I ordered a 2024 Wrangler 392 - delivery scheduled 8/20. Silver, Sky Touch, Wench. Super excited!
I hope you wench is Hot🤭 I wish that was an option for 23🤭
How much for the wench? 🤣😂🤣
mmm wenches!
Can you sponsor my builds? 😂
congrats🎉
I'm glad you did this review. Simple and straight to the point.
People who are on the fence on wranglers don't want to hear about a 70k to 90k wranglers
Thank you!
What are the buttons up on the casing around the rearview mirror? It looks like auto window buttons. But the window buttons look like they are still in the center of the dash.
Another incredible video, really liked this direct comparison! The more I see the new grill I like the old style better I think but like everything car related once there on the road I may change my mind… lol
Keep up the incredible work!! 👍
Right on!
Hi thank you for your contents as always. I finally got my first 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. I like it so much. One thing I noticed and sorry for if that’s a stupid question, my key fob can still lock the car even with doors open or not close firmly. The interior light will stay on but it does not chirp to remind me when I try to lock the car with doors open. Is that normal?
Does the Willy’s have both rubicon axles?
I ordered a 24’ Willys 2 door in Anvil and standard transmission. I watch these posts like a hawk to hear of any updates on manual Willys or 2 door Willys in general. This will be my first wrangler!
I’m currently living vicariously through everyone else 😂 and your posts!
Did they give you a delivery date yet? I ordered a Rubicon X in Anvil on April 24th and the Dealership has told me they have no idea when manufacturing will begin. I may not get it until next year. Very disappointed in Jeep!!!
haha! We are pumped for our anvil too!
I know I’m going to be in the minority, but side-by-side, I like the ‘24 grille more. 🤷♂️
I kinda agree, unfortunately they are both way too complex and expensive to meet my needs for an off-road vehicle… basically if I wanted all the computer controlled doodads and unnecessary widgets I’d buy a Mercedes
It’s growing on me
We like it too!
Matt, enjoy our channel and videos. Can you explain the difference from the 23 Rubicon rear end/Axel to the 24?
Awesome video. I'm a Jeep wrangler newbie but looking to purchase a 2024 soon, Question: Are there any disadvanges to the Selec-Trac system?
Not that I know of, it’s great for those that don’t want to worry about shifting manually in and out of 4wd
I pulled the trigger on a 2024 Sahara in Anvil. traded in my 2018 JK 2dr Soft top Sahara and I absolutely love it. Coming from a lifted 2dr with 35s it is a totally different ball game..
2dr Sahara?
Awesome! We are waiting for our Anvil to come in. Enjoy your new Jeep
Good video! Replaced 22 Rubi with 24 Willys. Lotsa pros and cons. You present them well👍👍😎🇺🇸
Thanks for watching!
Thanks, this was helpful. 2023 it is even if I have to buy used. Hate the new grille on the 2024 and the giant R2D2 screen glued to the dash.
Do it!
Hope you’re able to do a comparison of the Willys soon.
We want to! Didn’t get to see any when we were down there. Hopefully soon.
I just picked up a '24 2 door Rubicon yesterday. Its an incredible vehicle.
Awesome! Enjoy your new 24
I'm waiting for late spring/early summer because I want a 24 Gladiator (probably with a Rubicon package).
I don't know....after seeing the grills side x side, I think I like the 24' grill better. Especially in a satin black grill.
It’s better in person for sure!
Sounds like one might be better off getting the 2024 Willys over the 2024 Rubicon at the end of the day? Color match fenders are a must for me but having to get a higher trim of the rubicon to get it sucks a bit
You can always order the mopar paintable rubicon flares, much cheaper than spending 20k more for the rubicon x
I dig the new grille in black, I prefer the original grille in colors.
