I really love your videos your videos taught me a lot more about Ford's I'm a General Motors man but I like Ford's to I don't have no college degree no bachelor's degree in mechanics but how I learned by my father tear down engines rebuilding Etc keep up the good work and help people out I repair cars for people that can't afford it I'm pretty much a good cheap mechanic
Bought a $1400 2024 LAUNCH IMMO Elite Pro and tried twice to programm 2 new keyes as I only have one on my 2004 F150 4.6 XLT Super Crew and failed both times... Will try again after watching this video... Thanks..
Thanks for the info. I recently got taken on a key, bought a "Ford Factory" key off ebay that was a 40 bit. It was listed as compatible with my car (2012 Ford Fusion). There is the older 40bit and the newer 80bit keys. An 80 bit key can be used on a 40bit system but a 40bit will not work on an 80bit. 80 bit will have an A as the second letter such as SA or HA. 40 bit will just have the S or H. Hope this helps somebody.
m ph...Yea,,, I'm sorry to hear that. I see your comment is 2 years ago. Hope you got everything straightened out by now. I too just bought 2 new keys for my Ford, but I bought mine through Amazon. They needed to be cut and programmed. I got them both cut and tested, they both work, they open the doors ok. Stick them in the ignition, it cranks but no start. I only have 1 original key that works. Looks like I have to go to a Ford dealership to get them programmed. I know Ford dealership is going to kick my butt. I've been told, car dealerships are very expensive.
Excellent and easy to understand info in this video that is much less complicated than all of the previous information I was able to find regarding Ford key programming. Our used 2013 Focus came with only a single basic non-remote key since it was a repo vehicle purchased at auction by our local non-Ford dealership. Our local small town Ford dealership has no ability to cut a key for us and we have no locksmiths in town to laser cut them either, but we were quoted a price of $250 each to order and program each key, and that's after we get it cut somewhere else. $500+ for two remote keys is pretty pricey stuff. Looks like we may end up seeking out a full-service locksmith when we can get to the "big city".
Scott Lockhart Follow-up question... Are ALL of the doors supposed to lock/unlock simultaneously using the single non-remoted key in the door lock of our 2013 Focus? This key will LOCK them all together, but will only intermittently, and without any pattern we can decipher, UN-lock them all together.
What well-behaved boxers! Some time back we had one in a Mail Boxes Etc. whom helped us get through the days work too LOL! Thank you for explaining the dealership programming software with pictures; it's very akin to administrating passwords to groups of users on computers.
I work in Product Development and it is awesome to see videos like this. I dont get to see stuff that the techs do - like missing keys - I had an 08 Explorer that I lost a key right after I bought the truck (non-IKH) and one of my engineer colleagues programmed a replacement - he said there was some long ridiculous code you had to enter and very few people know what it is... Regardless, I am trying to add a key to my 07 Fusion and did what you showed in the video. Simple, quick - other than the 10 minute wait, and easy. Its funny what they dont tell us and we build the damn things...
Dude! Your dogs are awesome! At first I thought the one was a statue of the RCA dog Victor. The other one is just amazed at every word you're saying. So much so he cannot take his eyes off you. I had to rewatch the video since I missed a lot of what you said due to the dogs. Love it!
Brian, I also have an IDS factory scanning tool. I am a locksmith and a mechanic. I also have a locksmith tool that can bypass the 10 minute wait. Just as a suggestion if people would go to their local locksmith we are very friendly and can provide OEM Ford keys. Hopefully on your tour this summer you will get to stop by and maybe see me. You are only a few hours from where I live and I would enjoy talking to you. I think you're highly educated and I think you put out some fantastic videos. So continue to put them out and I'll be looking for each and everyone. By the way I am in Indiana and I am on Google +
Hello Brian, what is the procedure if you have lost all keys? Can you still use the ids? I have a jbox2 and it wont allow me to program unless i have another key. tips?
Thanks again for posting!! I have had a locksmith program a key when I only had one in the past...but now that I know dealerships can erase past keys, its worth getting an oem key and taking it there for my recently purchased 14 Mustang GT. Honestly the dealer I go to is cheaper than an auto locksmith by about 10 bucks.
