This turned out pretty badass! Jetting sounds pretty close to me, plug looks chocolate brown which is good. Keep running at least a 32:1 premix, if not the 28:1 ratio you ran in it in this video. Sparkplugs are cheaper than pistons!
28:1?? Lol not with a liquid cooled engine.. The clearences are a lot tighter and your better off running a low ask oil 36 or 40:1.. premium boils nowadays are a lot better
I really like watching your channel Joe, you've revived so many sweet machines! I do the same kind of work but you definitely have more experience than me. I'm really impressed that you're doing this essentially on your own, in super cold weather. It makes sense that a lot of the machines still run on the lean side, even after you upsize the jets. The 3-hit combo between oversize bores, free flowing intakes & exhausts, and ridiculously cold air will need significantly more fuel, oftentimes even more than you'd expect. You know all this already, but I was surprised to find out that sometimes going up 5 or even 10 on the main jet still isn't adequate for a proper fuel mixture at full throttle.
Idk why everyone is under the impression of running richer after a rebuild...never understood that...u run w.e ur going to continue to run...as long as you run the break in the correct way with the heat cycles going richer is just blast for me...idk...ive raced 2 strokes in the 4 wheeler class and the one was a zilla...and after receiving the zilla we did a top end...ran 40:1 from the moment it was new til the day I sold it after being done with racing...with many hours on it...and it ran flawless...even for the new owner for years......side note tho ..thing sounds great n good job man!!
Dude, that was a sweet video! What a kick ass quad! That is so inspirational and only gives me that much more determination to save up and buy a quad!!! Keep up the good work Joe!!! That was f&$%@#g awesome!!!
I think it's running a little lean on the pilot, unless it's running a bit rich on the main. You should try a 180 main or 5 down from what was in it and then a 60 for the pilot or 5 up and see if it's any better.
the more oil you add to premix the leaner the Air fuel ratio will be because the is there is less gasoline molecules and more oil molecules I read this in Dirtbike or motocross action many years ago. so 32 to 1 oil mix will have a leaner air fuel mixture than 50 to 1. I didnt get it at first but it makes sense.
Damn son, if ya gonna send it that fast on the pavement, you should consider wearing road race leathers. Asphalt sucks when it's being scrapped out of your skin. Frikin awesome ride though.
The only road trip he goes on, is to his parents house, to ride around in circles, or straight line on a bitumen road. Not one of his video's ever shows him riding anywhere else.
I wish I lived closer because I would be your test pilot on opening up anything you have with a engine. Sweet quad though, it's a beast. Keep up the good work, your a very knowledgeable guy.
Great t see your persistence pay off. Good find on the piston protrusion. Those front knobby tires are going to need a dirt road or switch to street tires for those speeds. I think the plug is a little lean for my taste. I would stay with 32:1 mix and try those jets awhile.
If its been bored over that much you cant rely on the stock jetitng numbers you gotta find it yourself by riding it and plugs. I doubt it'll blow up again though since you noticed the piston edge coming above the cylinder. Id never sell it once it mint itll only keep increasing in value if you hold it & then you can enjoy that beast for years.
I can’t figure y most people cut front fenders I know racing saves weight but with eyeful of mud ,water ,sand. Ur losing time even googles never could figure that out few pounds or face full of mud. I’ll take pounds any day. Sweet ride brother. U finally got her going good. Them quadzillas was hard to start almost new. Good job 👍🏻
Still a little lean on the main in my humble opinion but good job bro! 💯🤘🏻there's no smoke even at wot so I'm thinking you're still lean.. no hate it would just suck if it pops again! Haha I run a 48 pilot and a 170 main with the needle in the third clip position on my yz250.
My ankle hurts every time I see you kick it over, memories of that kick starter being so boxed in and slippery when you don't have the right footwear coming back to haunt me I guess!