Nice!
super late but im the exact opposite. feel like the new grille looks better with colors because the extra 'hollow cheekbone' looking vents are more visible against colors. Against black it all sorta blends in and looks like visual noise.
overall 2024 looks classier and sorta dolled up, but i dont really like how theyre pulling away from classic jeep shape like they did with the old JK grilles
What’s the website for buying the new front grille? I want one in bright white.
www.distinctionapplied.com/?ref=DIRTROADCRED
For me I’m planning on a 24 because of the new radio. But if you don’t care about that O much then I think 23 is still great and you can probably get a good deal on them as the 24s start hitting the lots and dealerships want to make room for the new stuff
Agreed!
They really put more on the plate for 24 model (thanks Ford!) - float axle and LED headlights(used to be 1800$extra), power seats, adaptive cruise control (was 2000$ extra), 12 inch infotainment (2000K for 8.4 inch before), towing package and auxiliary switch(I paid 1000$ extra for mine) - all stock now. Also they brought the prices down for many options - like black hard top - 1400$ now (I paid 1800$). But they really stabbed the dealers in the back- with all the 2023 models - they really gotta go below MSRP to sell them.
just got the 2024 2 door hard top I want to buy sound dampening headliners but I wonder if the 2023 will fit?
Good question might need to try it
For those interested in the manual transmission, any word on if they've remedied the clutch issues?
Going to talk about he manual situation in an upcoming video
Aloha Matt. The only con for the 2024 JL Wrangler is the antenna located in the windshield.
The thing that I love in the 23 is the red panel, I would change that for the red seats of the 24, but is unclear to me if those seats are exclusive of one version.
Good call!
Order the cloth & get custom leather from Katzkin leather for a couple hundred more than what it would cost to order leather
I've got a max tow '22 Glady. Now I want a 392 Glady; hopefully they'll be available some day!
I hope so!
To me more tech means more issues. Right now on my 21 willys still waiting for warranty parts from jeep to fix "service shifter" issue been waiting over a month and im almost sure the dealer has no idea whats really wrong.
Definitely. Sorry to hear!
Going to build my 2024 Willys on Saturday
Awesome!
@@DIRTROADCREDmy first Jeep!
I wanted to order a 23 at the beginning of July but they stopped taking orders for them so I had to order a 24. I ordered a Willys 2 door with the manual and hardtop. The standard rear locker and gorilla glass windshield for 24 is a nice feature though. Who knows when it will be built though, Jeep doesn’t seem interested in building 2 doors anymore and my salesman told me it could take six months to get.
Hang in there. I have a 2021 Sport with the manual. Things have changed in the last couple years I'm sure but it took less than 8 weeks from the day I ordered it until I took delivery. So it may not take as long as you think.
i ordered a gladiator in February and i am still waiting, was told the options i picked are backordered like led lights and adaptive cruise. i guess they are using all the safety tech for the new models..
Hope the manual doesn't take too long to come in!
Do you think the2024 gladiator will have the same upgrade?
Yes!
The 2024 is worth it. The new infotainment system plus standard rear curtain airbags is a game changer (the airbags more than the infotainment - safety above all). The Willys has the most changes - Dana 44 front axle, high clearance fender flares, 4:10 gears, standard 33s, and a rear locker plus this new infotainment system plus the side curtain airbags means 99% of wrangler owners have no reason to buy a Rubicon.
Except for the color matched fenders and top 🤷🏽♀️.
@@TheBerkeleyBeautyeh, if that's your thing I guess it sucks. It doesn't really bother me, since it's an aesthetic thing only. Willys seems like a budget Rubi now. I imagine the amount of people who really want a color matched top and fenders plus the performance of the Dana 44 in the front are quite small.
@@TheBerkeleyBeautyi personally like how the non body colored fenders and hardtop looks because of how it introduces contrast to the look
More things mean more issues. I loved my jeep but the recalls and warrenty issues ive had makes me think all that new stuff means even more problems.
@@TheBerkeleyBeauty The regular Rubicon comes with black fenders. Have to get the Rubicon X to get body color fenders.
I would pick up a Willy’s XR I think. Stopped by the dealer today on the way though the area and they only had 4xe models on the lot.