Joseph Bentley locksmiths can delete the old keys as well. One thing he didn’t mention is that when you do that procedure you WILL need a total of TWO keys to program back in. I’m a fifth generation locksmith and we provide this service daily.
I am very interested in learning what i would need and the how to program modules . I was looking for this for quite some time a thru ford dealer tech please keep up the great videos . Good luck to you in your future endeavors and god bless .
Wow.. Not sure if you remember, but i had discussed an issue i had with a 300 mile transit connect having a no crank / no start issue.. turns out a locksmith had programmed a new key for it just before i got it, and i definitely believe that is what has caused the issue. Once it comes back from the dealer, i will know for sure. I just thought it was interesting you specifically mentioned the transit connect being very picky with key programming.
nowadays even walmart can make transponder key copies for $65 cheaper than even autozone for $100 and for sure cheaper than any dealer and they work just as good... I bought a 1999 f250 with one key so now I got my second one but keep a non chipped in a magnetic box under the truck in case I get locked out but still wont start the car, maybe later I will get another chipped and keep that under the truck instead . Hope this helps others.
I am surprised Ford still makes the dealer wait out the 10 minutes. It is a rudimentary security measure originally developed in the 1980s when the first Fords were set up with transponders. This made it hard for a thief to add a key to a vehicle QUICKLY. Ford dealers GENERALLY can only look up a vin for most recent 10 years. Unless the dealer is also a NASTF member ( usually that is just locksmiths ), then the history goes back to about 1998. As a locksmith, I do not usually need to run vin numbers for a key code. But that is one of the benefits a locksmith will have. It is a narrow specialty that to go all-in, takes an investment and training most dealerships will not involve themselves in. But I do not profess to repair cars. I service the immo system and the related mechanical components only. My job ends when the theft light goes out.
A friend of mine has programed quite a few keys for ford f150s of diff yrs with a simple scanner that was like 100 bucks which he bought as a regular code scanner
That's awesome that they can delete the previous keys! I just bought a 14 Fusion, and only got one key to her. Of course, it's not an administer key, and has the myKey enabled. :(
Very informative! I'm surprised you convinced the "shop managers" to stay still on top of that cart...lol. I notice you use your escape as an example vehicle to demonstrate a lot of things. I'd like to see a video of changing a serpentine belt on a 2.5. Looks kinda like a pain in the butt but something I'd like to do to our 2011 at some point. It only has about 55k miles but we are gonna keep it for awhile and I like to keep up on maintenance.
klc317 I can do a video on that yes mine was changed recently but a simple removal and install video would be great content idea! Look for it in the near future.
That would be cool! Wasn't sure if motor mount had to be taken loose. Haven't really looked that close yet. Want to check the idler pulley as Ive heard they can get noisy due to plastic hub construction. Thanks again!
Have you ever thought about doing a video on what it takes to aquire, own, and use an IDS scan tool without working at the dealer. I know they can be bought but have no clue about any subscriptions that would have to be kept up or anything. I'd like to get into some Powerstroke repair stuff on the side and the IDS is definitely the best. What about the credentials required to download the files to program P's and other modules on Ford vehicles?
At Audi we have similar programming using the scan tool minus the wait however if a customer needs another key programmed, we need allll known keys even ones left at home to do it so it relearns all the keys. If you just bring me one and want one from parts programmed, guess what keys at home wont work anymore. Also if they are already programmed to another vehicle, they cant be programmed to another so no used keys. It comes in handy though if someone stole the car with the key and still has the key after its recovered, come to us to reprogram a new key, that stolen key will no longer work on any vehicle.
I have a 2016 f150 lariat that has developed a strange problem. It will randomly lock itself, anytime, day or night, key fob will be sitting on counter or hanging on wall, horn will honk, lights will flash just like you were locking it with fob. I put new batteries in both fobs, didn't help. I took out the batteries in the suspected fob and so far, to my knowledge, it has not happened. So now at a point of buying new fob. Has anyone ever heard of this? BTW, love your channel.
Thank you!!! I just programmed a key on a 09 Focus using FORScan, I'm still learning how to use it and its capabilities. Do you have a take on this software?