I use to be a professional desert and grand pre racer. I raced the 250 in GP’s and 500 in desert/Baja’s. We got the 500 dirt bikes over 100 easily and I remember trying to pass the Pro quad riders on the Quadzilla’s of course our bikes and there quads were heavily modified but I know I would be going over 100 and the quads were not easy to pass they were going 100 +. So with the right gearing you can get it even faster. Lol I don’t think it needs it. It sounds pretty good as far as jetting but I know everyone has there own way but I’ve ran 40:1 for 35 years now on everything I have that’s 2 stroke. Lol even my weed eater. I’ve always had great luck with that mixture. 32:1 always seemed to rich and I’d be failing plugs. 50:1 always was to lean. But that was just my testing and sweet spot for me. You run what you’re comfortable with that way you will be happy with your decision not anyone else’s. I wish I was closer I would ride that thing for you. The reason it’s not handling good on asphalt is it’s made for the dirt obviously LOL but you could put street tires or slicks on it and it would handle better but you would have to probably extend your alarms by 2 inches. Great videos I’m a huge fan keep it up thank you for putting great content on UA-cam. As much as I know about wrenching I have learned a lot from you stuff I knew but was great seeing how you did it.
It's a pretty cool quad Joe! That quadzilla engine alone is worth the most of whole build. Good for your collection! Do you keep your machines w/batteries on a "digital battery tender" in winter mos?
The idle is not low! That's how a big bore 2-stroke should idle. That carb slide is pretty worn and should be replaced also. How do you know what the needle position should be if you don't know what needle it has or what needle the "chart" was using?
I have a 39mm pwk carb on my Zilla with a sixty thousandths bore and v-force 3 reeds ant the CT fat bastard pipe and I'm running a 175 main with a 56 pilot and I tuned my bike by doing the plug chop method and it was spot on with those jets
Go up on the main especially in the winter. You will need to rejet in summer. A plug chop will show the evidence. Also shift that girl. Fun build though!
Keep this quad for sure joe it's a weapon mate cracking job you've done on this hard work pays for sure yeah don't want to see you die either would miss all the good content stay safe mate quality video man all the best enjoy 🔧🔧🔧👍👌
You may not get rid of the wobble. Street tires would help out if your going to ride it on the road. Just remember it’s made for the dirt. It might be lean now in the cold but will get richer as it warms up.
That thing falls on its face when you hit 5th gear. Drop 2 teeth on front sprocket so you’ll continue to make power/rpm’s in 5th. And replace all bushings bearings and or tie rod ends.
Hes obcessed with top speed for some reason.kids for ya. But i guess if you dont know how to ride i guess i would just want to ride in a straight line too😎
My Dad and Uncle would carry a lot of extra plugs they always fouled up no matter how good it was running, the thing is a BEAST.
Congrats on working it out. Don't ever sell it, you WILL regret it if you do.
He should let me buy that
This is an amazing vehicle! Definitly one of a kind! No one ever said they had a Yamazuki Quadshee... :P
Still revving it like a 125 . I'm surprised it didn't blow up this time .
Christ, if these machines were built that dainty there wouldn’t be ANY wheels on the market right now from the time. Stop being a pansy
Those are for reving😂

Two stroke are born sick as hell
Love how excited you get Joe, great job!

couldnt hurt to have a higher ply tire with steel belts too lol sooo fast! nice job brother, be safe :)

40-1 is better
40:1
Dude, that was a sweet video! What a kick ass quad! That is so inspirational and only gives me that much more determination to save up and buy a quad!!! Keep up the good work Joe!!! That was f&$%@#g awesome!!!
It sounds much better than last time!!! It's a beast now!!
You got balls man going that fast with ATV tires on a paved road ! Kudos to you !
The wobble is from the J arm setup thats why they discontinued them !
Nice work 👍🏻👍🏻
Still sounds like it's breaking up at high rpm
I think it's running a little lean on the pilot, unless it's running a bit rich on the main. You should try a 180 main or 5 down from what was in it and then a 60 for the pilot or 5 up and see if it's any better.
Street tires would be wise for those speeds.
