I do find this wheel way too small but i believe that its small size gives it more direct information to the driver as you have less leverage on the base
Great Video, You did a good job! Thank You!
Excelente informacion. Un saludo.
I have the T300RS GT and its well above what I'd call a good starter wheel. and I love it. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the Moza R5 when it gets here.
I am just talking price-wise so not performance-wise. I agree with you that the T300 suits the needs of many of the sim-racers out there. The MOZA will feel much more fluent and more powerful, more suitable for precise steering. A nice upgrade already!
Moza is def better beacuse it’s a DD wheel, but the tx and T300 are are one of the best if not best non DD wheels.
Cool vid, i have to say
I just ordered TX RW Leather Edition after returning T150 few months ago due to quality issue.
Hoping its still good in 2023, being almost 8-10 year old design.
It is. While the dual belt system may not be the most "sophisticated" it provides a very smooth and relatively powerful force feedback sensation. The T150 was a hybrid and this is very much of a step-up from that technology.
I was just considering getting that one for my xbox series x, how has it been performing? Was it worth the upgrade?
These are very good starter or casual player bases. Had a used TX for a bit and loved it. Never had a overheating problem with mine but I know it happened to others.
Absolutely. I didnt have any issue either with this or the T300's but like you say, I read quite a few complaints so I thought I would mention it and provide the cure 💉💉💉
@Neosphinx Picked up a Buttkicker gamer plus yesterday. Haven't figured everything out on it yet. Also, I'm going to go with Moza R9. You can by a complete setup for under $1000 shipped. Not sure when the wife will let me buy it though. Lol
@@PJDobbs ohhhh... that is some serious hardware!!! 😲 you are going pro!! Can i sugest buying it just before Christmas? Then if the misses gets upset, you can say "hey, it is Christmas, a time for forgiving and love" 😈🤭
@Neosphinx lol. Not good enough to go pro. Just trying to get as close to real driving within my budget.
That budget seems to be growing substantially though :D
can you tell me the difference between the TX racing wheel and GT racing wheel add on.
Are they both same or different except the button colours
Absolutely the same apart from the colors. The "difference" is that the buttons for the GT add-on are suited for generic, not just xbox.
I have been sim racing for a while now and taking it not too seriously, I was wondering are the pedals any good compared to load cell pedals from fanatec or do they not even compare
There are a lot of differences between the T3PA pedals and load cell pedals of Thrustmaster or Fanatec. Each pedal set has its own specifications. The difference of the load cell is specifically noticeable for braking. With the T3PA pedals, you know you need to press in the brake pedal for 3mm to take a certain turn. With load cell pedals, you need to apply a certain pressure on the pedal to make that turn. Why this is important? Because your muscles can better "remember" the amount of force to apply instead of remembering how far to push the pedal down. In the end, it will make you more consistent in braking. But that is not the only thing that is different. Most load-cell pedals also use a more sophisticated spring system to better mimic the feeling of a brake in a car. And also, all the current load-cell sold pedal bases have Hall sensors instead of potentiometers for the T3PA. This means it uses magnets and theoretically they will not break (potentiometers can get dirty over time and give false readings). In general load-cell pedals are also more stylized, use more heavy materials (less plastic) and come with a price-tag. Is it worth buying (Thrustmaster, Fanatec) load-cell equipped pedals? Absolutely. The T3PA pedals are not bad, but exchanging them with the TLCM pedals of Thrustmaster made a huge difference for both immersion and performance for me and I never regretted buying them. Currently I do have Fanatec CS V3 pedals because they have a clutch pedals that just feels fantastic however, they are about twice the price of the more simple T-LCM of Thrustmaster.
Wao. Very good wheel. Before i have T150 now i waith TX for january 2. You can make top Times in ACC with TX 🎉
You can make top times even with a controller but a TX certainly will feel very different to a T150. Enjoy friend 👍
I'm surprised it is still sold new. It looks very old-school. I'm waiting to see the new DD base for consoles, whenever that will be a thing. Informative video nonetheless!! Cheers mate.
Not sure how long still. Will Thrustmaster keep them alive with the T248? I am selling some hardware so I have some money to buy the T818 and test it. Thanks man 👍👍👍👍👍
@@SimulatedDrivingResource ok super bedankt😁
Hi, what is the function of the rotary switch?
Traction control/ ABS.
@@SimulatedDrivingResource Thanks! 🙂
Hi, is there a way to check if the ffd is working correctly. I have a Thrustmaster TX leather editoin and I have feeling that the FFB is generally not strong enough(the wheel is brand new) and it is getting weaker during gaming(the base does not heat up at all). For example, I play f1 2020/22 and "on track effect" is set to 100 but it is almost absent, it feels very, very, very weak. А few months ago I played the same games on this steering wheel and the feeling was completely different.
I dont think so but havent searched for some time. Have you tried setting the force higher in the Thrustmaster software AND the gain in game?
These are my settings:
Тhrustmaster control panel:
Rotation: 360 deg
Overall strength of all forces: 75%
Constatn: 100%
Periodic: 100%
Srping: 100%
Damper: 100%
F1 2020 settings:
Vibration and ffb: 70
On track effects: 20 - 100 (there is almost no difference)
Rumblestrip Effects: 50
Off track effects: 65
Wheel damper: 10
Understeer Enhance: off
There isn't much of a difference in terms of vibration when I set the rest of the f1 settings to their maximum values, only the wheel feels tighter. On the other steering wheel I played on (same model) with the same settings, the feeling was completely different, and the desk almost bounced at maximal settings.
