    Yessss girl. The Enneagram is everything. My family has deeply studied it for over 10 years. It is super helpful that we all have knowledge of it, so we can say to each other "My new boss is a 6" and then we all have a full understanding of elements of that person's personality. There are free tests online, but most importantly the books are amazing and helpful. Also, subscribing to the "enneathought" of the day for your type is fun, too!

Thanks for all of the helpful tips and tricks I love the idea of taking those tests to be able to describe yourself which I feel I need to really be able to do especially because I have so many attributes about myself! I used to work in my school's college store/book store and it's better to wait until August for clothes because that's when we get in the new stuff. During June/July there isn't as much, so the cooler merch comes later (: And like you said, sales are more likely at the end of fall semester and during spring!

    TIP #7 IS SOOOOO IMPORTANT - I'm so happy I'm not leaving home with the rocky relationship with my mother we had during the beginning of my high school years. We plan to take a road trip together this summer, and I can't wait to spend more time with her (she's a full-time teacher, so she's either in school or always working on paperwork, lesson plans, etc).

    more things:
    •minimize. go through all your stuff and get rid of clothes and things you dont use or want so that you dont bring unneeded crap with you. youll be more organized and itll be a lighter load.
    •part time job or side hussle that you out most of or all aside for your FUNds. fun money.
    •hunt for the professors online or people who have had them so you know what its like.
    •see if your school posts dorm tours and campus tours so you can try and start memorizing landmarks.
    •start your routines early. maybe if you know youll have early classes get used to going to bed early and waking up to an alarm. also work out meal times and even set study time. (example if your last class is around 3pm then sit down and research or look over stuff and 4, even if it isn't actual work.
    •learn easy meals to cook/healthy snack recipes
    •work on interpersonal skills, distress tolerance skills, and mindfulness skills. i recommended DBT training manual second edition by marsha linehan. ive been doing that program for a really long time with my therapist and it helps me so much in uncomfortable or stressful situations. it seems dumb but if you work on it youll be thankful.
    •look up some background info on your classes and make an overview
    •get familiar with your calculator and computer. look at all the programs and tips.
    --if youre using the same computer clear out unnecessary bookmarks or apps.
    •find good grammar editors and things like that.

    • @STRDX

    • @geekygirl2596
      @geekygirl2596 6 років тому

      TheMakeupMelon I bought my textbooks at the college book store but I hate buying things online so it's just personal preference. If your going to buy yours online though you will need to know the volume number, title, author, and any other little details you can get from the professor on the book because it's so easy to end up with the wrong book and then you don't have one for a week. This can set you pretty far behind on course work.

    I'm in like my third year in college. I've gone to a grand total of 2 colleges (one two year and one 4 year actually) neither had any sort of blowout sales and bookstore stuff is very expencive. I recommend buying as little from there as possible. The only thing I recommend buying from the book store us your textbooks because there is an extra layer of making sure everything is exactly right and if it isn't or they ordered the wrong book for your class then I find it easier to return things to the book store verses like Amazon.

    Could you do something about commuting? I guess you might not know much about it but just an idea. I'm commuting to a small university and I feel like I'll be left out by just driving to class few days a week then driving home. And maybe also what it's like when all your friends leave the area and your stuck at home and the same job you had since high school. And what it's like being 17 starting college and your parents forcing you to stay home and drive. Because that's how my life is about to go. .

    • @orangepeel_er
      @orangepeel_er 8 років тому +1

      You sound really upset about this decision. Whatever school you're going to, look it up on college board if you haven't already. Itll tell you the amount of commuters at your campus because trust me you aren't alone!! Where I live in Maryland, SO many students commute to schools. I'm sure you won't feel left out, you will still spend lots of time on campus. Best of luck to your experience, and remember it's all about your mindset.

    I KNEW YOU WERE ENTJ! When you mentioned the Myers-Briggs, I was really hoping that you were ENTJ because I watch your videos religiously since I relate to you so much and figured you would be similar in personality type. I am ENTJ as well... apparently there's only like 3% of us lol. And yeah, I know that personality indicators aren't always consistent, but after reading all the personality type descriptions, I agree that it suits me best. I'm definitely headstrong, assertive, and focused on convincing people one way or another!
    ENTJ's rule!

    I had an ex that was obsessed with the enneagram test to the point where everything I'd say he'd reply with something like: "Oh, that's because you're a 2"..... or "well you're a 2, so i'm not surprised".... or the worst: "you're such a 2!".... He'd generalize people based on their type instead of accepting that people have quirks and don't always fit perfectly into a nice, neat personality type. I can't stand that test now, all because of him.

    Another point: figure out how much you tend to procrastinate and be realistic about it. This will tell you how many all nighters you might pull over the course of the term.

    Apparently according to this test I am a 6w5 or a 5w6 but almost all fit me... besides the mainly extroverted outgoing part but even some of those still fit me...

  • @Roan.bot.

    I took the personality test.
    I’m an ENTJ/P
    E= Extravert
    N= Intuitive
    T= Thinking
    J/P= Judging or Perceiving (it said I could be either)
    I wonder if this fits along with the whole me being a Leo thing. If you’re into zodiac stuff can you tell me. I just like that my symbol is a lion and my element is fire. King of the zodiac 🦁

    I’m still in middle school... I’ve been into how to get into college since 3rd grade :) I’m gonna try to graduate in 11th grade and all my teachers, family & friends think I could do it. I have already seen how to get college points which I’ve been doing since 6th grade. I have great classes and I’m trying to get into community service by 8th grade. I have some clubs and extra classes. Next year I’ll be tutoring kids because my teachers say I could help since I’m good at certain things. I have had all A & B’s my whole life and will try to maintain that. I’m bilingual and I’ve heard it’s good to know different languages for your college application, I want to get into an ivy college but already know what my safety colleges are, they are near where I live but the colleges I want to go to are far from where I live. I’m not a citizen Yet ( I will be within a couple of years) and I can’t fly anywhere outside from the USA ANDdddd it’s not good to fly yet in my situation. My mom and dad didn’t go to college and my brother doesn’t have a clue what he wants to do (he’s in 11th this year) I’ve just always been interested in college and getting stuff done. I want to get a scholarship which means I have to try harder than normal in high school but that’s something I think I can do!¡ I’m taking French next year, I know English since I was raised here since I was 3 and Spanish since I’m Hispanic from Honduras, Im really rust on Irish and I’m tryna learn Russian 😂. Is this a bad thing or good thing? 🤣
