I used to race 4wd touring car on carpet. Was a ton of fun, never worried about winning. Just had fun and did the best I could. Just enjoy the time on the track.
So many legendary liveries for the Porsche in my mind. Rothmans, Gulf, Martini, Vaillant, Jägermeister, Sunoco and many more🤩 The Name vor the pinkone is in German "Rennsau" Greetz Andy
Josh is going to be so jealous of your new tool.. that was nice of you mom to still keep you safe. I want one know,so quit. Really like the carpet car, looks fun.
Here is a challenge for you and lexan. I’m thinking Jäegermeister livery but not just an orange single color. Put your creativity hat on and possibly add some black modern era stripes. Then ……… do some race car weathering as if it’s 23 hours of the 24 Hours of LeMans. Looking forward to what SBG shows off this new year. 👍👍
The knife is cool. I dunno yer preferences, but, I would oil the handles with butcher block treatment. You can make yer own with white (food grade) mineral oil and beeswax. The store bought stuff has vitamin e added as a stabilizer as well. Pretty stoked to see how you paint that "porsche" body 🤘y'all have a badass day🤘🍻🤘
Nice presents. I have a lot of Proxxon tools for the rc hobby and for my 1:1 cars. And they are very good. I bought my first nut and wrench set for cars and other hobbies back in 05 and whilst i take care of my tools, i use them without beeing overprotective and i have yet not had the need to replace a single nut. So you will have a lot of fun with those tools.
I saw the key chain in the ignition on one of your recent builds. Any future for scale pocket knives to make it into builds? Happy New Year, good sir. And may another Year of No Lexan be upon us!
You will enjoy the Tamiya builds. The variety of topics in this series keeps my interest as a sub. I joined my son and grandson in the carpet racing earlier this year. We have built 2 TT01, 3 TT-02 and 2 M07 kits. They run well and have had a low failure rate. Also joined the Traxxas tech 2.0 class. All use the Hobbywing justock combos. Great fun for 3 generational recreation.
I got into tamiya spec racing this time last year as, like you, i have a local track, although it's outdoor tarmac. I have a MO-7 and I love it. I didn't think I would be competitive, but i soon got sucked into tweaking my setup, doing practice laps and fine tuning. It's been a lot of fun.
🎉Happy New Year Matt and all SBG fans! Great shows and content. I got my start in RC carpet racing with a Tamiya Fox back in the day. Those days races were held in local auditoriums and several church meeting rooms. Sure was a lot of fun. Go have fun Matt!😊
Nice - looks like a very fun racer. Not sure where to go carpet racing with my M05 in this burg, will need to look into it at some point (other priorities at this time) - but my M05 is using that ESC and I am happy with it (it's solid). But the motor (there was only one option, and trust me it was a real PIA to get my hands on as it was only sold by one store and only available when they decided to bring them into stock (they would not accept orders for them) and tires you have where outlawed (only Tamiya branded S-Grip & M-Grip tires permitted - although what was allowed was traction compound and also CA gluing the tires edges - this was very needed on the front as the front geometry combined with the shape of the tires would cause the car to hook so well at speed it would flip the car in a corner). Car worked well (total blast to drive), but mine is very hefty with the lead I taped in strategic places on the chassis. I've also got all sorts of other mod's (my favorite being the geared 3Racing limited slip differential). Anyways, have lot's of fun (it is a very fun class)!!! And don't knock yourself out of the podium before you begin - the Tamiya M-class races are competitive, but the rules make for some real tight racing meaning you never know.
Hey Matt, not sure if it's the same in Canada, but here in the UK we have to apply for a BRCA racing license before you take to the track... I believe you're allowed 3 visits without the license, just to get a feel for it
Do some training on the track before racing, ask help for tyre prep etc. It's not gonna be fast with those electronics, but you can have fun like with the kamiteks even if it's more serious racing. It's gonna be fun just being at the track with the other racers, just like with crawlers. I used to race TSP-10 and M-03s (fwd tamiya) but like you I'm not great in race situations, I'm not at all competitive anyway so crawling's more my speed.
Great episode!! Carpet racing!! Rotary tools!! Knives!! Ever since I got back into RC in 2020, I’ve always wanted to rip carpet again! Unfortunately, there’s not a track near me so it will be fun to watch your build and run footage!
I love that you're going to do more on road next year. I just completed my Tamiya XV01 WRX STI a couple months ago and have been watching a lot of Formula 1 in preparation to build my F104 Pro II.
