For those of us in the desert southwest, what do you do with your wall in the winter, when you don't want cool night air (as low as 25-30 degrees on the coldest nights) coming through your permeable cardboard wall? @@justgivemethetruth Most of the year AZ is very dry but durring Monsoon season it gets extremely humid. It lasts from the latter part of June through September. It's not constant but irratic and sometimes without warning. Just this year we had a gazeebo out there without the covering on it and Monsoons kicked up over night an threw it over the fence and wrecked it before we even got to use it for the first time this year. That was just the naked frame all by itself. Without a permanent structure to do it in Gardening in Az is nearly impossible. I was a novice gardener with a green house when I should've been using a shade house! Temperatures exceeded 120 degrees F in the green house and the only things I was able to grow were Hydroponic lettuce and tomatoes. Everything else just died due to all the rapid changes in the environment. AZ weather isn't always gentle or consistent. Even my dragon fruit got water logged and died in the monsoons. They don't like water at all and the monsoons just dumped it on them!

  • @alexkuhlmann
    @alexkuhlmann 3 роки тому +1

    I found an excellent formula to determine the size of cooling pad that you will need depending on your greenhouse footprint. "The amount of pad area needed is calculated by multiplying the floor area by 8 feet and dividing by 250 for a 4-inch pad or 400 for a 6-inch pad. For example, a 30- x 100-foot greenhouse with a 4-inch pad would require 96 sq.ft. of pads (30 x 100 x 8÷ 250 = 96 sq.ft.)
