Thank you! My mom is legally blind and I was wondering if this would be helpful to her. This video got me really excited about everything this could do for her.

Hi Samantha! Thank you very much for watching this video and for reaching out to me, I’m glad that this video was helpful and showed you all of the possibilities with this device. I think it would definitely be beneficial to your mom, since there is so much functionality and the technology is always improving. It is not perfect, but it is definitely helpful and is a nice piece of technology to have around the house. It is relatively inexpensive at only about $40, possibly even less. I am constantly talking to mine when I am at home and putting different types of items on it including grocery list, timers, and asking for updates with the news and time. I hope this is helpful, please feel free to reach out to me if you have any additional questions. Thanks again Samantha, I appreciate you watching the video and being here on the channel, I look forward to talking with you again soon! Matt

High Matt. I bought my first echo for myself last Christmas and I love that thing. The funny thing is I have two echoes in my room because I’m going to be moving into my own place this week so I have them both plugged in and connected to my account, and when you were talking to Alexa both of mine started talking.

Hi Tiffany! That is cool that you have a couple Amazon echo dots, they are definitely helpful in some respects, and certainly an easy way for someone like us to create lists and do a variety of other work with them. LOL, that is funny that they both started talking during this video :-) I hope you’re having a great day! Matt

Hi Go4it! It’s nice to hear from you! Thank you for watching and commenting on my video! That’s really funny about your Alexa going off during my video. We are careful not to refer to her by name, haha. Thank you again, Matt

My mother also has Alexa plugs so from the living room she can tell Alexa to turn on her electric blanket in her bedroom. She also used one for the Christmas tree lights! But I wish it had an address book

Omgosh, I googled how an Alexa could help a blind person, and your video popped up. I am not too familiar with Alexa, so I was doing some research. I'm trying to get something for my mom. When I clicked on the link to get to your page, I saw the hashtag retinitis pigmetosa, which is what my mom has also. Thank you for this video it was really helpful for me. This will be perfect for my mom. I have one more question? Will Alexa dial someone from your contacts, i.e. Alexa call John? If so, does it work with ANY phone?

Matt I just subscribed to your channel. My Mother is blind, like many others stated in the comment section. I want to get her started with a dot but she does not have a cell phone. Do I have to get her one to use the dot to make calls? Thanks Al

I rely on the Google home Mini, which can make a noise when it starts listening.

My Mom is nearly blind. She would like to start journaling. Does you know of a device that exists for a blind person to create journal / diary type entries This is a hail mary of course. I've done some searching and haven't found just the right thing online.

Alexa is horrible for the hearing impaired. I bought an echo show hoping that the closed captioning would help. It doesn't because closed captioning is selective. Very frustrating.
