i don't think the industry has realized yet how many former trainees/idols are on youtube now. they are revealing the truth about how the monster eats and breathes. eventually the horrors of the industry will be laid bare and so widely known that it will begin to negatively effect the pool of talent seeking entry into the industry. there will always be people who charge headlong toward their dream despite the trauma that lays ahead, but little by little the best talent will be frightened out of pursuing a field that will eat them alive. kpop is literally scaring away its own future. but we can't blame the industry, they do this because we ask them to. our demand fuels the monster. it's our fault young people get exploited by really shitty people.

Companies always chooses the most beautiful ones because the "visual holes" will always get boycotted by their own fans for being "ugly". Humanity as whole needs to change
Us fans are also the reason why kpop is getting so harsh. The more we demand, the more we make the companies push the trainees until they just can’t. We are also the reason why some trained longer and didn’t debut, and others debuted even with a short training time. Obviously, not ALL fans are like that. But because if most fans who are demanding more and more, we make the companies be really harsh to the trainees.
The whole bystander thing was exactly the reason I left my dance crew, it was soo upsetting to see people around being bully and mistreated it made me feel super shitty even tho I wasn’t experiencing the mistreatment myself

OMG when you talked about fairness... hit me to the core. I was in the entertainment industry before, quit and started working in a normal job and when people find out that at some point in my life I was in the industry I often get asked why I was not "successful" or why I "gave up".. was it because I was not good at this or that etc. I don't like to talk about it because if I say something like it's not fair it almost makes me seem like a "sore loser" in their eyes. It was the first time in my life where what I heard all my childhood "study hard and get good grades" does not work. Thank you girls
you can't really blame the girl for dating the ceo cause there's no way she did it voluntarily, especially when he's 20 years older than her. She's a victim too. Also even if she did approach him first its crazy how she's the only one being painted as the villian, rich and powerful men get away with everything
You can tell Gina has reflected on this a lot. No matter what the overall experience was, she definitely took some solid lessons out of it all. Very well spoken about them.

Don't quote me on that, I'm not an expert, I'm just making a suggestion. On a semi-related-but-not-really note, one company that I do believe is shifting the k-pop industry in a better direction is Starship Entertainment. They let their idols speak freely about subjects which are controversial in Korea (LGBTQ, BLM, gender roles, the age hierarchy, etc), there's no suggestion of abuse towards their idols, and hell after Wonho left Monsta X they created a sub-company so they could continue to represent him as a solo artist (Wonho used the money from being a k-pop idol to support his family, so they literally made a new company so he didn't have to lose that 😭) Fun Fact (I just think it's adorable and I need to share): Taeyoung (from CRAVITY) had his hair dyed LGBTQ flag colors including the LGBTQ flag (rainbow), the bisexual flag (blue, purple, and pink), and the lesbian flag (orange, white, and pink) :)

Once people come into power, it's like they can't get off without harming another human being or taking someones innocence. How hard is it to just date within your age group, have a happy relationship and stay monogamous. Why is that a fantasy?
Even if someone wants to date outside of their age group, when it's a teenager, esp. a younger teen, it smacks of pedophilia. Make no mistake, the "dating" isn't about shared life/romantic experiences when there's that large an age gap (20+ yrs). It's about taking sexual advantage of someone over whom you hold power.
Not at YG recruiting his now wife as a trainee, when she was aged 16. Rumour has it he let her group flop, so he could have her. He obviously stood a better chance with an ex-member of a defunct girl group. Had he supported Swi.T, they could have gone on to bigger and better things, placing her out of his grasp.
There was an "incident" in the german media last year where around 185 actors and actresses outed themselves as part of LGBTQ+. I sometimes think about how that may be a possibility for kpop idols as well. If they can get enough people who want to "out themselves" or maybe say that they're dating - nobody not even the companies or fans could cancel all groups. There must be at least two idols in each group who could benefit from such a collective scandal that takes away the pressure of a single individual 🤔
It's a dark topic because the shady "adults" are targeting kids and exploiting them. Also, I really like the way Gina says, "EwWw!" She's such a cool person! There should be a Start Up for singers to help with promotions and fanmeets.

