    I'd like to hear the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport story as I own an ASX and am looking at a seven seater to buy this year. New LDV D90 in petrol only, Mahindra XUV7OO or Scorpio N, Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport or Kia Carnival? I'd like an off-road option but at the end of the day I want a car that'll last me 15 years and move the family around reliably. I agree with James about the Haval 7 seater. Would like to see one here. Do i choose to be a guinea pig and take a gamble on a relatively new brand to the Australian market or follow the sheep?

      @Demertech 11 годин тому

      If you have enough money I suggest the GWM Tank 500, it's the ultimate 7 seater without going madly expensive. The xuv700 has some little annoying issues but overall it's nice. I would recommend the chery but I have my doubts about their longevity, I'm more confident in GWM (Haval parent company), BAIC, GAC, BYD, Geely, MG or Zeekr at the moment (the last three are all SAIC). Not sure about LDV, we dint get them in South Africa, MG came to South Africa literally last week, I went to the first dealership, the HS is a little bit overpriced but it's not bad.

    I wanted an EV SUV, I even test drove a friend's BYD Atto3, I loved it. Our budget is sub $50K. This limited us to the more budget options, with little range and slow charging. Being in regional NSW there are real challenges with public charging infrastructure. Being in a rental we are unable to get a home charger, and the nearest charging location is 50km away...NRMA ones. The fear, from my partner, not me so much, was being stuck somewhere for 2 hours waiting to charge, assuming the charger is working in the first place, as we like to do road trips. She decided we're sticking with an ICE, it's her money, mainly her car, so her choice. She's also anti Chinese, even though I wanted to look at a Chery Omoda 5, though the nearest dealer is over 150km away. Maybe in 10+ years, when she feels we'll get rid of the new car, hopefully things will be such we can happily consider a good long range, and quick charging, Chinese EV.

    One is picking up some form of reverse psychology on your reviews of Chinese cars. There seems to be "crediting" of how "good" they are, which is then disproportionately followed by HUGE RED FLAGS that would make a prospective buyer forget about buying them all together, and thus fulfilling the entire purpose of your videos. I know you will jump in to say you have been doing the "reviews for a long time" of cars "you even owned", and that "you are not forcing anyone not to buy" because you said "they are good value for money". But then in the body of the videos you are actually killing off their brands, just like you did on this one @04:18 of this video and @04:49 when you say they are just selling you a salon and nothing else! It's a typical underground agent strategy that pretends to be "caring for the intended target" whilst you are actually out for a kill. What you are doing is just evidence of how seriously desperate the brands that have been ripping people off for a long time have become. Try even harder, but you are swimming against the tide. There is nothing positive or objective about your reviews at all. You talk as if the Jeeps you mentioning don't have problems of their own. Companies that have even been doing recalls to rectify various serious problems like airbags and transmission, and engine cooling systems. Jeep may look tough on the outside, but mechanically it is a nightmare, and a very expensive one to repair at that!

    I've had the Tank 300 petrol ultra for a year now, It's one of the best cars I've ever driven. In fact Pual was instrumental in my descision to purchase the Tank. The downside is the fuel consumption and the ELK keeps turning on everytime I get into the car (which I understand is a feautre in all new cars). The indicator stock can be annoying at first but you get a feel for it after while. With regards to quality my right rear tyre pressure keeps decreasing slightly faster than the other tyres. Not sure if it's a GWM thing or a tyre thing, haven't had time tot get it checked out as I live in remote WA. Early on I had some rocks lodged from trucks crack the top surface of my windshiled. Had it replaced with RAC. As for everything else it's been perfect. I've done over 15K and most of it is long distance on crappy country roads with some city driving and beach dune off roading. It's extremely smooth, extremely comfortable and enjoy getting in everytime. It's my meditation machine. Happy with my purchase so far. Will update this comment in another year.