The lil dog wants to know who the heck you are talking to and what are you doing!!! great video as always Bought 4 new keys(2 with buttons, 2 without) for 2012 F150 , $86 on Amazon, keyless 2 go... Dealer wanted $11,786,000,504,000,760.37 to cut and program 4 keys!!! Called mobile key company, wanted almost as much Took them to old school locksmith JD's keys in McKinney Texas , cut 4 keys for $8 + tax... Asked me if I needed help programming them, said would do it for nothing... I just asked how to do it, went home and did exactly what he said, 3 minutes later 4 keys working perfectly that dude was amazing I hate the dealer I bought my truck from, I looked up the ratings online for the service dept, they had an average rating of "D"
I have 1 original key I have ace hardware cut my duplicate you can open door but not start, inside the key hole on steering coloum there's a round plastic thing I think that's the security lock of the key just tape your original key in there then use your duplicate key to start the engine no more programming needed
And ten seconds to steal. Seriously though just another gimmick u gotta pay for nothin any security system can fight .. A flat rollback and dollies.. And four minutes... Im from longbeach.. I seen it done..
Thank you sir for the video. do you happen to also do the smart key as well. I would love to see how that is done. I have a 2011 mkx push button ignition.....
How can I program new keys when the ignition cylinder has been replaced due to attempted theft, I have replaced the batteries on 2000 Ford excursion Disel too, thank you!!
Please help! I changed ignition lock and key and small chip that is under the lock and it has a ring around the lock... That everything is from the one another car, now i have THEFT light. What I must do? Please help!
Jsut another way for Auto Makers to Create More Business ( Profits) for its Dealers..Samefor creating More Items to come with the car that used to be Optional..just to raise its prices and Profits!
Hi Brian. Would you tell us more about the Transit Connect? I just bought a 2016 with one key and am going to get a second key from the dealer. I will check all functions before I leave, but would like more information on keys. Thanks
Have you tried FORScan yet? I dubbed it "Poor Man's IDS", the latest beta has introduced PATS programming ability for a lot of the popular US Ford products up to 2010.
What if you've lost your original and have NO keys. Ford dealer told me to put the Windstar on a flatbed, bring it to them. Theyll install the new ignition and program the keys. We live in a small rural community and no locksmith within an hour either. Can't I install the new ignition myself and progeam the keys?? Any help would be tremendously appreciated.
Subscribed! I am trying to program the two keys, erase all and cycle key1 cycle key2 cycle key1 etc. I do this but as soon as I put in my second key the anti theft light flashes when I go to cycle key2. Finish and neither are programmed. Ilco keys I'm so close going through the same Menus you had.
So if my 2014 fusion had 2 fobs but I lost one but bought a new replacement fob do I need to go to the dealership to get this new 3rd fob programmed or can I do it myself since its technically a 3rd fob? What ius a rough cost they charge to program keys I am guessing not covered under the extended platinum warranty plan?
I just purchased a 12 explorer & it only came with 1 mykey and has all the safety features on. Local Ford dealer says i need 2 new keys at 135 apiece & 130 in labor to program so that i can turn mykey off....... wish i had known that before i bought it
Hello FordTechMakuloco. I am having two issues with my 2008 Ford F250 Lariat. One of the issues is in a video that I have uploaded. The two issues I am having is the traction control switch comes off and the system doesn't work but I replaced the abs module and the switch. Also the key less entry fob does not work with the truck. It does not unlock or lock any of the doors. I have tried all of the reprogramming things and nothing has worked. None of the fobs work and the Ford dealer can't figure it out too. Same with the traction control issue.
What is the deal with the new requirement of being a licensed locksmith to access PATS on new fords. I have a VCM 2 and IDS as a DIY’er and I can’t even program keys on my own car because I don’t “own a business with million dollar insurance,” how does you shop deal with this? Are you guys on the licensed locksmith list or can you just not do new keys? This just seems like the most anti consumer thing possible because even though I have the means I have to pay some locksmith 100 bucks to do something that I am perfectly capable of doing myself. This is on a 2018 Ford Edge btw
Hi @ FordTechMakuloco, thanks for your video very helpful. There is my situation I did burnt out my pcm and a new one is required. So I am wondering if I buy a used one do I need to erase other key and add mine or Do i just need to add only mine and ready to go for my ford escape 2015.
