If you really want to do repeating events correctly, import the single event to your Google calendar then export the .ics and open it in a text editor. Then you just "find and replace all" for:
    END:VEVENT
    with
    RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY
    END:VEVENT
That will make all the events repeating yearly. There's also "DAILY" "WEEKLY" etc. If you want to see what the proper fields are for different event settings, make an event with those options, export it and then open the .ics to see the format.

I have been doing this for years. Every year there is a new problem. Either Apple or Microsoft has changed something.
This time the .csv -file refused to go through. I had to close Excel, tell my Mac we are in the US (I am in France), restart Excel, import the .xls file again set with correct delimiters, and save it as American style.csv. Took me an hour to figure it out, but it's done.
Date formats and decimals give me gray hair.
My highest kudos to the way you help us with your knowledge.

Hi Chris, thanks so much for the video. I don't know why I can't export mine, seems there are other columns Google Calendar didn't like so much. I tried to copy paste them in another sheet and it works (so why doesn't it work in the first place?). Since it's not convenient cause I'm trying to create an event based calendar and I need to change the dates as events change dates, I tried to import the data into another sheet and export it in .csv, but this time it doesn't work either. Do you now what could cause the issue?

Super helpful. Thanks very much. I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question, but just want the nod from the expert... This is an import so will only import the information as it is presented. If I was to change the information in the csv file, it won't automatically update it on my google calendar, correct? I'd have to upload the csv file again, I'm assuming. If this is the case, do you know anyway that this might be able to work? Thanks for your time ;-)

I mistakenly imported an ics file from a third party calendar to my main calendar and got overwhelmed with all their events. I was trying to figure out how to delete those events but could not determine how. The only thing I came across was something that said to replace File:Confirmed with File:Cancelled in the ics file itself. It said open the ics file in a text editor and make the change then save it and upload the ics file from the third party calendar to the calendar you wanted to delete the entries and that is what it was supposed to do. I couldn’t get it to work so I wonder if you might know what to do. Would appreciate any thoughts you might have and thanks so much for your help.

You can put colors in the excel file but they will not show up in Google calendar. I think that is what you want to do. That would be a great feature.

    Thankyou for this!
One question. I want a 25 hour event to show start and end times on the calendar, so that I can print them from the calendar. Is there a way to do this please?
Google shows 'all day' for anything over 24 hours when I try to print it.

Loved your video on events import into G- Calendar.I followed your video & it worked a dream when I did a test into my live calendar with one event using a CSV delimited file I then tried to upload a 2nd time but the Microsoft text wizard keeps opening and goes through the process to get the columns correctly formed by the wizard but every time I upload I get a message saying 0 of 0 uploaded. I have tried multiple things to get it to work but I have failed so any help would be appreciated.

It is because excel often use semi colon as seperator in CSV, however google calender only accepts comma seperated, open the file with Notepad ad replace semicolons with comma, worked for me.

      Quote from google Formatting errors
Imports might have errors because the formatting is wrong in the file. Choose your filetype below for tips for checking your file's formatting:
CSV file (file ends with "csv")
Check that your file uses a comma as the delimiter
Google Calendar doesn’t work with files that use a semicolon ( ; ) or colon ( : ) to separate fields. Make sure all fields are separated by commas.

Similar. In Outlook desktop you go to Calendar, then File - Open and Export - Import/Export and go from there. drive.google.com/file/d/1zMPFzOdxDZannKo8gaiDKwOvH2SqLW8J/view?usp=drivesdk

Hello, google calendar told me the same. I was saving the doc from excel (and not google sheets). I think the problem was that on excel the .cvs use ";" to separate the datas and google calendar only accept the ",". Which is why we need to go through google sheets which does use the "," separation.
      Hope this will help