If the settings have not changed and you play the same game and the base does not get Hot, i can only think of 2 things: firmware or hardware malfunction. Can you (or did you) do a firmware update? Perhaps one other thing, but just to test. The forced cooling mode. Try to activate (or deactivate) it www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=ts.thrustmaster.com/faqs/eng/thr_eng_00146.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwi0kvDB58SDAxWOfKQEHXTHBMMQFnoECA4QAQ&usg=AOvVaw0BtoXKmeJTT1pqptDG7Vgh
Yes, I have updated the firmware to the latest version - 58.06. Тhe base is literally cold, after a few hours of playing with some breaks, does it mean a hardware problem?
@@user-un4ju8so9v its the same phenomenom in other games? Its strange that it actually fades when its not overly hot. Perhaps an issue with the temp sensor... I would try the force cooling mode. And perhaps also, if you have FB, post your question in the Thrustmaster Owners forum. Alot more people there with experience.
I had a t300 for about 5 years. Was a great wheel, used it for tons of hours. It never broke, the motor got tired out though so it’s a little notchy and weak after about 15 min of normal driving. I bought a CSL elite and the clubsport wheel. Let’s just say the thrustmaster is a toy compared to this thing
The CSL elite is a beauty and I can understand if you compare the bases that you would think of the T300 as a toy...
@@SimulatedDrivingResource they’re not that far off price wise. I got my t300 with alcantara wheel for $350 and I got the elite with a nice leather Playstation wheel for $400 🤷♂️
That my friend, is a very good price for a CSL Elite!
@@SimulatedDrivingResource that’s what they’re selling for on the fanatec site
i’ve had a t80 for the past few years, nothing major about it is wrong, the only reasons why i understand it gets hate is because of the low rotation and the lack of ffb, still, the t80 is a great wheel for beginners and should get a tx or a t300(ps/xbox) as a mid range wheel for price
I understand your point friend. It is certainly more fun than driving with a controller but still, active force feedback is such an essential part of really simulated driving imo. I wanted to do a few video's about non active force feedback wheels but simply did not get around to it yet.
@@SimulatedDrivingResource i get your point and i’m not going to be stuck with a t80 as my dads getting me a tx leather edition that is with ffb for my birthday along with a NLR FGT Lite sim racing rig
@@jellyoscar_100 a world of difference. I am sure you will enjoy. Happy upcoming birthday!! 🥳🥳🥳
@@SimulatedDrivingResource thx and my birthday was last sunday, i’m getting the tx sooner as i am in another country for easter big once i get back i’ll be dying to get it
Does it work with Xbox series s??
Absolutely
pero, puedes cambiar el volante en sí sin tener que hacer ninguna cosa rara?
Absolutamente. El TX cuenta con una función de liberación rápida que permite reemplazar fácilmente el volante.
El TX es compatible con PS5?
No. Tx for Xbox, T300 for PS5
@@SimulatedDrivingResource gracias por responder
The thumbnail is a TMX wheel actually. Not a TX, the base seems to be a TX servo base, but the actual wheel is a TMX
@@XxarkxX0 The steering wheel is not a TMX. A TMX has a badge on the lower central spoke if I remember correct.
@@SimulatedDrivingResourceI wasn’t saying the base.
the tx wheel doesn’t have all colored buttons there black (I personally own a tx base and wheel) i know this beacuse I owned a TMX and now I have a TX
@@XxarkxX0 look up thrustmaster TX. You will find with colored buttons. TMX has badge and no switch on bottom right part. This is a TX steering wheel.
@@SimulatedDrivingResourceI own a TX lol
if you are good with TX you can make top times in the world!!!!!! On ACC !!! I have TX and direct drive... the difference is me and not the wheel
Absolutely
@@SimulatedDrivingResource good year
And my best wishes for you too friend.
U dont actually need the tx or t300 for a good entry level wheel, I just downgraded from a t300rs to an t150(tcl-m pedals) and it is 90% of the t300, no need for anything better if you ask me, well unless you go for direct drive but they are so expensive for a much simpler design to manufacture so I dont feel the price is fair on those dd wheelbases at all if you as me for my professional (mechanical engineering) opinion.
It all depends on personal liking. Like I say in my best wheel overview, the T150 already gives you quite a lot of the sim-racing experience so I can understand you. And that the price is not fair... well, I think I say that in every video and indeed, DD is overpriced for the hardware that is actually in it. Thanks for the feedback friend!
Does the t150 leave ya add the F1 wheel add on ?
Good thing, but expensive...
Very true friend
@@SimulatedDrivingResource I have this wheel more than one year. Good entry level wheel, 3.9 nM more than enough for me. Before i have a g920 and TMX Pro.. but these wheels was like a toy..
@@VidiSLTU correct, the added power and dual belt make a very large difference. Thanks for the user feedback.
Same here. I have a tmx and when turning the wheel it kinda feels like youre rotating some sort of gears. Im looking to upgrade to either the tx or the ts-xw not sure which is the better upgrade
That depends if you buy second hand or not. For second hand, because of the direct drive wheels (fanatec, MOZA, Cammus) dropping in price a lot new, the TS-XW can be bought for a bargain... at least in my region.