That needs bigger jets that iss so splutters bro or the choke is on or broke that should hit bands with no splutter mid top range
@@rideman9846 you heard that too thought it was me LOL looks like it needs new wheel bearings
I done something similar with a Yamaha blaster and a Suzuki lt230 engine turned out badass
Good lord thats a fucking demon
Damm Joe, I'm waiting for u to kick it over, and u keep stepping on on the kicker!!! U had me stressing.🤔
Definitely my favorite build of all time and a build I would love to do myself to keep in my collection of bikes and wouldn't sell it at all
Bro your bugging out that thing is scary fast 😳, great video as usual friend
the more oil you add to premix the leaner the Air fuel ratio will be because the is there is less gasoline molecules and more oil molecules I read this in Dirtbike or motocross action many years ago. so 32 to 1 oil mix will have a leaner air fuel mixture than 50 to 1. Thats because oil is no replacement for gas. Less gas means more lean
Damn son, if ya gonna send it that fast on the pavement, you should consider wearing road race leathers. Asphalt sucks when it's being scrapped out of your skin. Frikin awesome ride though.
Video idea: go on a road trip to rip it out on the dunes somewhere. May need paddle tires though.
also maybe DIY alignment on this quad lol
The only road trip he goes on, is to his parents house, to ride around in circles, or straight line on a bitumen road. Not one of his video's ever shows him riding anywhere else.
@@wisecampmotorcycles8258 i agree but he’s a good machine you can tell he don’t know how to ride. Lol
also cold weather runs leaner because the air is more dense has more O2 in it.
I wish I lived closer because I would be your test pilot on opening up anything you have with a engine. Sweet quad though, it's a beast. Keep up the good work, your a very knowledgeable guy.
might wanna go up a size or 2 on the main jet still sounds a bit lean. pilot jet seems to be close if not spot on tho
Yeah I might go up to a 190 main. Just to be extra safe.
@@2vintage i would. just seems to break up on the top end witch makes me think its still a bit lean
@@2vintage either a 190 or move the needle up a notch or two
@@2vintage brother name your price
Great t see your persistence pay off. Good find on the piston protrusion. Those front knobby tires are going to need a dirt road or switch to street tires for those speeds. I think the plug is a little lean for my taste. I would stay with 32:1 mix and try those jets awhile.
He's at 28:1 fuel mix.
The drone footage is a nice touch.
Badass Joe! Keep up the great work. We always look forward to watching your vids

Hes not running stock jetting
Love that quad 🤘🤘
Love the 500 content and nice drone footage!
U definitely need to keep this one it's only going up in value bro
love the aerial footage at the end
Man I love when you upload
You can tell when he enjoys riding something, when mom n dad's back 40 ain't covered in snow anymore 🤣. Dig ur videos pal keep it up!
It was a Good Idea to end on a good note, its running very close to spot on, you didn't blow it up, and No Deaths in the family !
Front tire tread looks backwards so that could have a lot to do with the wobble as well.
Just swap the wheels over
@@bigmac.. yeah I know lol
The Quadzilla was a 500cc Suzuki single cylinder. Cool down warm up just ride it. You should only ride a Breeze.
I can’t figure y most people cut front fenders I know racing saves weight but with eyeful of mud ,water ,sand. Ur losing time even googles never could figure that out few pounds or face full of mud. I’ll take pounds any day.

She's a keeper Joe.
That things a cheek flapper for sure!
Awesome bike man. I would get some Banzilla decals made forthe rear fenders. Just a thought😁🇺🇸. Good job God bless

Don’t do it!! We like your videos don’t get hurt it not worth it. You proved its fast already. Stay safe.
go to a 60 pilot and a 190 main drop your needle one ring and try it
Loving the content I'm planning on buying something you fixed before so I can give it shot keep going bro big motivation hyped for the turbo 400
Awesome video man
Sounding good that’s a badass quad I’m glad you held on doing 76 those jeans wouldn’t have saved much skin
I've noticed in alot of videos that u way over Rev between gears unless it's just your audio? Otherwise I enjoy your video's keep em coming!!!!!
