about the small gap of Chinese to Superior Japanese Subaru's.
    The rugged looks creates a nice reflection of your personality requirements and will hold a blend of muscle with elegance for many years to come.
    Looking forward to a report on a road trip and in 30,000 klms.
    Let us know how Subaru treat you as well.

It feels like it has A LOT of interior space, but it's hard for me to visualise how "tall" your setup of drums etc is to be able to fit in nicely (as Outback space is more horizontal than it is vertical). I'm sure there are references for dimensions of the interior space in Outback for you to Google and refer to, but happy to get the measuring tape out and post my own if it helps.