Interesting. We still need to check out a 4xe
@@DIRTROADCRED there were a ton of them at Faulkner in Mechanicsburg. Prob 20+.
$1,000 month car payment and $300 a month insurance - LOL
Very informative! I’m so thankful I got my 23 when I did because the 24 is not for me.
Good on yah!
If you have a family.. 2024 with the side airbags. I love my 2024 Rubicon X is awesome.
Can you recommend door hangers for 2023 jlu.
I use extreme metal products out of Ohio, we will do a video soon!
50k quote out the door just for a wrangler unlimited here in Hawaii, trd off road 46. I thought i could get a jeep much closer, but can't. Tacoma it is i suppose 🤙
Might pick up a 23 or 24 late next year depending on if pricing comes down. If not I'll probably pick up an older JL or sub-100K miles JK.
Can’t go wrong with a JK!
So the 2024 rubicon model only comes in cloth seats no leather option and power seats are not an option either??? Which trim has the power seats?
Rubicon X you get leather and powered seats!
I ordered a 2024, got told it was going to be at least 90 more days beyond what I was initially told, so I found and bought a 2024 Rubicon XR. It’s nice. Im glad I bought it.
What color?
@@TheBerkeleyBeauty black unfortunately. I can live with it, even though it’s dirty as hell right now. I’ve only had it 4 days and already went playing in it, a few times.
Sick!
They're trying to make the Jeep like everybody else and that's not good Jeep is awesome and solid axles full-frame it's not like everybody else's vehicle everybody else's vehicles are boring everybody copies off each other and everyday Vehicles don't last long or hold up I don't see any upgrades in anterior it looks like it's last in the 24
I like the 24, but, why not save almost $10k especially now? I would opt for the 23 rubicon. Not much difference it seems. Unless I'm wrong
There is really not much advantage for 2023.
The 2024 beats 2023 by a lot, especially the 12.5 inch display, side curtain airbags etc,
Dealers may want to discount 2023 models as there is no reason for 23 to sit on their lots when 24 is sitting side by side.
As for MSRP, you get a lot more for your money buying 24.
I built one online the other day, also no leather seats option for the standard Rubicon.
Have to get the Rubicon X for the leather seats.
@@JJMassar, And the Rubicon X has a $10k higher starting price.
@@RadYOacTVe Correct….
I think It’ll come back. Stellantis is hurting big time right now. Their pricing across the board on everything they make is redonkerous.
Yup!
Glad I bought my 23 Rubicon XR, especially with the price of the new 24’s. I ordered it with nearly everything I could unfortunately Gorilla Glass wasn’t offered at the time and I really liked it in my Gladiator. I think it’s ridiculous to put the antenna in the windshield, anyone who has owned a Jeep knows how much they crack and break 😂. That new screen and dash takes away two vents and when you live in a state like mine you need those vents in the summer and winter months. I purposely ordered the Dark Saddle Leather Seats just to avoid the red dash in mine and I love them along with my gray dash. Good luck selling those wheels to those who want to. I would like the stronger towing capabilities though. Also not a fan of the new grille. I didn’t care for my color matched grille once I got my Jeep so we bought a new one and my husband painted it and actually matched it with my new fender flares and new bumpers which look tough, like a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon should look!
Each to their own!
Enjoy your 2023!
I’ve been thinking about this a lot longer than I thought I was due to the 2024 manual transmission delays. 2024 seems like a no brainer with the adaptive cruise, wireless CarPlay, and larger/flat display but the customizations of the builder are a disaster now. I’m really not in the market to spend $60k but trying to tick certain boxes which should be standard in 2024 really just keeps you flirting with it.
You're not wrong!
One big thing that I really like is now at 3.6 doesn’t have the E torque. Much simpler.
Agreed!
the safety features make the 2024 appealing as well as floating axl...however I hate the new dash and the new grill when next to the old one just doesnt look intimidating.
Right!
