Here is a little history lesson for you all: Dr. Dre discovered Eminem. Eminem discovered 50 Cent which is why he was the surprise guest. Everyone who performed was listed on the lineup. Special thanks goes to Dre for paying for the halftime show at a cost of 9 million and Anderson Pak on drums. He will make that back in advertising. A lot of us Gen-Xers and Millenials felt young again when that beat dropped, lol! I haven't enjoyed a half-time show this much in years! Also, it has to be said that several former LSU players were in this Superbowl, so I was very proud of all of them, no matter who won :)
My daddy taught me Les Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. My mom taught me Emmylou Harris and Buddy Holly. My biggest brother (elder Gen X) taught me Black Sabbath. My sister...Heart and Joan Jett. My youngest older brother (only three years older but still gen x) taught me rap, r&b, and a general appreciation of the music we were both taught. I'm an elder millennial. That first song hit HARD!!
For me, this represented survival... of the dangers they have all had to face... survival of hip hop... it's really a miracle that any of them were there to perform that show and it made you think about those who didn't survive...
And for all of us what we've been through these past 2 years. Especially those who are in their 30s-40s taking care of their aging parents and their kids during the pandemic, and all we've had to go through- job loss etc.
Love these guys. Y’all should know, Dr. Dre was the anchor of the halftime show because every song performed during the show was produced by him. Also, all of the artist that he chose were signed by him or on a label with him with the exception of Mary J. Bilge. This was truly an awesome and iconic Hip Hop moment.
“Lose Yourself” was not produced by Dr. Dre. It was produced by Eminem, Jeff Bass and Luis Resto. Dr. Dre had nothing to do with the song’s composition or production. Kendrick Lamar was not discovered or signed onto a label with Dr. Dre to find fame. He was always already working with Tech9, J. Cole and others when he was introduced to Dr. Dre. He was also part of XXL’s Freshman Class.
@@stevenwaeyen9251 Dre was the anchor. Roc nation tapped him and he tapped all the artist. Lose yourself was the only song that was performed that he didn’t produce. That changes nothing about the fact that Dre was the anchor and chose every song performed at the show. What is your point?!?? Oh ok.
@@stevenwaeyen9251 And lose yourself was not the main song of the show. It was apart of the show. But the highlight and theme of the show was Compton and Dr. Dre. Literally they danced on a map of Compton and had Compton flags waving and dancers wearing sashes that said “Dre Day. “ Make sense.
I don’t even watch Football, but I tuned in to see the Halftime Show. All of the performers did amazing! They all inspire me to keep making my own music. I’m a rapper, but I’m not very good yet. I have to keep practicing. Maybe one day I can meet the artists who performed this year.
My ONLY thing was I wished they'd done "Ain't Nothing But A G Thing". My 47 y.o. ass would STILL be on the floor reenacting those old Life Alert commercials verbatim! "I'm having chest pains!" "I've fallen and I can't get up!" "Help mmmmeeeeeeeeeee!" "California Love" got me a noise violation. Fiddy had me remember being "In Da Club", but my body said go sit down. I listened & had to get my whole damn nebulizer machine & meds. Mary's "No More Drama" sucked my soul out. Dre playing "I Ain't Mad Atcha" had heaven throw my heathen ass back to erff. Em "Lose Yourself" had me wandering around lost & nekkid asking WTF just happened? I think I might need that Life Alert sooner than I thought...
This was definitely one of the top 3 best halftime shows ever done, kind of neck and neck with Michael Jackson. However, in my opinion, the number one best halftime performance ever was Prince. I would really love to see you guys react to that performance. It had an excellent song selection, was beautifully executed, and more amazing than anything was being able to see Prince perform Purple Rain in the actual rain. Very beautiful.
This was the BEST halftime show since Prince.Nice that Tupac was included. Purest joy moments go to Anderson .Paak, wailing on the drums for EM, smiling and singing the whole time. Loved all performances and great to see 50 back!