You need to come up with an SBG livery and run all your actual comp rigs in that look. Like no matter what sport, you can spot Red Bull or Budweiser Racing. Whatever you come up with, it'll be awesome cuz it's on a 911. One of my fave cars. Wish you the best, be well and have fun 😊
Great! Now I'm not only hooked on scale crawler...I'm also into Club-racing now. Thanks Matt!🤦♀ Serioulsy though, I just ordered a TT01e Porsche GT3 kit for a racing-club just 40 minutes away. Thanks for the inspiration man!I'm so pumped. I think I go for a classic Gulf livery. I wish you and your family and friends (not Josh 😆) a happy and healthy new year. cheers from Germany.
Funny, I just asked for (and received) a cordless dremel for christmas. I got tired of a corded unit and snaking the cord around my work. It definitely is bigger and bulkier than my old Bosch (that is having its bearings go out) so we'll see how that works out. I agree, a smaller unit would probably be more ideal but for the little dremeling I do it'll be ok. It would be nice if the dremel sat in a charging cradle between uses instead of having to pop the battery out to charge.
Depending on what part of the body I'm grinding on, I'll wrap my Dremel in cardboard, put it in the vice, and hold body with two hands. Did two clear bodies like that with better control.
Be careful with that Tamiya thing. Next thing you know it'll be a rally car, for the trails. Then another road car. They will creep into monthly mayhem. When will it ever end? n+1 that's when. Happy new year! Oh and Nice knife.
I made this comment, well i assembled it. Lol, Happy New Years Matt. I think youll definitely enjoy onroad carpet racing. Its a blast and a fun opposite from crawling
Ha ha, I finally have my M-08 on the bench and the last of the reasonably priced hop-ups I could find are filtering in. Nice coincidence, I am going with a HW XR10 Juststock and 17.5T, Reefs 299 (got one of the red ones) and my trusty FS BS6. My 1st Tamiya build hoping the HW combo isn't too much for this kit. Probably went overkill on my Electronics, but I'm that guy 🙃
Nice. I've just ordered myself my first Mini-z awd evo for some indoor carpet/smooth surface driving. Although I'm setting it up more for drifting and don't plan on racing it since there isn't any nearby me. Looks like fun though.
Another great episode, Happy New Year! I’ve been looking at the Proxxon lineup to replace my 30+ year old Craftsman rotary tool, the old girl is on its last legs 😂
Neat knife. You should have take me up on my offer for some ebony, mahogany or old teak (all of it so old that it's from proper rainforest destruction, and probably banned. None of that modern plantation crap), that I threw out during one of your livestreams. :p I made some croquet mallets from mahogany and ebony this summer. I probably spent like a thousand bucks, if not more, worth of old rainforest to make one for myself, one for the wife and one for our oldest son. They turned out beautiful though. 😎
Should have bought a wired dremel! Mine's going stronk after 12 years! (maybe because 220 volts AC) Tbh, Proxxon is definatly a step up. Nice upgrade! Happy New Year!
Well thats a cool knife. That's not a knife.. That's your knife. Hahaha. I should look into one of those. We have a Lee's valley. Haha. Fun to see you build a make a knife. Well..... Assemble it anyways. Lol. Hope you have a great new years. See you in 2023. BTW. Those are cool tools, and love that carpet racer. Should do a ken block theme for the body.
I just got done watching last night takeover now I got the last what’s on the next weekly to watch sweet! Matt you and josh are killing it! Keep it up. Can I use traxxas lexan paint with tamiya lexan paint? I need chrome bumper on a lexan body
No way! An ACTUAL knife, was ACTUALLY built! Haha!!! Awesome man.
The Knife joke never gets old LOL. Happy New Year!!! here's to another great year of RC.
The knife joke does get old. It's over burnt out
But not to us...the viewers. Its like a sit com. Historic jokes... well done
Thank you and Happy New Year!
Booze and cigarette sponsored cars are always the fastest. 🤙🏼❤️ Thanks for getting us all through 2022!
Rumbum racing. Channel your inner Hemistorm
An outlaw paintjob would be cool on that Porsche body. Like the Magnus Walker, urban outlaw porches
I used to race 4wd touring car on carpet. Was a ton of fun, never worried about winning. Just had fun and did the best I could. Just enjoy the time on the track.
Matt, once you get your scales on that knife how you want them, send them to Josh to scan and then 3D print molds for forged carbon versions! Lol
So many legendary liveries for the Porsche in my mind. Rothmans, Gulf, Martini, Vaillant, Jägermeister, Sunoco and many more🤩 The Name vor the pinkone is in German "Rennsau"
Greetz Andy
Josh is going to be so jealous of your new tool.. that was nice of you mom to still keep you safe. I want one know,so quit. Really like the carpet car, looks fun.
