It's amazing how building these beautiful and natural ponds, being mindful and watchful how the fish develope and grow. and creating an ecosystem that keeps the water clean and then feeding a variety of foods.... especially live and natural foods that you can cultivate!! All this helps these fish develop into healthy, beautiful and strong fish that can be enjoyed for years to come!! The secret is making things as close to nature and a natural environment as it can be ❤️🙏 I also go to my daughter's house who has well water here in Kentucky and the water is just perfect I do not use the city water I bring jugs back to put into my tanks!! I know not everyone has access to different Waters but I'm very fortunate I do!! I've been very successful in creating dirted and deep substrated planted aquariums that my fish can enjoy and live long healthy lives in!!! You have helped and inspired me to learn so many things along the way 🙏 Thank you always my friend!!🙏🌿🐟🌿❤️🥰
HI Dexter.. This is my 2nd X I'm sending my comments on your CH. I believe with your hardwork and determination you gonna have a good yield.Good luck...All the best....😁

Hi good morning and God blessings for Long Island New York. I was just wondering what happened to the family who used to take care of the big farm. Please do a video with them.
Good morning! ❤️ You spoke of using netting. Here in the states we have a sort of netting called "deer netting" and "bird netting". It's sold in rolls and u folds into this HUGE sheet to cover fruit trees. It is very durable and can last 3-4 years in the sun. It is very thin and light weight! And can be found in gardening section of most stores. (And it's cheap! 😉) Think this is the netting your looking for!! I use it to keep small birds out of my chicken pens and have stretched it over the more exposed areas of my backyard to keep the hawks off my silkies. Good luck!
I’m just curious. Can you make a vlog about how you maintain the pond when there is a storm. What steps are you doing? How do you cope up about that situation?
May I Suggest you try adding baking soda or talaba shell to improve your low PH sir. Or simply add water conditioner to adjust you PH. I think it would cutdown your labor and expenses 🙂
Good day to all my friends, n my friend dw.. Having watch your videos, its keep me not only updated to all your doings out of your farm but it inspired us a lot, and wanting to do what you're doing now.. As days goes by, you have keeps improving your farm, I'm so happy to see you go on successfully to all your plan... By the way bout your electric bills, have you ever think of putting solar system to your farm...😇
🇹🇹🇩🇰 Hi Dexter, I love your Channel but I don't have to much time. I go with God's speed...if I make sense🤣. I miss the Bats 🦇🦇🦇. I will find the Bats in another Vlog!! I have no understanding about fish breathing but I do love and enjoy your videos👍 Kisses😘. from Copenhagen 🇩🇰💋. God bless you Dexter🦇🦇🦇🤣
Dexter Sir, Thanks for posting another amazing video. I truly enjoy watching your videos and learning so much. I wish I could roll up my sleeves and get out there working with you! Reference the water PH from your well water. Did you consider using a PH buffer to reduce the PH. It may be easier to use a powder then making the trips by vehicle for a lower PH water.
Hey dexter, I have a question, do you have a site where we can order some of your fishes, and could you ship to the U.S? I’m very interested in your bettas, please get back to me dexter
how about making your backyard a huge aviary??? preventing large birds on preying your fishes and at the same time you can make a large area for your small birds to fly in a large enclosure...
Would it be too expensive to decrease the pH of the well water, instead of paying for tap water and transporting and labour? Ask a swimming pool maintenance person to test and treat the water (hydrochloric acid, muriatic acid or sodium bisulphate). Cutting leafed branches of almond trees and placing it in pond will also reduce the alkanity. Your area seems to have a lot of those trees.
Using HCl might be too drastic. This is a very aggressive mineral acid (as you must probably know) and needs very careful monitoring, not something I would want my fish swimming in. Sodium bisulphite would work but it is also quite acidic and deoxygenates the water, it too needs careful monitoring. Using lots of organic material, as suggested, is a safer option so the next step would be to identify which of the native flora would be suitable candidates. Almond leaves are a good starting point, although I don't know if they grow in the Philippines. Coconut shells are another option. Commercial citric acid is usually cheap and safe to use, certainly cheaper than the fuel that is burnt in ferrying water to the pond. Before any treatment it would be useful to know what anions are causing the high pH, it may not be alkalinity, therefore an analysis is necessary. In all cases Dexter would need to establish a water treatment facility and a substantial reservoir.
@@majorbruster5916 all the chemical treatments I mentioned would be done before putting in the fish. Municipal water suppliers use such chemicals and we are able to drink the water after, so putting in fish after a safe period should be ok.
@@patrickdaly1393 I was not advocating putting the chemicals into the water with the fish - never! I don't know where in the world you are sir, but here in the UK we don't put HCl into the municipal water supply. The treatments you suggest are commonly used in private swimming pools and hot tubs, which are very different from fish ponds. My advice is to err on the side of safety, as I do not want Dexter (or anyone else reading this post) to have any kind of fish loss as a result of any suggestions that I have put forward. No one should contemplate putting either strong acids or alkalis into their fish ponds or aquaria. A water treatment pond would be necessary and sensible, as would a preliminary raw water quality analysis, followed by monitoring the pH closely. As I said, finding out the cause of the high pH would be the first step, then working out a practical solution which is most suited to Dexter's situation would be the next logical step.