I can't even imagine what that experience must have been like for him! I was in awe of how so many dancers performed so flawlessly and transitioned to the next group so smoothly.
Prince’s halftime show, Bruno Mars with Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Coldplay with Beyonce and Bruno Mars are all tops on my list. You should do a whole series of halftime show reactions!
In 2012 Oprah interviewed “50 Cent” at his Grandmother’s home. I think that she raised him and his siblings because he called her “Mom”. During the interview, Oprah asked “50 Cent” what was the favorite meal that his Grandmother would cook, and he said “beans and franks”. He and his siblings were never allowed to use profanity in front of her. In the interview, he also said that his “stage persona” is quite different from what he is really like. You can Google “Oprah interviews 50 Cent” if you want to watch it.
And to show how much respect 50 has for em, he's said countless times now that he views em in the same way that he views his grandma. Joe Budden was basically fuckin with a gangstas momma n lived to tell the tale lol

This was so fabulous. People are criticizing the NFL for featuring these multi millionaires, but they don't have to do this anymore. Each of these artists brought with them young talented people as support for their act. They gave employment to artisans, musicians, dancers, designers, etc...in order to put on this fabulous performance. The message was clear to me. "We gon' be alright!" This was one of the greatest Superbowl halftime shows ever.
@@tex10krunner On another UA-cam channel, someone said that the NFL should have been giving this opportunity to younger performers because these folks have already had their days. Sorry I didn't communicate that it wasn't on this thread that I saw that comment.

This shit was an absolute ten outta ten. Mary j Blige killed it. Em killed it. Kenny killed it. Snoop, Dre, and 50 killed it. This is what Ive been waiting for a long time. A long time.

Great reaction, guys! Truly hip hop royalty at its finest. You really need to check out Michael Jackson's half time show which set the standard, as well as Prince's half time show which is still my all-time favorite. This is coming from someone who has watched ALL of the Super Bowls since the beginning.
Michael jackson is the reason they still doing halftime show they wouldve got rid of it if he didnt perform rhis started ot all the greatest performance of all time he wasnt going. To do them. And declined it but he thought about it the nfl had to pay him 1mill to perform and he did it on his own terms and donated it to charity and he rehearsed all night with no sleep to perfect his performance and he taught future artist how to do it. He did two superbowls in history ..long love the king of pop
Bit of trivia here: When the NFL needed someone to make the Super Bowl come alive again, who did they turn to? That’s right, the biggest superstar artist in the world: Michael Jackson! In 1992, when the King of Pop was called upon to help rebrand the halftime show, Mike wasn’t all too familiar with just how big the Super Bowl was. At one point during talks, Mike stated he didn’t like the name "Super Bowl" and suggested they rename it the "Thriller Bowl". He was always so practical. In the nearly three decades since his performance, the Super Bowl has become a showcase for some of the world’s most beloved musical acts. Many artists now look at it like a "bucket list" type thing of achievement. The only tradition still standing to this day, is that no performer is ever paid for their act. Only the production costs are covered. The thing that finally sold Mike on performing was the realization that the game would be broadcast to 120 countries, including underdeveloped nations. Mike was so intrigued that people who could never attend one of his concerts could finally watch him perform live and hear his message of hope. After 3 failed negotiations Mike's management team agreed to allow him to perform for free. In the end, the league sweetened the appeal by offering up a partnership with Frito-Lay to offer a $100,000 donation plus a 30-second TV spot to Mike's "Heal the World Foundation", which he founded to improve conditions for children throughout the world. The halftime shows since have gotten better ratings than the game itself, solely based on one artists blueprint: Michael Jackson! Mike stole the show and changed the game forever, all due to his ridiculous talent & popularity! If you weren’t alive in 1993, it’s hard to explain just how incredibly & insanely popular Michael Jackson was. It’s just another example, in the very long list of performer's, of how Mike shaped the history of this country-and the rest of the world-within our culture. Every memorable moment, even the most over-commercialized music performance of the year, Mike had a central part of the story. Mike's performance at the Super Bowl was iconic, as he catapulted from center stage and stood completely frozen like a statue and silent for almost two minutes before he began his act. Mike had everyone in the stadium in the palm of his hands, while directors and producers went crazy! His halftime performance increased the television ratings by a significant amount, and remains one of the most watched events in American television history today with over 133.4 million viewers. Super Bowl halftime acts owe a debt to Michael Jackson as he displayed innovative courage performing live in front of millions of viewers with not only poor sketchy lighting, no sound check, & zero cent of compensation. It was all a serious risk, but he took it & nailed it! Once again, Mike set a standard that other entertainers have been trying to reach for over 30 years. 💔 🎤 👞 💘 👍 Loving you & Still missing you our shy sweet prince! 💋
I am 66yrs old and I agree with you, I think that Michael Jackson and this year's SB show was the best. I have watched this year's show a least 6 times and gets better and better. I had no idea the performers didn't get paid thanks for sharing and God bless.