I have a 39mm pwk carb on my Zilla with a sixty thousandths bore and v-force 3 reeds ant the CT fat bastard pipe and I'm running a 175 main with a 56 pilot and I tuned my bike by doing the plug chop method and it was spot on with those jets
I HOPE IT BLOWS UP AGAIN !!!!
😂 get a life
Great video and build glad to see you got her going and running well the thing is a beast dude hope you keep it that thing has a lot of potential👍🏼😎🤩
Now keep in mind you have the fuel mix at 28:1 and fat jets , when you switch the fuel mixture and warmer temps that's going to run different .
Go up on the main especially in the winter. You will need to rejet in summer. A plug chop will show the evidence. Also shift that girl. Fun build though!
That is one of the best quads ever made and the Honda 250 R
Keep this quad for sure joe it's a weapon mate cracking job you've done on this hard work pays for sure yeah don't want to see you die either would miss all the good content stay safe mate quality video man all the best enjoy 🔧🔧🔧👍👌
Yamazuki Banzilla🌗🔥
Awsome machines they are unstoppable keep it never sell value will only go up on them
That thing is insane
Damn I can't wait to see the new track
I had a clapped out Zilla when I was a kid. It would hit 94 mph before it run out of gearing. Had a 15 tooth front sprocket
Richen the Air screw a tad. Will calm that lean idle after a run.
Soon as u get the ports cleared up,ThAT bike is gonna be a monster..👍👍
Great run
Need to short shift it to accelerate fast on these. They have great low end torque, not to much in the high end
I think its still off on the jetting, awesome bike man 👍glad it's finally running
You can get a string stabilizer for it for like 150$ for a cheap one and that will help with the shaking to and handling
Nope. j arm problem.turd bird
You can change the pilot and main through the float bowl drain
Alaska say love your videos I ride a 04 banshee good luck to you
Hell yeah !!!!! Crusin now joey
Sounds Awesome.
Be wise to change the front upper and lower bushings $20. And the wheel bearings $15. Will do it heavenly amount of justice
the quad is great but what a stable shot that drone gets
have you thought about lowering the quad and extending the a arms ?? this would be an awesome daily road hell raiser :D some cool road tyres too
SHE IS FASTTT!! 🔥🔥
Yeah that has to b a thrill ride!!!
Can’t wait for the next turbo 400 video this thing and that need to race when you get the 400 running good
Wow yea new tires would help maybe try again after that good job buddy
How is it through the trails?? Is it actually good enough to go ride for few hours...
I’ll come do it for you! Always on for the thrill no
Matter the cost! In Minnesota too
Hey Joe where do you buy all your jets from?
Awesome bud.
I have never fouled a ngk iridium plug on several 2 strokes. BR8EIX.
You may not get rid of the wobble. Street tires would help out if your going to ride it on the road. Just remember it’s made for the dirt. It might be lean now in the cold but will get richer as it warms up.
You should do street front and back tire top speed run.. wobble would be with street tires
Bro Ik it’s a powerful quad but u wasn’t getting no real speed cause I think u was a little bit scared of her but u earned my sub 🤟🏾😂
What you need is an AIRPORT to speed test that beast!
BANZILLA!!! 😃👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What do you do, with all the ATV and MC you fix? Could you maybe make a video on it?
you might even try coming out or in an eighth to a quarter on the airspeed screw
Oh look it's a Banzilla! hehe
I would love to come and ride Banshee Quadzilla
That thing falls on its face when you hit 5th gear. Drop 2 teeth on front sprocket so you’ll continue to make power/rpm’s in
5th. And replace all bushings bearings and or tie rod ends.
I was thinking same thing. Especially since he can do over 30 in first.
Hes obcessed with top speed for some reason.kids for ya. But i guess if you dont know how to ride i guess i would just want to ride in a straight line too😎