Just now watched the live stream take over. Last night was the first one Iv missed. I was pissed this morning lol I was killed after work
When doing knives take some painters tape and cover the sharp part of the blade. Your fingers will appreciate it
The classic Gulf livery is always cool but the "pink pig" liver is pretty cool
Awesome, I used to race on carpet oval years ago ,now racing on small concrete oval ,your gonna have a blast weather you win or not 👍🏁🏁🚩🏴🏳🇺🇸
Matt, you need a M07R to go along with that. Handling and predictability are unsurpassed.
The mini bandsaw looks tempting 👀
Love it when you post new tools as I’m a sucker for new tools and new knives.
My wife says I’m a big tool. 😂
Thanks for all you do Matt! It might look cool to inlay some CF into that knife… ✌🏼
The knife is cool. I dunno yer preferences, but, I would oil the handles with butcher block treatment. You can make yer own with white (food grade) mineral oil and beeswax. The store bought stuff has vitamin e added as a stabilizer as well. Pretty stoked to see how you paint that "porsche" body 🤘y'all have a badass day🤘🍻🤘
The martini racing 935 Porsche paint scheme is one of my favs
Proxon is the absolute best rotary tool in the industry
The Phaff Motorsports GT3Pro car would be awesome! The Plaid Porsche is perfect for Canadian winter racing
Their is the Gulf livery and the Martini livery. Those are always classics. Happy new years and best wishes in the new year.
Nice little friction folder, you can get knife kits on Texas knifemakers supply
You should do a retro paint scheme of like back in the 80s when they used to do that circuit
A little lexan isn't to bad. Would like to see your styrene skills on another project. The Earth Roamer was bada$$.
Can wait to see the SBG paint job on the knife
Paint the Porsche like Transformers G1Autobot Jazz (from the 80's show) !
I love the knife shtick. Now when you say you built the knife I can say I watched you build that knife lol.
😂
crawlers are always my favorite but we also race mini-z's for fun! Mini Z Trolls lol
I saw the key chain in the ignition on one of your recent builds. Any future for scale pocket knives to make it into builds?
Happy New Year, good sir. And may another Year of No Lexan be upon us!
The Gulf livery is my favorite!!!

That sounds like a lot of fun! Happy New Year!
Love watching what's on the bench and all your other videos.
Rotary meet knife, knife meet rotary....whizz. Simple projects for simple men.
There is a purple scheme Porsche RWB Rotana 👌👍
The Porsche how’s about the old school jagermeister race tempo would look 👀 great 😊 and have a happy and safe New Year.
🎉Happy New Year Matt and all SBG fans! Great shows and content. I got my start in RC carpet racing with a Tamiya Fox back in the day. Those days races were held in local auditoriums and several church meeting rooms. Sure was a lot of fun. Go have fun Matt!😊
Carpet racing is awesome. Have fun and good luck!
Thanks! Stay tuned!
Best of luck in 2023, happy New year !
I’m heavily going to recommend the gulf livery for the carpet car. Happy new years!
What a chill vibe on that video, very entertaining.
Thanks for watching!
I’ve really enjoyed the W.o.t.B weekly. Can’t wait to see what 2023 brings for this series
Pretty cool you starting a collection of knives that you built 😉 or assembled anyway 😆 🤣
😂
I have that mini band saw. Had it about 10 years now and still works great. Proxxon makes solid tools.
that Proxon table mount will come in handle when you form that knife handle
Martini livery for the Porsche
Happy New Year Matt!!!
The knife joke stays. That’s my vote
Super excited to see some content on racing!
Nice - looks like a very fun racer. Reminds me of gran turismo
Ctr Ruf “yellowbird” fast but hard to drive.
Hey Matt, not sure if it's the same in Canada, but here in the UK we have to apply for a BRCA racing license before you take to the track... I believe you're allowed 3 visits without the license, just to get a feel for it
Another great episode. Will check out Proxxon as my Foredom is really old. Happy New Year.
I gotta say you should do a Magnus walker paint scheme!
The accompanying hand gestures to the intro get me every time. #scalebladersguild
keep it man and yes we enjoy it :D go into RWD Drifting to also indoor and fun :p
Do some training on the track before racing, ask help for tyre prep etc. It's not gonna be fast with those electronics, but you can have fun like with the kamiteks even if it's more serious racing. It's gonna be fun just being at the track with the other racers, just like with crawlers.

HAPPY NREW YEARS!!!!
I love that you're going to do more on road next year. I just completed my Tamiya XV01 WRX STI a couple months ago and have been watching a lot of Formula 1 in preparation to build my F104 Pro II.