Mike is dead and gone. Why bring him into this? Yall always making comparisons between black entertainers when trying to downplay other black entertainers. I heard fox news talking about how this super bowl halftime show was trash and how Michael Jackson was a class act during his super bowl performance; like I said, mike who was great is now gone, these great black entertainers are now. There is no comparison just greatness being passed along. Yall probably didn't like Michael either at that time. Why compare this super bowl halftime show to Michael's halftime show? There's been a ton of artists performances in halftime shows so all you can compare this halftime show to is another black artist? Stop the rayist b.s.

I'm an elder millennial. That first song hit HARD!!
It was a great halftime show. Greatly enjoyed it. Prince is still my #1 💜
PRINCE Doing "Purfple Rain" in a DRIVING RAIN is STILL Tough to Beat.
I agree!!!!!
Yessss!!!
One of the best!
100 percent agree.
along with MJ...my goodness went back and looked at MJ performance and still epic
For me, this represented survival... of the dangers they have all had to face... survival of hip hop... it's really a miracle that any of them were there to perform that show and it made you think about those who didn't survive...
And we nearly lost Dre just recently, yet there he was. Unreal. Nothing's promised.
It was also meant to show all the rappers and artist Dre brought up to who they are today
And for all of us what we've been through these past 2 years. Especially those who are in their 30s-40s taking care of their aging parents and their kids during the pandemic, and all we've had to go through- job loss etc.
Dre’s tribute to PAC I Ain’t Mad At You…nice
I 4got about that song. They should've had Tupac's & Nate Doggs pictures floating around somewhere. That would've been awesome 👌.
Prince had the best halftime show
This one is top five at least maybe top three ✌🏻
Agreed
@@kristinkeiner6547 Didn’t mean to include that song. He’s still Dre’s artist which is why Dre was the anchor.
@@kristinkeiner6547 No More Drama and Alright were also not produced by Dre either....
"I'm having chest pains!" "I've fallen and I can't get up!" "Help mmmmeeeeeeeeeee!"
"California Love" got me a noise violation.
I agree They should've ended it with Ain't Nothing But A G Thing but I'm sure it was brought up. Somebody didn't approve it.
Hey yo! 🖤
Definitely one of the best of all time. The first time they ever headlined rap and it was a winner.
I agree 100% with your order. Prince was #1, followed by MJ, and then this one!
Prince was the best, but this comes close
@@lillybugg25 yes, Prince was my fave. I'd love to see u guys see that too. This was terrific.
This wasn't even top 5 lmfaaaaaao
This was the BEST halftime show since Prince.Nice that Tupac was included. Purest joy moments go to Anderson .Paak, wailing on the drums for EM, smiling and singing the whole time. Loved all performances and great to see 50 back!
Best performance since Michael jackson
One of the best half time shows I've seen! And my brother was one of the dancers for 50 Cent and Dr. Dre and Snoop!! 🤗
I can't even imagine what that experience must have been like for him! I was in awe of how so many dancers performed so flawlessly and transitioned to the next group so smoothly.