that's why kpop idols doesn't necessarily means kpop artists Edit : some people took my words the wrong way. I was just stating a fact, if you don't create, you're not an artist. Period. But that doesn't mean that those who are just idols are just puppets. *IDOL IS NOT AN INSULT.* An idol is a music performer and not every music performer can do the same. *not everyone can do what dreamcatcher, stray kidz or loona do for example*.
I feel like crying for these idols. 😭 i cannot imagine the terrible things they could have experienced as trainees and when they debut, they get all these bashing like really below the belt. Like man, they did not experience all the hardships as trainess just so people can bash them.. kpop industry is starting to scare me
I wouldn't say it is worse, it is just shitty but not worse, I was abused before and while it was frustrating that people would do nothing but I would still be thankful to them they are not like abusers and at least I could have some nice conversations. They are not friend material but definitely not as bad as abusers, especially when you have no one of your friends around it help to keep sane if you can at least talk with someone without being trashed.
I don't agree to that quote because it does not apply to everyone. When I was in elementary I had this girl classmate who was being bullied by my 3 other girl classmates. Seeing that, I befriend her and does not let her left alone. After some time guess what? I became the next target. And you know what's worse? the girl that I helped didn't helped me and the remaining girls in my class sided with the bullies (There are only 7 girls in my class including me). Yes, I am mad at all of them. However, I also understand why the other girls didn't helped me that time because they know the moment they helped me they will be the next target. And most of the time bystanders are like that. They are also helpless and feel that they aren't powerful enough to stop the abuser. The safe choice for them is to be silent so that they will not be the next victim.
@Sugaシ Okay so with that reasoning, why doesn't the abused do something about it? If fear is stopping them, maybe fear is stopping someone else as well. Also, because the abuser had a bad/traumatic experience, it's fine for them to take it out on you? And someone who is a bystander is somehow worse than someone who is inflicting the pain? Nah. Doesn't sit right with me. I do agree that it's crappy for people not to help, but if you're going to consider what the bully has gone through, then maybe first consider what the bystander has gone through. Don't take an ounce of responsibility away from abusers. They are first and foremost the bad ones. A bystander could also be bad, but not worse.

The ever-changing status of the entertainment industry is so true. In Kpop, we have plenty of examples of this: groups will have a story about a member who was in a company for years alongside another member who maybe only trained for a few months. It happens, and there's always someone newer or younger who is just as hungry for a spot. This is because entertainment is fickle, and everyone's looking for the next "it" person. It's a shame when you hear those stories from people in groups that have debuted, and we sometimes forget of the many other people who trained for similar periods of time who never made it.

i don't think the industry has realized yet how many former trainees/idols are on youtube now. they are revealing the truth about how the monster eats and breathes. eventually the horrors of the industry will be laid bare and so widely known that it will begin to negatively effect the pool of talent seeking entry into the industry. there will always be people who charge headlong toward their dream despite the trauma that lays ahead, but little by little the best talent will be frightened out of pursuing a field that will eat them alive. kpop is literally scaring away its own future.
but we can't blame the industry, they do this because we ask them to. our demand fuels the monster. it's our fault young people get exploited by really shitty people.

It's a dark topic because the shady "adults" are targeting kids and exploiting them.