I love Formula 1! I never miss a race, and really want to make it to one in Montreal or elsewhere one day!
Happy New Year! I agree knife kits are hard to find..
If I had your styrene skills I'd be building with lexan too.
Paint my fence!
Love your show. Another witty episode. I'm taking your advice and saving for the Pheonix . Happy new year. Look forward to seeing more👍👀👀
I think you'll like it. Thanks for watching and Happy New Year!
You could use your new proxy rotary to shape the handle!
And then the end clip plays 🤣
Great! Now I'm not only hooked on scale crawler...I'm also into Club-racing now. Thanks Matt!🤦♀
Serioulsy though, I just ordered a TT01e Porsche GT3 kit for a racing-club just 40 minutes away. Thanks for the inspiration man!I'm so pumped. I think I go for a classic Gulf livery.

Should I be sorry 😂? Good luck with the racing and Happy New Year to you too!

Keep this coming!
Another great episode. I've always like the Martini and Yokohama liveries. Happy New Year!
Be careful with that Tamiya thing. Next thing you know it'll be a rally car, for the trails. Then another road car. They will creep into monthly mayhem. When will it ever end? n+1 that's when. Happy new year! Oh and Nice knife.
You're not the first person to warn me! Thanks for watching and Happy New Year!
I made this comment, well i assembled it. Lol, Happy New Years Matt. I think youll definitely enjoy onroad carpet racing. Its a blast and a fun opposite from crawling
😂
I look forward to this every week!!
Thank you!
carpet racing, is a good time.
Love the videos , can't wait to see the racing videos , should be fun , Happy New Year , keep up the good work
Happy new year!

Pics on my Instagram, same name ✌
Commented at start of video, and pleasantly surprised to find you have similar setup, maybe I do know what I am doing after all 😂🤣😂
Still my favorite series. Happy New Year to you and Rebecca!
Happy new year!
Happy new year, bud! May 23 bless you with more finished builds and more success!
Thank you! Happy New Year to you as well!
Nice. I've just ordered myself my first Mini-z awd evo for some indoor carpet/smooth surface driving. Although I'm setting it up more for drifting and don't plan on racing it since there isn't any nearby me. Looks like fun though.
Happy new year. I believe the Gulf livery would look excellent on your MO8 body. It just screams fast!!
Another great episode, Happy New Year! I’ve been looking at the Proxxon lineup to replace my 30+ year old Craftsman rotary tool, the old girl is on its last legs 😂
Needs a gulf livery! Hahaha or apple Macintosh livery
Gulf livery! FTW

Also, I was viewer number 666 on this video. That's pretty sweet. :D
Wow! Very cool. Happy New Year!
Happy new year, Matt! It’s been an amazing journey learning from you this year and I can’t wait to see what the lexan lords have for you in 2023
Happy new year! Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
Happy New Year Matt and Rebecca. Thank you for an entertaining year of SBG. Looking forward to 2023.
Happy New Year!
Was it the shell lively the blue and orange
Should have bought a wired dremel! Mine's going stronk after 12 years! (maybe because 220 volts AC) Tbh, Proxxon is definatly a step up. Nice upgrade! Happy New Year!
Oh and i am definatly a Tamiya fanboy, so i approve your next project. ^^
Thanks for watching and Happy New Year!
Looks good Matt just got my M-08 concept. What wheels and tires are those? They look great with that body.
Happy new year! The best show 👌
Happy new year!
Do a Jägermeister or RWB livery. Keep up the good vids Matt!
Also, you should probably put some loctite on the hardware on that knife that you made.... well assembled anyway.
HAPPY NEW YEAR SBG!!
Thank you! Happy New Year to you as well!
Go with the classic Brumos Porsche livery
Well thats a cool knife.
That's not a knife..
That's your knife.
Hahaha.
I should look into one of those.
We have a Lee's valley.
Haha.
Fun to see you build a make a knife.
Well.....
Assemble it anyways.
Lol.
Hope you have a great new years.
See you in 2023.
BTW.
Those are cool tools, and love that carpet racer.
Should do a ken block theme for the body.
Happy New Year to you too! Hope married life is treating you well!
I just got done watching last night takeover now I got the last what’s on the next weekly to watch sweet! Matt you and josh are killing it! Keep it up. Can I use traxxas lexan paint with tamiya lexan paint? I need chrome bumper on a lexan body
Yep, all lexan paint is compatible.
Livery idea, KFC and somewhere on the car would be the phrase “Fastest Chicken on Carpet” lol
Another great episode to close out the year, well done! Happy New Year!
Happy new year!
No ken block theme?