    To be fair and not to be a downer, I wouldn't expect any failures on any car after a single year and just one Russian winter, regardless of the KMs travelled. This thing is probably always at full operating temperature while being used. It's usually multiple winters and many cold starts where issues start to arise, and it would usually take a car 10 years to hit 230k. 230k spread over 10 winters, and many cold starts and short trips would most likely be a different story. I'm from the UK (until 2012) and now live in Australia. Our cars were normally destroyed well before 10 years from road salt, many cold starts, and short trips in the UK, but I daily drove a 32 year old 300SE in Australia for years until very recently. It will be interesting to see how these things hold up after 10 years, as they might become a tempting proposition if they do well!

    • @ValueCarsAU
      @ValueCarsAU День тому

      Fair calls, but the distance this box on wheels travelled through Russia is still INSANE over that 1.5 years, so we could have seen some wear and tear from "cheaper" materials etc. This is what's good about the video, in case you've missed the point.

    I'm a fan of the Tank 300, I don't own one yet, I drive a Jeep but a friend does. Off road they are amazing especially when you compare the price difference to the major 4x4 brands. Although to be honest their ability to carry weight is far less than a patrol or land cruiser, but for a couple with small kids still ok Regarding rust, high milage isn't a factor it's more about time so this car has only done 37000 kms if you average out the typical driver does about 25000 per year. Still impressive though! Thanks for sharing this.

    first time in you channel. Im somehow surprised by some of the predicts/ sterotype about reliablility of Chinese cars. even in early days, Chinese car were relatively poorly made, the reliability were acceptable. you know China is the world largest car market, and no matter how you see China and Chinese people, we are normal human too and we need and like "normal" cars. and you also should know China is the largest market for BMW Benz and many other car companies. if Chinese cars are not any good, how would they survive in Chinese market?

      Please allow me to elaborate why I, at least, dislike Chinese cars. The first is obvious cost cutting, at least in terms of what's available here. For example, using screens over buttons for more common functions, such as the climate control systems. Whilst I don't mind screens, I don't want to be fiddling with a screen to change the temperature of my climate control or change radio station. Also, they appear noisier than say Hyundai and Kia, for example, on the open road. Lack of sound insulation, basically. For me, and this is the most important factor, is the lack of dealership and servicing network, especially outside of cities. My nearest MG dealership is over 100km away, my nearest Chery dealership is over 200km away. I, like many Australians, keep cars for over 10 years, so long term reliability, and more importantly parts availability, is yet to be proven. Parts availability is proving to be an issue right now. Who knows what'll happen once the US tariffs come into effect. Whilst my next car (awaiting delivery) isn't Chinese, perhaps the one after will be, only time will tell. I personally am not against Chinese cars, or the Chinese people, it's just a shame they don't seem very friendly when over here, the cars are just not for me today.

      @@arokh72 I wouldn't recommend Chery, look at GWM, BYD or MG if you want a Chinese car in the future. For now I've seen too much cost cutting on chery cars in important places.

    Back in 2014, I bought a brand new Foton Tunland 4x4 dual cab. While it was under warranty, 3 years, it was serviced by the dealer and after that I did it all myself. Since then, it's needed a set of tyres, a battery, front brake pads and quite a few headlight globes. Apart from that, nothing. Just regular servicing every 10,000 km. It's still on the original clutch and back brakes after over 200,000 km, so anyone who says Chinese cars are crap are wrong. They're like any other car- look after them properly and they'll last

    Regarding the brakes, I bought a new Holden Cruze in 2010. After a while, I noticed the same thing as you- excessive brake and rotor wear. Took it to a trusted brake specialist, and they explained that the car was built for a world market, the brakes were the same. It had very abrasive brake pads which wore the rotors down as the pads wore. I put in aftermarket rotors and pads and no more problems

    I have been watching a few Haval videos. Someone else had the same problem with their Android Auto. They fixed it with a genuine Samsung cable. They said if you have a generic cable it randomly turns off.
