That my friend is a work of art. If I got one, it would be a shelf queen or 1/10 mall crawler…. Haha Thanks again, for opening my eyes to more expensive rc’s! My wife appreciates that! 😂. Love the channel!
Wow that Ripper is way cool 😍. A friend and I were just talking about how rad it would be to have a crawler with an aluminum body and or panels. And boom here one is. Thanks for sharing it this week, I love it.
Cool to learn more about this special truck and kudos to you for actually driving your rare and valuable rc. Nice WOTBW episode, looking forward to next installments and thank you for all Scale Builder's Guild fun!
Thank you Matt for sharing ✨. It an absolute beauty…the ripper…found one on ebay a year ago 12500 americano dollares😮. I have too email Josh about the Ripper 2….and when VQ are going to re-release the wraith rock jock 70 axles in grey, yes grey is the one colour. Peace and love from Sweden / Sam
Very cool sure machining everything was an overkill too impress like full size prototypes presented at motorshows to say hey look what we can do! But the real surprise was that they ever actually sold them to the public! Will have to check out any videos you've posted of it in the past! 🙂👌
That is my favorite crawler that I've seen on your channel, Im doing my first Custome build now, so may ways to go with ideas its endless and confusing.
This is such an awesome looking truck! I kind of regret not getting one when I had the chance, but there is no way I could justify the $2000+ price it carried.
Great video, I always wanted a Ripper, now I can afford one it's probably easier to find the lost city of Atlantis. I think Vanquish should do a cost effective version like what they did with the Phoenix (injection moulded instead of aluminium) with their own chassis and gearbox, I think it would be a instant success and stop all the Ripper 2 emails as well ;)
To machine those aluminum parts is insanity, brilliant insanity🤘😁🤘 the ripper is awesome, I reckon I needs watch the building of it 🤘y'all have a badass day🤘🍻🤘
So…I didn’t even know this rig existed until today. Consequently, I’m working on a little something similar but on a completely different platform. I just gotta get the dad gum thing done. I’m hoping it’s a legit basher and not a shelf queen. Your videos rock!!!
The ripper is awesome. For sure a truck I'd love to own hahahahahahaha. That will stay as a wish hahaha I love all my vanquish trucks. Hope you have an amazing Christmas. Can't wat to see the monthly mayhem video. 😎👍👍
What the radiator has a fan, and it’s powered? Is it thermal controlled? Or just come on with power. The dash display too. I need more data, that shit is tight, or chucked as you say. It’s a chucked truck
I'd almost want to call BS on the hood and cage being CNC machined but I program and run up to 6 axis mills and have made chevy 350 valve covers out of a solid block of aluminum so I know that it's possible. I'm guessing they used castings so that material wasn't wasted
hi Matt... love this show (and the intro!) ... that ripper is amazing. I was curious what the actual kit contained? Was it just the chasis and panels and that's it? Also, was wondering on the wheelbase... looks shorter than a standard 10.2. thanks so much
Oh sure do a special on a rig we can't git, next time how about throwing some salt on the wound first lol. It would be cool if VP put out a plastic molded ripper esk cage/body for there builders kit's
I guess you went back and did a quick edit after LSTO last night 😂😂. The Ripper is a super cool rig and amazing on the machine work, great overview Matt!! Have a great Christmas
Totally random but I dig the sick upside-down "AARMY" sweatshirt you're wearing. I've seen it in a couple videos and always wondered about it. (Not gonna mention how this is another one of your amazing videos because that's a given 😁)
Quick question for ya sir, are you aware of anyone who offers a square roll cage for the FMS imnotajeep-mashigan.?? Looking for that 94-95 YJ cage for the custom build for my wifey, we had that jeep 15yrs ago on 38's it had the little 2.5 four cylinder but with a atlas dual stick transfer case and twin Dana 60's with 5.36 Yukon gearing everyone was blown away how that little fourbanger held its own, mono leaf over the rear and tera-flex everything our little yeep was crawling trails rated 40 inch tires plus , anyway just curious and I do not have 3d printing available. Great vids as always sir thanks....
Hi. Great show. What is the best, in your opinion? 1.10 scale realistic crawler. I'm not rich. But want to add and improve one. And one day be as good as you. 👍
I just watched your video on the Ripper from the 4yrs ago via the link. At the end it asks for suggestions on "things to add to the vehicle ". So yes. Add some bubble wrap, box and my mailing address. Done.🙂
Little disappointing that he didn’t machine the tires out of aluminum 🤷🏻♂️ lol. Awesome video haven’t really looked deep into the ripper but I’ve heard the stories 👍
No, he's not. That's what sets it apart from ALL the rest. It was billet, machined in house. The cage was one piece. And each panel was it's own billet chunk. Was made to showcase Vanquish products ability. They were sold in kit form to be compatible with the Axial SCX10. They are crazy cool. This is the difference between china built and precision small company in house manufacturing. Lot's of more modern stuff that will out perform it, but nothing will get more respect from those who know. Br well and have fun.
So we can say it's clear the ripper is the most inquired/asked about rig right ? Also The phoenix has half a cage already therefore it's proof they can produce it and profitably. How about a full cage god dammit ?! Lol jesus Christmas ! Just make a plastic ripper and it'll be flying off the god damn shelves . It can be the next vs4-10 kit . Tell josh I said "you're welcome . "
The engineering is absolutely amazing! ...but alas it's another high preformance SCX 10 Based joop thing. It doesn't hold much of my interest as I'm here for the hidiously impractical scale trucks (and the intro music) But I can very much admire the insanity of the engineering! (Why would you make the everything milled?!) ...Hrm...My comment needs a point...uh-...err...work on the CUCV so I can steal ideas from it!...uh- err-...Make a trailer for the TRX-6 Ultimate camper so it's even longer and more unwieldy?....Uh-...Continue doing what ever you're doing?...yeah, yeah that last one is good.
I think there's room in the market for another expensive low-production kit like this again, the way idiots throw money around in the hobby these days. (I am one of those idiots, please take my money. LOL)
What’s On The Bench Weekly has become one of the highlights of my week! Keep em’ coming!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for posting this Matt! I’ve always wanted to see the guts of a Ripper. They are even cooler now .
Wow! I had no idea what made the Ripper special, so thanks for the tour! I can see why Josh is being harassed for an Electric Boogaloo...
That's one very cool looking rc. Be nice to see it run at some stage. John
That my friend is a work of art. If I got one, it would be a shelf queen or 1/10 mall crawler…. Haha Thanks again, for opening my eyes to more expensive rc’s! My wife appreciates that! 😂. Love the channel!

