Just finished mine 😮💨after 4 days. Being my first time with the sewing machine was a challenge 😂but im very happy with the results, thank you for the tutorial❤
I just grabbed my sewing machine from storage after years, and this was the first video I followed. It was super fun and easy!! I haven’t taken if off since I finished. Thank you!
After about 48 years of having super short hair, last year I decided to let my top grow out (sides and back shaved). Turns out I have curly hair!!! Am 54 years old and learning how to take care of curly hair now. Been thinking about making one of these and your tutorial is great. I'm also super jealous of that material. I'm a sucker for green. Thank you!
I want to get some bonnets to take better care of my hair, and there's no stores that sell them where I live, so I was looking for a tutorial to make one without an elastic. Elastics are a granted headache for me. Thanks for this clear tutorial! Def saving it in my favorites.
I have a few elastic ones that are great! But after long days the tension tend to just give me headaches sometimes. Plus the size i have is starting to be too small with my hair getting longer. Im excited to try this tutorial out!!
I think I’m going to try spandex fabric and combine with your long braid pattern. Tying up my hair sometimes gives me migraines but this is definitely cute! 💙
Awesome tutorial, thanks! How much smaller do you think I could make it for a Caucasian 7 yo? My daughter HATES brushing her hair, I want something for her for when she’s sleeping to cut down on tangles. Obviously this is way bigger than she would need, both because she’s a kid and because her hair has no volume Also, a quick tip: try starching the satin before you sew with it. It’ll feel corse and papery, but the starch will wash out in a few washes. Starched satin handles like quilters cotton, it presses nicely and doesn’t slip all over. Sooooo much nicer to work with
Woow!! Such an amazing tutorial. Love your background music. Watched all the way. Just joined your UA-cam family so that I can see more of your videos.
Thanks for the video the bonnet looks fabulous 👍🏾 What is your tension set on through out the rest of the project? I understand the highest tension is used to gather the fabric on the perimeter of the bonnet. But what tension should I use for the remainder? Also should I use the long straight stitch pattern the whole time?
Hey Muffie thank you so much for clicking on this video and supporting me. So the highest tension is to make the gatherings and when you are done with the gathers set the tension back to 3 or 4. The stitch just would depend on how long you want it. But for the gathers make sure you have the longest stitch. I hope my explanation is a bit clear.
Hello😊 This is an excellent tutorial. A couple of questions, please. Does the fabric need to be silk satin or is poly satin ok? Could you use a very fine cotton lawn or plisse?
Hey Happy Bubble, Thank you for watching. So the hole or arch at the back of the bonnets it's so that you can easily put it on around the head because you wouldn't have an elastic for it to stretch around your head. The hole does not have to be big too. I hope I answered the question.
Will the gathers only be created on silk? I tried to make it on cotton and it didn't work at all. I had all the settings as in the video. does the needle or thread matter?
Hey Mmaditshaba🤗🤗 Thank you for watching this video. So for every fabric you definitely use different sizes of needles. For light weight fabrics like the satin or silk I use 11 is for the American needle size and for European size 75 smaller size needles if you get will work too
Hie Sane, you my new favourite A quick one, maybe i missed it Why does the bonnet have that kinda opening i mean the small circle, lol i donno wat it is exactly kk
Hey Sandisiwe It’s just a style so that it’s easy for the head to easily slip into the bonnet and be able to tie properly. Your opening does not be as big as mine or you don’t necessarily have to have an opening. However as long as you are able to get your head into the bonnet and be able to tie your bonnet. I hope I answered your question.
Very well answered i was actually thinking od something like that too but wasnt sure how to go about it. Thanks a milli Will send snaps wen i finally make it
Hey Darienne, thank you for watching the video 🤗🤗 I just quickly googled your machine and the length of your stich should be 4 (that is by the wheel) The tension on top has to be the highest number. I hope that works. Please keep me updated if that works or if everything made sense.
Hey Rose welcome to my channel thank you so much for your support 😊 I have actually never made for a child but, I would start with a radius of 10 inches. I would say for the ties leave them to be 28inches long. I hope this helps.
Hello Maria, I would like to apologize for a late reply I was taking a break off YT. But would you kindly take the circumference of your granddaughters head circumference and kindly use those measurements following the tutorial. I hope this helps and I am sure it will come out beautifully 🥰.
Hey Miss Jay 😊🤗🤗 Thank you for stopping by my channel to watch my video and leaving a comment 💃💃 So with this method of gathering you don't have to do any gathering the sewing machine does all the work for you. The 9icnh is the highest number on my sewing machine. I am not sure whats the highest number on yours. Then set the longest stich. The gatherings would happen on their own. Please try it and let me know the outcome. Happy sewing 🪡😊
why not u create and try to sell on line, am sure there will be ppl buy, if u just do a bit of demo on yr product, be out of the box, i can see there are somethg u can do more...keep it up..❤
Hey Dink baby 🤗 For this tutorial I connected two strips of fabric together 5" by 41" (joined together made 5"x82")... But I would not advise that you join the two anymore 🙈 because after some time the sticth may rip off which has happened for one of my clients. So I would recommend if you have a 2yards (Which is 72inches) fabric to cut it along the two yards and don't join it. So the measurements for the tie would be 5" x 72" so that you have the long ties. I hope my explanation makes sense.
@@dinkbaby9563 I am so sorry I was not clear on the tutorial. I will try and make another clear one. However if you look closely after 05:59 into the video the belt is joined together. I know it's hard to see. 🙈

What was the length of the long piece of fabric that you tied ?
Hey Red,
I am so sorry for a late reply I have been taking a YT break,
I would recommend making the long piece or ties to be 35inches
It looks fantastic! Thank you so much for posting this!! Excuse my ignorance but what purpose does the small hole serve?
Hey Happy Bubble,
Thank you for watching.
So the hole or arch at the back of the bonnets it's so that you can easily put it on around the head because you wouldn't have an elastic for it to stretch around your head.