well said
THANK U
yes, very well said
They're not artists because they don't create anything alone. They're puppets.
@@ALIAOUTSIDERtarotreadings I disagree with that one. Read my edit
I really respect you and hearing your story was moving.
고마워요 언니!!
“ it shouldn’t be like this, I should have my dream” 😭😭🥲🥲
I feel like crying for these idols. 😭 i cannot imagine the terrible things they could have experienced as trainees and when they debut, they get all these bashing like really below the belt. Like man, they did not experience all the hardships as trainess just so people can bash them.. kpop industry is starting to scare me
Remember what Ko Mun Yoeng said in It's okay to not be okay, "The one who neglects and turns blind eye to the abuse is worse than abuser."
@@tealotter5620 yeah i agree on that. It really depends on the situation.
I just checked Gina's Instagram and IU follows her. Daaamn!!! I bet she's been friends with lots of idols who debuted a long time now since she knows wonder girls and kowon jo from 2AM too.
Gina looks so much like Lia from itzy when she laughs or smiles 😭
Much respect. As much as I have my favorite idols, groups and songs, so many young people are exploited because of the glitz and glam. Artistry isn't the only casualty of the industry, which is so sad. But I'm glad you still have your passion for music! If you pui it on spotify, (or any streaming service) I'll be sure to give it a stream. I'm glad to see Gina is doing good as well! Best of luck to the both of you.
Gina and Coco are stunning, real and well articulated. This is the first video I watch from them, one of many...
gina is so beautiful and well spoken.
Awestruck with how eloquent Gina is
Gina, you shine so bright. Everything you did in life made you who you are now and you’re inspirational. Bless your heart ❤️ if you do a Q&A here’s my question: if you knew everything then that you know now, when would you have quit?
Omg both of u need a big warm hug especially since its snowing in korea ~~ Kpop industry is a hard place to be big unless u have connections from what im seeing~~
Loves from Singapore!
You've worked hard, weathered a lot and grew from experience. Now you're doing your own things! You're talented, sweet, and charming. Proud of you always! Looking forward to your upcoming colour of music 💖
thank you ren always!🥺😭❤️
@@Rilaccoco Don't count on those big companies ...You have many CEO , producers that also teach at University or coaching idols ...And those composers , that run many activities , worked for some well known artists ...Please...If you are interested in singing , arts or joining a band...Start collaboring or do small steps with ...The good side ..you 'll find cooler ones and be free ..What matters ...It's not fame or being an idol ...It's 1% of the whole opportunity ...Prove you can work it out and starting a job....Plus...S.Korea is so huge ...You can still record , write , modelling or be an artist before or without starting or being under those 3 or 5 big companies that are still reliable and successful thanks to some unknown pple and talents ....They are still labels or songwriters that no one mind but worked for those last ...Good luck and I really wish I could hear ur singing ...I liked ur personality good luck !!!!!
I fell in love. What a well-spoken, smart and wise girl. Gotta go subscribe to her.
Considering everything she's been though she has such a bright and warm personality
I am happy that both of you are still in a positive way after all the negativity you both have been through. You both have so much integrity after all this.
Hearing about all of this now made me appreciate rbw and how they give some kind of freedom to their artists just like mamamoo🥺❤
this is why im kinda sad bc ive always thought about joining the entertainment industry since i love singing and dancing since young, but i know about all the cons and so many disadvantages and unfairness.. so I have no choice but not to follow that path as a job and do it as a hobby instead
I'm just like you but what differs us is that Id rather try then deal with the regret for not trying my whole life. Who knows maybe you could get a good company even tho its not that famous... I hope you do what ever your heart desires and I hope you become successful 😙
you two are so strong for going through what you went through and I hope you're proud of yourselves for chasing after your dreams. wish you the best 언니들!❤

In Gina’s personal vlog though, she’s been praising JYPE and said it “feels like home.”
@@veeveegem
Got7 case is because their fans over babied them . Its an industry ( in the company eyes ) . JYP himself can't and won't take care of you forever just when you're trainee ( debutee prospect ) or your below 3 years in debut . After your 3 years is between yourself/group and the company .
@@evanyong5871 yh but the company is responsible for them, responsible with promoting them and many other things. Got7 was forgotten.
@@veeveegem could you put the link cause for some reason I couldn't find it
@@evanyong5871 umm no one babied anyone wtf are you talking about?? The fans don’t expect JYP to take care of them forever they expect the company to promote them like they should and give them a bit more artistic freedom
Can we talk about how pretty she is? I bet she’s very talented and would be a great idol if she got the chance
This is so sad but so important to talk about.
I absolutely love this video. Thanks for sharing a bit more about the industry we all know nothing about. Also it’s a shame you both couldn’t make it to fulfill your dream...but know that there’s people out there liking what you girls do anyway. Gina and Coco fighting!! 💜
i hope it can shed some light to those deciding to devote their lives to this industry! better to know than it all being a surprise.
Those companies lost diamonds in search of gold .
That's all I wanna say .
One more thing , they both win my heart in very first interaction of the video.
I am their fan forever .
Most of the idols who gets to debut come from a very very rich family so if you come from a rich family you will surely debut
Yes ....... I don't know why nobody talks about it anywhere , esp. when one of grp members come out as a relative/acquaintance of company's boss , i am like WHAT ???? ( It is possible that these rich trainees are nice people , talented , deserving ,etc but still feel bad coz they MIGHT be debuting by paying / bribing companies .....n it happens in every industry )
Agreed. There are 100% going to be exceptions to this (Wonho, IU, Taeyang, Sandara Park, Eunhyuk, and even Taeyoung/V), but you can't ignore the fact that the vast majority of idols grew up privileged. Many took dance and vocal lessons from a young age, and while I would never try to delegitimize their talent and hard work in the industry, they definitely had a leg-up over other people with less opportunities.
@@nevereverigoteyesonyou8377 sounds like a good way for the companies to make money.

I'm not interested in kpop but I appreciate how well spoken the both of you are on how serious these issues are. I wish only the best for the careers of you both!
thank you so much for stopping by!
Your friend is very well spoken, I can hear the experinence in her voice, really amazing story teller, I felt all the emotions like I was the one there. Her 15 years isnt for noght, it made her very intelligent and graceful :) you explain and give such color to your voice