Thanks! 👍
One RC to rule them all
Happy Holidays Matt, to you and your wife. Great Episode Thanks for doing what you do for the hobby.
Happy Holidays to you too!
Yes, I’ll have one Ripper, please. BUT, it has to be milled. None of that stamped, molded or whatever bs. That thing is sick.
I done own any vanquish items yet. But this craftsmanship is amazing on the Ripper. It's such an impressive truck.
The Phoenix is one of my favourite trucks!
My favourite part of the week!!! Love the ripper so much, would love to find a cage that’s similar to this for my 10ii
About a thousand of them online. Look like, not "like". No one will ever make a chassis like that again
@@brianellison3525 yeah it’s finding one that doesn’t look cheap and nasty, the ripper is a unicorn, we all know that! 😂😂

I swapped in a trail finder-3 chassis/leaf-spring conversion on my ripper.
Definitely an awesome rig, a lottery winnings cost truck, now about that ripper 2.0 Josh, lmao
Really cool rig thanks for sharing, and merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you and your family Matt and may the new year bring you prosperity, happiness and good health. Regards....Mike
Thanks Mike! Merry Christmas to you and your family too!
My number 1 bucket list rc, and the one I’ll likely never own. The want is real.

Definitely an awesome rig.
Really cool video. I really didn't know much about the Ripper till today. I just thought they were made from gold and unicorn horns.
😂
Late to the crawler scene, Phoenix is my favorite rig. Whats the connection with Josh and vanquish? Designer, owner?
Josh is a designer for Vanquish.
Didn't Capo do one something like this?
Is there a video I’ve missed I don’t recognize the orange rover on the shelf behind you I’d love to see it up close
It's been covered on What's on the Bench many times. Thanks for watching!
@@scalebuildersguild thank you I’ll have to look a little harder for it
Great vid as usual! Any plans to do any major overhaul's on the RIpper?
Nope. I overhauled it earlier this year, so I'm pretty happy with where it's at! Thanks for watching!
Matt it was a kit you build onto axial chassis correct?
If you go to the Vanquish website and search "ripper", you'll be able to see everything involved!
So…I didn’t even know this rig existed until today. Consequently, I’m working on a little something similar but on a completely different platform. I just gotta get the dad gum thing done. I’m hoping it’s a legit basher and not a shelf queen.
Your videos rock!!!
Thanks for watching!
First ripper I have ever seen
Why can't Vanquish come out with a Ripper lite. Same basic design but formed or lexan panels. So on to reduce costs.
Great video, love the body of that truck. Happy Holidays SBG
Happy Holidays!
This things rad

Can't stop chair dancing to that opening theme song!!!
There's a link on Vanquish's website if you search the "ripper". Tells you exactly what it comes with and what you need to complete!
Oh sure do a special on a rig we can't git, next time how about throwing some salt on the wound first lol.
It would be cool if VP put out a plastic molded ripper esk cage/body for there builders kit's
Sorry!
So… it’s for sale then?
I thought i recognised the heads. I’ve 5 of each style he did unpainted waiting for the right build.

Matt do you think ripper 2.0 will have square headlights ? Haha great vid as always I hope you are your family have a nice holiday

First?😃 Rippers are awesome artwork!
Yes they are!
I wouldn't sell it either. If a run across a Blazing Blazer and or a Ripper will let you know. Possibly do a trade if interested.
And for how much you are not selling it?
Ah! , so now I know which RC you would save from a house fire!. Lol
How much? 😁
So sad tha Vanquish never make it again 😭
Awesome rig. Merry Christmas happy holidays to all
This rig of yours reminds me of the Losi Hammer Rey and that was ugly for me, sorry man. My Losi Lasernut is still the best looking rock racer to me.