I have a 2016 Focus that I bought wrecked from Copart with no key at all. I got a parts car (2015 MY) with keys. I removed the complete lock cylinder/Transceiver assembly from both cars, swapped the electronic components from the 2016 to the 2015, and installed the 2015 into the car. Now I have the car's original electronics, and a good cylinder/key assembly. So I can turn the key to "on" and everything powers up like it should. It doesn't start, though (which is no surprise). The only thing wrong is that the car won't actually start, and I have a "no key detected" message on the dash. Can I take the car to the dealer and have them program the 2015 keys to my car?
I have a 2008 Lincoln mkx and my remote starter is not working, what is happening is when I press the start button the ignition comes on and the horn starts honking
Great video. I have a question. Is there anyway that the PATS wont work but the unlock/lock, etc still work? I have traced everything on a 2014 Mustang V6 and cant figure out why it wont start. No relay click on the starter relay. Thanks for any help.
Question , I have an integrated key with 4 buttons for my Lincoln. I also have a factory remote starter that works with an additional appendage remote. I want to know is there a way to program my integrated key to remote start my car possibly by pressing a combination of buttons or pressing one button multiple times?
Shame they done the keys that way , Not all dealers want to do keys for you and only a few scan tools can program them . Some locksmiths near here do them also.
Is there a way to get the software or whatever is needed for that, and do it yourself??? That would be a really nice thing if a guy could actually do the key replacement themselves and not have to use something like forscan, which I have heard of some people doing
Why does programing a new key require 2 Keys? I have an older ford Expedition 97 Eddie Bauer. I only recieved 1 key when I purchased the used truck 4 years ago. I am not sure why this worked for me, but I bought 2 blank keys for cheap off Amazon with chips in them. I made copies of the blanks with my original 1 Key, I did the whole insert key turn On to On position then off then On like other videos I have seen. I used my 1 key turned On ignition to on position waited 3 sec turned Off pulled out the the 1 key I have then put same key back in ignition turned ignition to On position waited 3 second then turned off pulled out key then put in the brand new key with chip turned it to On position and theft light went out turned off. Then started the truck let it run for 5 min drove to the store and back and it works every time. Why did this work? everyone is saying you need 2 keys to do this but I did it with only 1 key. If you think something is wrong with my PATS the answer is No I have another key with a chip in it I have not programed yet if I try and start the truck with that key the theft light stays On and the truck starts then it dies after 30 seconds so the security is working like it is supposed 2. Any Thoughts is it older year maybe?
I wondered the same thing.... I bought a 2001 Escape and it only came with 1 fob and 1 PATS key. I was thinking of buying the cheap blanks from Amazon and having them cut but wasn't sure if it would work or not.
I have a black vehicle that’s been locked up and its key is lost. The last black car I had was stolen. The keys lost. We got a new key but it wasn’t ever right again. I like the new black one and I don’t want the same key guy. I don’t know what to do.
I have a 98 mustang and I'm the original owner but I have a few questions. How much will I be looking to spend since I lost one set of keys and the current key I have now I almost broken? I want the key fobs as well so give me a range of what I should expect?
Hello i replaced the lock cylinder on a 2001 mazda b3000 and selected the delete stored keys and program new ones. Followed the scan tool instructions but cannot get it to work. Am i missing something or how can i tell if the new keys are the problem
Hello Mine is Ford Fusion 2012 se While programming two new key fobs, something went wrong probably I pressed other keys than the lock key. Anyway, now the original key works fine. but the problem is : the light that indicates pairing mode is flashing every 2.5 seconds, if the original key is entered it stops flashing and can be turned on. BUT if the misprogrammed key is entered its flashing pace increases to ~ 3 times every second. The newly misprogrammed keys can lock/unlock doors but they will not open the trunk or turn the car on. I try the following but neither worked 1- Discount the battery overnight 2- switching the original key on/off and Entering programming mode and let the car exit pairing mode by itself. Please help, is there a way that let me exit the programming mode and/or reprogram the new misprogrammed keys?
Hi love the techy stuff. I would love to know if it is possible to use a 15'+ switchblade fob can be programmed to a 13' Edge Sport? I need to get replacements and love the look! TIA!