I have a 2019 Sport S 2 door that I ordered and love. I have wanted a Jeep since I was a kid. I wanted a Bronco after the first look at the concept. I picked up my JL before the Bronco launched. I have since looked at the 2 door Bronco and HATE them. SO glad I didn't wait. That said, I HATE the interior refresh on the 2024 JL. IMO, Jeep is trying to compete with stylings of the Bronco. Jeep changed the rounded instrument cluster to more rectangular - like the Btonco. I HATE the huge aftermarket head units in JLs, and likewise HATE the HUGE screen in the '24. I have the 7", which I think is the perfect compromise. I also LOVE my AC vents. I can position them 360 degrees. Best vents I have ever had. (I do wish I had a lower vent below the steering wheel. The new vent placement is awkard to me. Honestly, I wasn't big on the metallic dash at first and still hate the red dash, but they look better to me than the '24. Wonderful thing about Jeeps - they're each our own. LOVE the channel!
Thanks for the comment! Jeeps for life!
The new 2024 grille design is great or even better than the 2023 grille design but I think Jeep should make a metal version of the 2024 wrangler grille. This would look good on the high altitude 4xe version of the wrangler. The older 2023 wrangler grille design worked well with the high altitude 4xe wrangler.
Love it!
I hate the old big plastic red dash panel so much.
That’s why I got mine paint matched with distinction applied!
@@DIRTROADCRED it’s much nicer the way you have it done.
When the first Jeep Rubicon came out in 2003 it was the last of the real Jeeps.
It's a shame that the Rubicon has become a glamorous status symbol, version for Jeep. They are never used for its intended purpose by the people that purchase them.
Agree to disagree
When do You think they’ll put the hurricane into the wrangler? Turbo Inline 6 ? Yes please.
Possibly for the 2025
Besides losing the ability to configure they took away the Willys Sport which was a very budget friendly model for an old guy like me who wanted a reasonably priced Jeep that looked a bit more rugged right from the start; especially since I had no interest in doing mods. I just wanted an OEM vehicle that worked as a daily driver and light duty weekend adventure vehicle. Actually what I needed was a fully restored 2006 Jeep Unlimited. LOL!
Then buy a used Willy’s sport
LOL! I bought a new Willys Sport in 2022; I was just sad to see them get cut from the lineup as they were exactly what I wanted as my retirement vehicle. It will be interesting to see if Stellantis’ positioning Jeep = Land Rover works for them. I’m in my late 60’s so I won’t need another one. Maybe high end is what the younger generation wants from their Jeeps. I wanted something with the least tech and a LSD fir those snowy days when there is no time to stop and engage lockers.
Agree, it stinks that they do not offer the Willys Soprt for 2024. It would save some noticeable $$. Wish I had my 78 CJ7 back but that ship has sailed!
haha!
We have had many Jeeps, JK, JL and we decided not to go with the 2024. The 2024 Interior is cheap, plastics are flimsy, and the horrible big nasty screen in with the old square air vents from the 80"s isn't a Jeep. So my opinion is staying with our 2012 which we still have the lifetime warranty, the 2019 Sahara which we love, we bought it with as many options we could get at the time, and our 2023 Rubicon is Awesome!. The packages for the 2024's are horrible and the prices are just as bad. We will be waiting for another change or maybe a different product. Thanks for your opinion on the 2023 versus the 2024.
I am a low tech person. I'll keep my 2015 JKU. I don't like all the "nannies" on the newer vehicles.
Thats okay!
Definitely a 2024, but not until all of the options are available, and they work customizations back in. Pricing needs to come back down to earth as well.
Seat/Interior Color Options
New Audio System Option isn’t in yet
Fender Flares
Rugged Flooring Option
Packages and Configurator is still having issues as well.
It’s clear Jeep has pre-released the 2024’s. Consumers just need to hold off til Q1/Q2 and they will hopefully have all of the additional options available at a reasonable cost.
Valid points!
How much is one unit in pesos
Not sure!
What?? Colour matched fenders only on the Rubicon X? That's insane!
That’s how they’re gonna get folks to buy IT over the Willys. That’s what got me🤷🏽♀️
@@TheBerkeleyBeauty The colour matched top has never tickled my fancy though. There's no winning no matter what model I choose.