Judy B How does the process go, how do they get selected to be a dancer?
Congratulations to brother and family!!!
Wow! Amazing
Cool 😎
Dre discovered Eminem. Dre has produce all those artist that performed!
Prince’s halftime show, Bruno Mars with Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Coldplay with Beyonce and Bruno Mars are all tops on my list. You should do a whole series of halftime show reactions!
Definitely agree ! You should do a halftime series.
I liked Beyonce and Coldplay, too!
U2, 2002. If you know, you know.
Bruno Mars 2014 was the best Super Bowl ever for me, plus I loved the way he included the USA troops.
This was dope! I make this one number 2 or 3, but PRINCE is Still #1 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜.
“I only know the spaghetti part”
😂😂 I lost it.
Great video.
This is definitely right up there with Prince and Whitney.
Whitney only did the National Anthem not a halftime show.
@@juliemcdaniel499 and it was prerecorded
Prince halftime performance was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 but I enjoyed this one
Prince halftime show was by far the best in my opinion. It rained as he was singing Purple Rain. 💜 Epic!!!
That Was Epic And God Sent
The BEST one ever! As a 44 year old woman, I was shaking my ass the entire time! Brought back some amazing memories! How are they gonna top this?
Not better than Prince, MJ or Beyonce and since u gave ur age I would think u knew that. It was great 4 Hip Hop.
@@juliemcdaniel499 Kanye,please. Beyoncé? Not even close 😂
45, ditto!
😂
As an L.A. native and a 80's baby (90's) kid....I thoroughly loved every moment, song and artist! 🔥🔥🔥
100% GENERATION X VIBES MILLENIAL!
This was hands down legendary!
PRINCE!!! 💜💜💜💜 They play his Super Bowl performance on a screen as you exit Paisley Park. It was so emotional...wasn't a dry eye in the house. His performance was flawless. He will always be #1! 💜💜💜💜💜💜
Lots of California love in this show! Dre and Kendrick from Compton and Snoop from the LBC!
I am not hearing anyone criticize the NFL. Stop it!
@@tex10krunner On another UA-cam channel, someone said that the NFL should have been giving this opportunity to younger performers because these folks have already had their days. Sorry I didn't communicate that it wasn't on this thread that I saw that comment.
This was AWESOME to see your reaction, RESPECT to ALL the PERFORMERS, especially Ms. Mary J, I’m OLD SCHOOL, so my Fav Super Bowel performances was PRINCE & MJ….❤️❤️❤️
Would love for yall to watch Prince and MJ's SB performances.
Some of us have been waiting for this since 1993!!!! Finally acceptable to have Hip Hop in the Superbowl and it was soo good to see it! They all did the damn thing and repped for Hip Hop and the city of LA. This is in my top 5 but..... THEE BEST OF ALL TIME EVER IN LIFE Superbowl Halftime Show was from PRINCE in 2007. Please react to it. Its just Prince, his band and GOD on the special effects. Watch it!
This show was so good. You don't understand how loud I was rapping the lyrics to California love and alright. I knew every single word to every song that they all did. This shit was an absolute ten outta ten. Mary j Blige killed it. Em killed it. Kenny killed it. Snoop, Dre, and 50 killed it. This is what Ive been waiting for a long time. A long time.
@@paulh3261 Oh I understand!!! I was doing the same. It was a great show. Just wish Pac and Nate Dogg were here.
@@wndrlnd_4540 rip to the legends. They shoulda been here to see it.
Prince also did it in a downpour!!! He was the very best and no one has been able to come close to his performance! I miss him so very much!!! 😢💜💜💜
Werd.
They told snoop to tone it down on his gang affiliation and this man legit wore a damn blue bandana as a fucking outfit LMAO
yall clowning 50, bet he was holding himself up. That guy is country strong lmao
I'm LMAO off 2 definitely something Snoop would do. Yeah they should know 50 got muscles 4 days lol.