Thanks for the awesome videos. Question for you. On the 2015 Ford Fiesta ST, is it possible to have a dealer change the number of blinks from 3 to 4 for the turn signals in lane changing mode?
What is the best ONLINE resource for OEM keys? I have the same FOB/REMOTE (Full Featured) start key you are showing in your video for my 2015 F250 King Ranch and for some reason the REMOTE START function one of my two remotes doesn't work on one Key/Fob, when I try to start it, I get flashing lights and one horn honk. Is it a programming thing or something else? My remote #2 that came with the truck works fine, truck starts fine, etc.
Hi sir. I replaced the transceiver ring in column of 00 explorer after running a screw into it. Changed transceiver but cant program any keys, does transceiver need programming to car or am i doing something wrong? I have forscan tool. What are the poceedures using forscan? Plz help, Thx!
I've a 99 f150 4.6L it stopped recognize my key was told that it was the main brain in the truck then that wasn't it then was told it was in the switch but still wouldn't start
I only have 1 key for a 10 f150 which is programmed as a “mykey” if I get a new key made at a locksmith will that be enough to reset the mykey option? Or will the new key be a master key with no speed or volume limits?
I had to replace my steering column because my ignition cylinder was broken but the new steering column that I have only came with one key it turnes on but doesn't start how do I program the new key to the without goin to dealership
huh, what's that "unlimited key mode" is that essentially "disable pats", I thought of doing that on my 99 150.... on another topic, do you have any suggestions on how to do body/cab mounts on a 05 f350 using a floor jack and a set of jack stands in the street in front of my house? peeticular order, tips/tricks, etc?? thanks for your time.
Hey I gotten a 98 mustang and I had to change out the ignition cause had misplaced the original key but now I've found it... so I was wondering how could go by getting my car to crank?
I have an extended FORScan software license, and followed the 'erase and reprogram' key configuration; I got through the erase portion of that, and then the software said to reprogram keys by cycling key in ignition. I have a remote key, so there's no way to 'cycle the key in the ignition' and now my 2013 MKX will not start because it has no programmed keys. Do you know how I can get the keys programmed? I have 2 (bought the extra since FORScan told me I needed it). Please HELP! :(
I bought a 2012 expedition. I have one 4 button key and one plain key w/ a chip but no buttons. Can I buy a key online and program it myself since I have 2 keys with chips?
@FordTechMakuloco I was wondering if you know of any way to increase the range of the keyless entry on my 2006 f150. It’s a lariat supercrew, idk if that matters. Thanks in advance, and also thanks for all the lifesaving videos on the 5.4 triton!
i need a new key for my ford transit because mine is quite worn but iv not got the key code, the man said he can cut a new one but idealy needs the number codes... how do i find out the codes?
Hi I have a focus ST mk2 which is keyless entry and start but not the push button start, I've just bought some new clocks from an RS mk2 and I need the new clocks coded to the keys. Is this an easy fix . What do I need to get done? Thanks
Hi, I'm trying to program an additional key for my 2004 Explorer. I have 2 working keys, everything goes well until I put the third key in, the anti theft light doesn't go off but starts to flash quickly. what am I doing wrong?
mine are 99 mercury sable I used 2 key's on off to program a few 3rd's, My 03 F150 , the 3rd, wont program, why ?? other's in My position, had no problem, ,, like sable ,, new transponder key came with same card and instruction's. why not on mine ?
This worked great on my Ford. But on my Lincoln, it has an intelligent access key. Instead of a 10 minute PATS timeout, it is asking me to be online and to login as a dealer or with a NASTF locksmith ID. Any way around this?
The key is not the issue it is the vehicle starting in 2015 select vehicles you must be online with Ford to authenticate and it is only expanding to other models as time goes on there is no way around it.
Locksmiths that are up to date can handle this as well as many other newer systems. It is done autonimously, not via a JXXX cable, subscription or factory interface.
Hi I have a f150 2017 an the bottom to lock and unlock don’t work I change the pcm and bcm the bcm is brand new and the pcm is used the truck start and run but I can’t enter in program mode I do the 8 times with the key I tried 4, 6 times and nothing happens can you help me with this thanks

I just bought the Ford Transit. Got the option that included 4 keys. It was a 65$ option, but well worth it in the end.
