Tiffany, your segment on the correct paper to use was so helpful. First time I have seen the difference between the right and wrong paper shown so visually.
I really love using Bristol Smooth Illustration paper, which I believe is made for markers. It is not very absorbent and sprays and water tend to really move around on the surface before settling in.
Hi Tiffany, I am working from home and needed some background chat. I put youtube on and saw hour mixed media backgrounds video come up. I love mixed media so played your video. Loved the video. Really informative and easy to follow. I have subscribed. Thanks so much.
I have had good outcomes with Strathmore 300 series watercolor paper as well. I use Bristol smooth in their 300 series mostly, because I keep that for my card panels, so it’s always in my studio. TFS!
Thanks for sharing,I also did not realise how big a difference the paper was,in uk out poundland store, used to sell cheap cardstock, and it was the best, but they changed it,And now it eats the in,even versamark,so hard to emboss on.I have some really good cardstock, but always save it 😂,I need to start using it ❤
Thank you!! There ya go!! That’s the word I was looking for 😂 even when I was editing I was what is this!! I have been so sick the last couple weeks so my brain isn’t functioning at 100%
Love this. I didn’t not think I was a mixed media person, but after watching you and sone other creators, I have really come to like it. It is fun to just “play.” Thanks for sharing your creativity!
Love this card. The colours are beautiful. I have had trouble getting good paper as the Ranger Heavystock isn't working so well. I have some Bristol though and I will try it. The Distress watercolor paper is easy to get in Australia too. We have an 'Art Day' on Friday, I think we will have to try this. And we can stay in out of the heat(40°C) in the AC. It will be great as we all have different styles & love different colours. Thanks for this template ❤
Thank you for explaining the paper for sprays. I never even thought about it before, but now I know why I was so dissatisfied with my sprays. Beautiful creation ❤ Tfs. So appreciate it
Such a beautiful card! The background really came alive with the Distress Glaze. I always forget to use that. This was a great video. The paper recommendation and five step method were really helpful! It was so helpful to see what we should be looking for with the paper. Luckily for me, I have 2 of the 3 😀Thank you!
Strathmore Mixed Media paper is the BEST paper for Distress spays. ALWAYS use the correct paper for the intended purpose. Cheap is NEVER the correct way to create art heirlooms.
Love to see you making cards with your mixed media! Beautiful!
So pretty!!! Love that color combo. 😍
Beautiful card. Thanks for the tips on paper. I will have to try the distressed edges. 🤩
I used to do this all the time and it was so much fun. Makes me want to try it again…thanks. Beautiful card, love the colors.
Hi Tiffany! I love to journal as well as make cards. I tried this method and it worked great for both! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Tiffany. My first takeaway is to start with the RIGHT PAPER 😂 don’t just grab a scrap and go for it 😂

Beautiful !! Thanks Tiffany 😊
Beautiful card, love the color combo. I would call the stamping motion as "rocking"...you are rocking the stamp on to the card😊

Love this series
Many thanks for your comprehensive guidance for fool-proof results. Great to know about the sprays and cardstock.
absolutely beautiful background!
This was fantastic. You made it seem so easy. I want to gather materials together and give this a try. Thanxs a million
Excellent teacher! Mixed media perfectly imperfect!
Love it! ❤
Oh I love it!😮
The paper has made such a difference for me. I decided to believe you when I did your 12 Christmas cards class 😂
It makes the biggest difference. Did you enjoy the class?
Yes, I very much enjoyed the class! Looking forward to more.
Beautiful card! God bless
What a great card and tutorial. Thanks for sharing!
Great piece😊
Wow, that's really gorgeous! Thanks for breaking it down into easy steps.
Do you think it's necessary to purchase one of those different temperature driers when I already have a heat embossing tool?
Not necessary at all. You do need to be a little more careful with an embossing tool and it is more centralized heat but it will work just fine.
where do you get the sticky mat
