2:56 Just asking because I hear stuff like this from a lot of Canadians. Is it an unknown thing up there that the store was called EB Games in the US too? 4:01 Do they really? I don't think I've seen a Megaten fan online that doesn't use guides - they often recommend and in some cases insist on them. Personally, I never understood giving a damn about how someone else wants to play their game - especially singleplayer. Want to play on easy, with a guide, on hell and hell mode? Knock yourself out. We all have our preferences. But at the same time, I find it hilarious that I hear so often from Megaten fans "Get ready to get your dick pushed in! SMT is a tough as nails RPG for real gamers! Matador and Minotaur are so tough! Ugggh!" Like, just because you people need to play with a guide doesn't mean the games are actually hard 😂Pokemon is harder and it's not even close. In truth it just seems like a lot of Megaten fans don't play many other RPGs. Rant over :p The Persona games are certainly memorable. 3 is so sick. RIP manuals :( Cool collection video, dude. I'm glad this popped up in my recommended.
My guy! Appreciate the comment and you watching the vid and the rant! 😂 Regarding EB games, it’s weird back then it was like how we didn’t have Best Buy and all our Future Shops eventually turned into Best Buy, we mostly just assumed GameStop was the American Branch of Electronics Boutique. Since it took years before we got them in Canada rebranded to GS. Fair point about the guides, I’m in the insist side of the fence. I’ve come across videos of people who somehow blast through the games in record time and always like to say “I went through my first run with no guide!” I call bs on that 80% of the time. Most of my guide using is for min maxing social links and boss battles or weakness finding. I tried that on p3 back in the day and just about soft locked myself. Grind sesh ensued 🫨. You’re right though dude, it’s not a necessarily a difficulty thing. Point being, I encourage people to play the games and get their fun however they do. I could talk endless about manuals and big boxes back in the day too dude, don’t even get me started on working designs 😭 Anyway man appreciate your insight and the comment! Hope to see you back here
