Can you use it with older phones like the IPhone 8 plus

I've been looking for the best gimbal for my LG V40, I'm about to work on a film using just my phone, and this is the first company that simply says it supports all Android phones with no compromise. Great review, love the content. I have the DJI Mobile 3 and really like it, but the lightning port for my iPhone 11 Pro Max gets in the way if I wanted to connect a Shure MV88 mic directly into the lightning port. From looking at your video it appears the Hohem would work with the lightning port on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Any thoughts?

How do you think the isteady x compares to the isteady mobile plus? Which would you choose?
FYI this gimbal in portrait mode does come into view of the lens with the iPhone 13 pro max. You’ll have to hold the handle off to the side to fix this but this gimbal has such a short tilt range that you can accidentally start tilting it when you do this. This gimbal needs the tilt addressed imo, the short range causes it to start forcing tilt if you move up or down too much rather than keeping the phone straight up and down no matter what mode you’re in.
I want to get a isteady but i would also need to get a mic as i have a huawei p30 lite and the sound on it isn't great so for me as a beginner what mic would you recommend bearing in mind i am on a very tight budget hence why i want the isteady, also what equipment would i need to attach to the isteady in order to connect the mic to the isteady and phone?

Great video! How would this compare to the Osmo Mobile 3? I see its smaller, has a higher payload capacity, but does it do as good of a job?
It does perform very well! Stabilization and portability are great. Software wise the DJI Mimo app is more robust for those who need that but I feel people who might just want to capture could enjoy the iSteady X for the great price point. Hope this helps! Thanks for sharing your time with me! 🤘🏼

They all have their pros and cons but it’s a matter of personal preference. They will all stabilize but the extra features is what can make it perfect for you. EMT I mostly do car and travel videos. I have a smooth4 ( favorite with filmic pro) and a Osmo3. I really like smartphone photography and cinematography.

Great video as always. Does this gimbal have way points to program moves automatically? For selfie does it switch the camera or rotate the gimbal? Does the app enable you to remotely operate it? thanx robert
No remote capabilities so far but it does have time lapse auto rotation. The Smove Mobile has this autorotation option and they just updated their app on Android.

Hello! If you turn off the phone's own stabilizer, will the video still be nice and stable?Unfortunately, in most tests, they test the gimbal by turning on the phone's factory stabilizer!I'd be curious to see how the gimbal performs on its own! With a phone that doesn't come with a stabilizer!

I just bought the DJI osmo mobile 3 just days ago. I really like it but I wish I saw this as another option to choose from. If I ever need something smaller this would be a good choice.

wow! finally found it,sold my Moza Mini mi for the Smooth Q2 for the portability alone but the motors keep getting in my shots when using lenses ,this Hohem Isteady seems to solve my problems..will be ordering when I sell my gimbal for sure

I got the same motor problem with S10e and Smooth Q2 with both wide and ultra wide lens. Wich phone did you use? Hope this one does fix it finally but I want to be sure. Most gimbal reviews are with iphones it seems...
@@BornIntoThis20 I use the oneplus 7 pro with the smooth Q2.I just discovered this one has a small limitation that bothers me as well,can't change the gimbal modes without using their camera software. I often use third party camera apps like Filmic pro so this is an issue
@@king6463 Hehe I'm using Filmic pro too and asked Hohem by mail if they plan to release a firmware update later to get the change mode with buttons. They didn't answer about that in their mail... Maybe last option is Osmo mobile 3? Zhyiun smooth X is only 2 axis gimbal..
How would you compare this to the Dji osmo 3 which I currently own. I am always looking for more minimal with great functiohality.
The major plus for the iSteady X is portability. Having said that the DJI Mimo app is more robust and tracking is a bit better on the Osmo side if you where to need that. Hope all is well! 🤘🏼

It’s a tough one! The payload capacity is definitely a plus on the iSteady X and the price is very appealing. The robustness of the DJI Mimo and the integration of the Osmo Mobile 3 with 3rd party apps like Moment Pro Cam are a big factor but both are fantastic options. It comes down to your specific needs. If you’re starting or not interested in the “pro” stuff on the DJI Mimo app/others then the iSteady X is where I’d go. 🤘🏼

In my particular case I prefer hohem vs Osmo 3, 60 fps on android works and O3 does not, only for IOS

I think the stabilization is on par with the Osmo Mobile 3 and I think is a fantastic option when compared to the Smooth Q 2 id using ultra wide lenses. Glad you enjoyed the video! 🤘🏼

Honestly they’re both great but I do like that the Moza Genie app doesn’t have a timer and you could automatically zoom in or out on the Mini MI. I feel the iSteady X is great for users who just want to capture on the go. Mini Mi is a bit more robust for those looking to make adjustments and set up the shot! Hope this helps! Stay safe! 🤘🏼

I hope they do some upgrades to the app. No 24 frames a second, no choice of lenses on Iphone Pro max, no exposure or iso control. But it sure is simple to work with, small, light, and fits in a Moment phone sling with lenses, tripod and small light. Fun to use.

For me the crucial question is - does it support iPhone 12 MINI. That would be a really minimalistic setup. Still - the 12 mini is not listen on their webpage. Has anybody tried it with iPhone 12 mini, especially with the wide lens?

Saw this on amazon for £58, so started watching reviews on it, at that price and being very comparable to dji gimbals I couldn't turn it down.
I'd love a dji gimbal but price is out of my reach right now and only able to afford this one due to a little bonus in my pay from work.