Thank you! Love your dogs 🥰
I am very interested in learning what i would need and the how to program modules . I was looking for this for quite some time a thru ford dealer tech please keep up the great videos . Good luck to you in your future endeavors and god bless .

+oneslow50 It sure is there are multiple step to those being a foreign based vehicle.
How does the computer know if you are using 1 or 2 different keys to program a new key?
nowadays even walmart can make transponder key copies for $65 cheaper than even autozone for $100 and for sure cheaper than any dealer and they work just as good...
Love the dogs
I have done this successfully on a Lincoln Navigator using Forscan
My local dealer in TX wants $300 and 2 hours for this same procedure on a 2014 F350.
Banshee365 Yes I have it is on my list of videos to complete.
I was charged $100 for this at the dealer I go to, I only had one smart key for my SHO, I got a second used one off eBay for $30.
Wouldn't you have to program the smart key?
I have a 2016 f150 lariat that has developed a strange problem. It will randomly lock itself, anytime, day or night, key fob will be sitting on counter or hanging on wall, horn will honk, lights will flash just like you were locking it with fob. I put new batteries in both fobs, didn't help. I took out the batteries in the suspected fob and so far, to my knowledge, it has not happened.
So now at a point of buying new fob. Has anyone ever heard of this?
BTW, love your channel.
Really beautiful Boxers!
+Rich Van Iderstine Thanks!
Thank you!!! I just programmed a key on a 09 Focus using FORScan, I'm still learning how to use it and its capabilities. Do you have a take on this software?
transponder and transceiver are programmed(they come from the same Escape), but I still have the theft light sometimes blinking, another time static
There is no programming required for the transceiver whereas the transponder key must still be programmed.
@@FordTechMakuloco and also the cpm are from the working escape
right know the escape only have a vin mismatch
The lil dog wants to know who the heck you are talking to and what are you doing!!!
great video as always
Bought 4 new keys(2 with buttons, 2 without) for 2012 F150 , $86 on Amazon, keyless 2 go...
Dealer wanted $11,786,000,504,000,760.37 to cut and program 4 keys!!!
Called mobile key company, wanted almost as much
Took them to old school locksmith JD's keys in McKinney Texas , cut 4 keys for $8 + tax...
Asked me if I needed help programming them, said would do it for nothing...
I just asked how to do it, went home and did exactly what he said, 3 minutes later 4 keys working perfectly
that dude was amazing
I hate the dealer I bought my truck from, I looked up the ratings online for the service dept, they had an average rating of "D"
great video.
about how much does it cost to have a dealer program a key if you already have one.
Not true cuz I got mine done for $3 to cut it & $50 to program it @ a local locksmiths shop dat was 3 yrs ago, haven't had any problems yet..!!!
I love the dogs...
I have 1 original key I have ace hardware cut my duplicate you can open door but not start, inside the key hole on steering coloum there's a round plastic thing I think that's the security lock of the key just tape your original key in there then use your duplicate key to start the engine no more programming needed
Great info and cool dogs too!
this is why i love my old hot rods..$2.11 and no crap..
Can I do a new PATS at home on a blank transponder with only one key?
Michael Luscher I just purchased it and the adapter we will see how it works out.
FordTechMakuloco well
Did it work? I just got elm327 with switch and forscan and would like to try it out. Thanks
Jason Khammo did it work with the elm327???
@@williamdiaz8100 AFAIK elm327 doesn't have programming capabilities
What if you've lost your original and have NO keys. Ford dealer told me to put the Windstar on a flatbed, bring it to them. Theyll install the new ignition and program the keys. We live in a small rural community and no locksmith within an hour either. Can't I install the new ignition myself and progeam the keys?? Any help would be tremendously appreciated.
Excellent vid
Was curious i got a 2013 police interceptor and notice it had a door keypad is it possible to turn it on?
I just purchased a 12 explorer & it only came with 1 mykey and has all the safety features on. Local Ford dealer says i need 2 new keys at 135 apiece & 130 in labor to program so that i can turn mykey off....... wish i had known that before i bought it
One other thing is if you have remote start and you have non remote start keys programmed only the non remote start keys will start the vehicle.