Definitely a bummer
Exactly! I want the color matched flares but a soft top. I got bigger problems waiting on a manual right now though. I wonder if they’ll open up the builder a bit after they force the early adopters to up spend on the X?
The only item I wish my 2023 Jeep would have are the power seats ; At my age I can sure use them. The other item I like is the front grill on the 2024, but I have a black satin grill on my 2023 and for me that is not such a big of a deal. As far as the dashboard I prefer the 2023 since I like the smaller screen.
I agre with you. I especially like the flat screen/dash in my 2023. I don’t like the screen in your face type set up.
Understandable!
I ordered a Rubicon X in Anvil on April 24th and the Dealership has told me they have no idea when manufacturing will begin. I may not get it until next year. Very disappointed in Jeep!!!
Damn! Hoping soon
For me its 2024 because they allow the 3.6 V6 to be configured WITHOUT eTorque (no 24 volt battery) and 4.88 gears
👍
It’s a 2 inch high screen!
2024!!
Yes!!
No leather on the regular Rubicon and no option to ditch the color matching roof/fenders on the X is a huge fail.
Definitely wish there were more options to chose from
They're ditching the ecodiesel engine for the gladiator for 2024????
I am almost 100 percent certain
@@DIRTROADCRED sad times.
2024 looks terrible with that grill😅 but the big screen TV on the dash will be a favorite for the city Boys!
We like the new grille!
2024 model, i feel as if the screen has been slapped onto dash. The old one looks better, rugged, in-built into dash.
If you really use a Wrangler as intended, off road, you don't want that antenna in your windshield. $$$
I would agree!
👍🏽
🫡
Old grill is so much better looking
We like the new one, but both are great
Color match
Yes!
both such a bargain at $70k - LOL
he missed the biggest change electric seats.
Powered seats only come in the Rubicon X
Neither. People buying these things at close to $80K are enabling car dealers to keep selling them at these ABSURD prices. Buy used. From an individual. The end.
Factory ordering will get you msrp or under invoice at the right dealers
I don't like the wheels of the '24 Rubicon. They look girly and begging for an upgrade.
Upgrade is a must

Neither....jeeps are overpriced and overbuilt for all the problems they have. All jeep is trying to do with the wrangler now is make it some glorified luxury SUV. Buy an older and I mean older one if you want anything remotely reliable. I have an 01 Cherokee and the only problem I have are the occasional electrical gremlin, or the rusty bolt that hasn't moved in 20 plus years.
ok!
finely no red panels, for me this so ugly, the 2024 is way much better....whats the price gone be like?
Discount pricing at our dealer!
2023 because it’s had all the bugs worked out already ❤😊
Well said!
Honestly I wouldn't buy either one..waaay overpriced for what they are
😂
☝️🤣"EASY" ,, wait till late 2024 or early 2025. WHY? right now the 2023's are just rusting on the dealership lots. W.S.J. articles on how every vehicle is WAY over priced and we will also experience an economic downturn in 2024. That means new 2023's, 2024's and early 2025 JEEPS all sitting rusting on the lots.. best time to buy is early 2025
Interesting
Nope get something older reinforce it build it for the trail and forget the Stellantis horseshit . These aren't even jeeps anymore
Sounds good
Nether.
Just
Empty

May sound like a joke but it's not. Don't get me wrong, I love my jeep.i honestly don't why I still love my jeep but I do. Damn thing has stranded me on the side of the road a few times, with weeks worth of repairs. Most recent dash board Christmas tree. 3 pages of errors. $1000 tow bill and $600 rentel so far and no answers as of yet on what May be the problem this time. New jeep owners, hehe, it's painful. Future jeep owners be where. All Wranglers have serious gremlins the pop up with no warning. Have a spare vehicle and deep pockets!
Lol I’ve owned a ton and luckily have not had any gremlins
Warranty to 125,000 miles, 8 Years is around a grand.