This was amazing.!!! MJ 1993 Still the best one to me. The heal the world performance alone was so beautiful with all the children from all over the globe and it raised the entire world frequency!! 🥰😍🤩
This was like my younger years all in one moment! Legendary seeing all of them on stage together. Took me back to simpler times. Iconic! You should react to Michael Jackson Super Bowl 1993 and Prince's Super Bowl 2007 halftime show through a rain and wind storm. Both are amazing! You will NOT be disappointed! 😀😀
This really took me back. I'm in their age group, and I can remember blasting The Chronic riding with hubby in my car. Those were the days of real rap.
@Sharian Fields heyyyyy there! Couldn't listen to The Chronic with the volume low! Yes, it sounded oh so good when cruising in the car around town! 💃🏾😁
What I love is everyone is late 40s into late 50s and they still put on a fantastic show! 🤩
I wasn't a huge fan of rap growing up in the 90's till a friend showed me Dre and Snoopdog and I've loved all their songs since. Much love here
50 Cent was hanging upside down cuz that's how it was in the original music video for that song.
I know right lol.
I really enjoyed this one, lots of energy!
That was mindblowing - absolutely love it
This was an incredible show! I was having to explain to my parents who all these people are and I’m 48 lol! For upcoming reactions: Prince half time show 2007. Many people my age will say that show reigns supreme over all others.
2007 superbowl with Prince. Fire.
Great reaction, guys! Truly hip hop royalty at its finest. You really need to check out Michael Jackson's half time show which set the standard, as well as Prince's half time show which is still my all-time favorite. This is coming from someone who has watched ALL of the Super Bowls since the beginning.
They were walking on the photo of the city streets of LA (probably Compton, Inglewood).
The SHOW was great but PRINCE….NOTHING BEATS THAT SHOW!!!
Prince outdid this ALL BY HIMSELF!!!! THIS is 2nd best of All Time though....so BIG RESPECT!!!💯💯💯❤️
In my opinion, third best. Michael's will FOREVER be outdone!!
Michael Jackson did it in his peak
That building Em was on is the Compton Court Building. Legendary spot in Los Angeles
Being OGs we all know how to censor ourselves. We can be respectful and want respect. These got my respect for sure!
I'm 59 and can say that was the best halftime show I have ever seen! My time music! WOW+!!!!!. And you guys are absolutely adorable!
Prince, MIchael Jackson, Beyonce's first performance were also really great too.
Bit of trivia here:
When the NFL needed someone to make the Super Bowl come alive again, who did they turn to?
Loving you & Still missing you our shy sweet prince! 💋
True 💯💯
Hell I'm 54 and I didn't know that
Thanks for sharing this information 🖤🖤🖤
The performers are not paid so it makes more money for one of the most racist organizations, the NFL.
That was the best one for me. I’m a fan of Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre and watching Snoop crip walk was a highlight also.
The GOAT!!!! The GOAT show with Legends!!!! Even the band and dances were on points. Dre led a masterful cast. Jay and Dre are it -- from east to west.
I loved the halftime show!
Incredible! When Dre played intro to "I'm Not Mad At Cha" I lost it. Tupac 💔
Mary J Blige, my God she is amazing
Love all of the performers♥️🎶☮️
I was waiting on Nate Dogg and Tupac hologram to perform. Lol. This was Awsome.
Old school 👍🏾👍🏾
I didn't even think of that, that would've been EPIC. They probably thought of it too but wasn't allowed. Too many artists for only 12 minutes, something had 2 get turned down. They should've put their pictures up there like they did with Snoops mom that would've been so cool.
Awesome guys. Great watching some of the West coast OG'S perform. Our gurl Mary J Bllige with her ':No more pain' classic was phenomenal. Definitely one of the best halftime performances. Thanks so much.😍👪👍

Eminem was raised by Dr Dre, he was more then happy because it was a hip hop show an Em is a big part of that! But more so I think because he really loves Dre like they all do because he touches all their careers with his genius 🙏🏼🙏🏼
This is definitely the best halftime show to date, something extra special would have to happen to top this. For real. This was magical! ♥️