Dogs are awesome
How can I aquire the software and plugs?
What is the deal with the new requirement of being a licensed locksmith to access PATS on new fords. I have a VCM 2 and IDS as a DIY’er and I can’t even program keys on my own car because I don’t “own a business with million dollar insurance,” how does you shop deal with this? Are you guys on the licensed locksmith list or can you just not do new keys? This just seems like the most anti consumer thing possible because even though I have the means I have to pay some locksmith 100 bucks to do something that I am perfectly capable of doing myself. This is on a 2018 Ford Edge btw
Hi @
FordTechMakuloco, thanks for your video very helpful.
Love Boxers
Can one of those newer style keys with the built-in remote be used in the older Fords that have it separate?
Hello
Mine is Ford Fusion 2012 se
While programming two new key fobs, something went wrong probably I pressed other keys than the lock key.
Anyway, now the original key works fine. but the problem is :
the light that indicates pairing mode is flashing every 2.5 seconds, if the original key is entered it stops flashing and can be turned on. BUT if the misprogrammed key is entered its flashing pace increases to ~ 3 times every second. The newly misprogrammed keys can lock/unlock doors but they will not open the trunk or turn the car on.
I try the following but neither worked
1- Discount the battery overnight
2- switching the original key on/off and Entering programming mode and let the car exit pairing mode by itself.
TIA!
what scan tool or thing your using to do this? also if I replaced my pcm how do i program the key to that
Can you get a new key fob for a Ford 2008 Expedition and get one to use for starting the truck???
The 40/80 bit keys don't work on pre-2000 cars. My 99 SHO took an H73 key
So we have a Ford F 150 with two remotes, how Do I program a new 3rd or 4th key, as you mentioned here?
Thanks for the awesome videos. Question for you. On the 2015 Ford Fiesta ST, is it possible to have a dealer change the number of blinks from 3 to 4 for the turn signals in lane changing mode?
***** I highly doubt it but then again I never looked into the programables on this particular car each one is different.
I feel like if I owned a vehicle that had one of these, and the key broke or something, I would just rewire the whole thing and be done with it.
Can you DIY on 2018 models with push start? Still have two original fobs.
I had to replace my steering column because my ignition cylinder was broken but the new steering column that I have only came with one key it turnes on but doesn't start how do I program the new key to the without goin to dealership
So if you have no programmed keys, you will need to go to a dealership?
+Catelyn Rossetto yes or locksmith
What if your programmed key is broken in half what are your options? The dealership or locksmith?
@@nfamousonline take the chip out of the broken key and use it to program another key.
huh, what's that "unlimited key mode" is that essentially "disable pats", I thought of doing that on my 99 150....
on another topic, do you have any suggestions on how to do body/cab mounts on a 05 f350 using a floor jack and a set of jack stands in the street in front of my house? peeticular order, tips/tricks, etc??
thanks for your time.
What if you don't have a key and need one
same prosses for a 2014 ford fusion se key?
@FordTechMakuloco I was wondering if you know of any way to increase the range of the keyless entry on my 2006 f150. It’s a lariat supercrew, idk if that matters. Thanks in advance, and also thanks for all the lifesaving videos on the 5.4 triton!
Not including the ‘put it on your head’ trick haha, I was thinking more along the line of lengthening the antenna or something along those lines.
i need a new key for my ford transit because mine is quite worn but iv not got the key code, the man said he can cut a new one but idealy needs the number codes... how do i find out the codes?
Hi I have a focus ST mk2 which is keyless entry and start but not the push button start, I've just bought some new clocks from an RS mk2 and I need the new clocks coded to the keys. Is this an easy fix . What do I need to get done? Thanks
Hi, I'm trying to program an additional key for my 2004 Explorer. I have 2 working keys, everything goes well until I put the third key in, the anti theft light doesn't go off but starts to flash quickly. what am I doing wrong?
What scan tool do you use ?
mine are 99 mercury sable I used 2 key's on off to program a few 3rd's, My 03 F150 , the 3rd, wont program, why ?? other's in My position, had no problem, ,, like sable ,, new transponder key came with same card and instruction's. why not on mine ?
