Based on these stories, I can smell narcissism from afar. 1) Lack of empathy. 2) Poor boundary recognition. 3) Entitlement. 4) Cheating and constant need for external validation (narcissistic supply). 5) Lack of accountability. 6) Blame-shifting. 7) Controlling. 8) Verbally and physically abusive. 9) Starting smear-campaigns. 10) Can't stay single for extended periods of time, and is likely to monkey branch to another farang if he serves her better. 11) Love-bombing. They try to lock a guy down as fast as possible so the mask can drop. 12) They act like chameleons who adapt and shape-shift depending on people they are with, and environments they're in. Just some observations.

your description is pretty much accurare and what he is trying to describe in this video is the same, Dan seems to be taking a more neutral position these days or wanting to be politically correct or something like that, so he can please all his viewers . An older lady at my condo, she had the police on her side for a long time, but the more complaints there were about her, to the tourist police, she got evicted.,charged and her businesses closed, she seemed to making good money but got greedy stealing deposits, double renting units,, not paying landlords their shares

Long before I knew Thai girls I knew how to counter various states of abnormal psychology. But on the point of a Thai girl's (false) sense of entitlement, guys will either allow it or not. The thing to analyse isn't the girls - it's the guys lol. I see guys tolerating waaaay more from these girls than they would a male friend or other platonic relationship. The majority of girls have a profile of ferangs that's been set by soft ferangs who need to be wanted and want sex and it's spread amongst a certain generation, class and culture of Thai girls. And what are most guys doing in all these stories? They're reinforcing it and enabling it.
Imagine if instead, this was the status quo....
    1) when I girl asked her ferang to visit their village, she'd be worried they'd hesitate or say "No! I don't want to meet your family until we've been together a lot longer" (or never if they're just a passing freelancer/bar girl)
    2) if they asked for extra money (besides what they're getting) the ferangs said, "You can pay that with what I've already given you - your expenses aren't mine.
    3) when they sulked, we triple-sulked back or kicked them out. 🤣🤣 [If a chick gives me the calculated sulks, she'll discover she's living in Antarctica when she comes out of it.]
(Guys, here's a freebie... attention-seekers must always be met with rejection!)
    4) if they weapinise sex, we weapinise generosity. Don't give in to demands. There is always another 1000 girls to choose. A man who surrenders to "snatchmail" is weak.
Guys need to change the profiling and they could all start today. So although Dan presented a valid story he received, I can only laugh at the concept of, "an entitled Thai girl." They ain't got shit to be entitled about, and even less than any western ferang has too. Guys need to stop enabling this psychological terrorism.
Any of you who know the bar on Soi Buakhao, Pattaya, called, "Sick Buffalo"? Been open a few years now, and guess what? QED I've not heard the "sick buffalo" story in Pattaya for a while 🤣. I have came to the conclusion that most of the men that get taken to the cleaners, had very little to no experience dating women at all in their home countries. Most married young, and divorced late, and or went through more than one marriage. They never dated a lot, and and thus never learned women. Women in America can and do pull the same stunts. What I call the pity stories. The worst ones will get knocked up and have you paying child support for 18 years. I dodged that, but many don't. Once a man realizes there are 10,000 just like the one he is talking to, he realizes he has all the power not the female. But few come to that realization.

Narcissistic Thai women - I have to agree this is definitely an observation and experience that I have had over the decade being in Thailand.
I even began to research psychology and looked into narcissism and sociopathic disorders a few years back because of their behaviour. These traits I have observed in many Thai women.
A lot of foreigners agree, but there are quite a few who downplay and excuse their behaviour, virtue signaling and even condoning bad behaviour ("they are poor, they need money" etc).
There are a lot of lies, deception, fraud. Immoral and unethical behaviour that any civilized society would never condone. Sure, women in other countries exhibit these traits too, but overwhelmingly it is a lot more rampant here.
Narcissistic women has exponentially increased IMO from the advent of social media as well. Women are hooked to their phones like an IV line in their veins, addicted to messages from men bending over backwards to get their attention.
As a retired expat with a very modest income, I don't cut it with the educated, professional Thai crowd, so relationship-wise I am mostly limited to the lower socio-economic uneducated population of women - and that is where the troubles lie. They have been raised to scam, lie, deceive, swindle. So many of us are exposed to the 'trailer trash' segment of the population. 'Dog eat dog' mentality. They don't care about you. We are expendable commodities.

Anytime someone mentions money just tell them you don't have any. This is solid advice otherwise you'll get ground into hamburger meat by the se Asian machine.

I remember on my short 6 months in Thailand I met an English guy through his gfs sister a former student at the school I taught at . His apparent gf was his secretary who she had to keep secret from her family that they were actually in a relationship even though he had agreed to build a house for her mom(Insane). He was very cocky and full of bravado but she was controlling him at every opportunity. We celebrated new years together in the countryside at a bar not far from the town where I worked. I enjoyed the company of the locals as they were very funny and we lashed down the alcohol but her behavior was annoying and at one stage she slapped her farang boyfriend in the face all because he didn,t clap after her awful kareoke . He was crying in response ,it was so pathethic . For a then 26 year old ,it was a good lesson learned.

The most I agree with here with your comment at the end, we're still a visitor living in their country and should keep our values towards a relationship but not get upset about the culture of the country we choose to live in but I've never had trouble in my marriage to my wife here, took my time and I did have the advantage of my brother being married to a Thai woman here for 30yrs so she pretty much made sure I was okay with my choices and gave me serious advice on who I dated before meeting my wife, I think most of the problems with men moving here and meeting women is most are over 50, expecting a beautiful 18 to 29yr old being in love with them for them, I'm not saying if you're 60 find 60yr old women, just don't expect a girl to be in love with you, find someone over 30 at least if you're much older and definitely don't find a woman in a tourist area, you have less than 1% of it working out

You are 100% right. I'm 65 and my Thai partner is 50. She never asks for money she often pays. She works 12 hour shifts as a nurse. She is loving and caring. She wants companionship like most of us do. She has a home she owns. Most who complain about Thai woman have problems because of how they meet them. You wouldn't get a farang coming to Thailand and moving to Mae Hong Son straight away then looking for a girlfriend, they go to where other farangs are and meet girls there. The Girls go there because its where they will meet farangs. The type of Thai woman who move to these places are in it for money. They don't come from Pattaya or Phuket, its not their home town, they're not locals. They move there for opportunity and the farang is opportunity. Often they are schooled up by professionals who get a cut. I was staying in Chiang Mai where I met my GF outside of any tourist area, we got on well and are similar in nature and needs, we are well matched. This guy Dan is a UA-camr and needs the clicks so he does topics that attract traffic. His topics do have truths but are slanted.

I've been happily married to a thai woman now for 6 years, and the story Dough sent you, is very different from my experiences. I am quite shure that he is only talking about poor Isaan girls from the bar industry. We are living in Norway, and my wife is working full time here. I trust her 100%, and my family loves her too. I think all depends where you find your girlfriend or wife. I don't agree with Dough at all, but maybe I was just lucky 😊

That is a deadly sin! whoever does that with these girls will pay dearly usually in blood and treasure. And only misery will follow. If you want to cohabitate with a female anywhere in the world, The rule should be one year after sex. And after spending at least 1,000 hours with a girl you will know everything you need to know about her and if you still think it’s a good idea go for it!

The best advice is to find an orothange,
Because these families will have the hand in your wallet, till its all gone .
You would think that if you start a buisness with a lady the family would be happy and let it grow , so eventually you had made money and could help them

Dan, you described this video in your opening as controversial, and that you possess a different opinion than the author of this story. You also indicated that his story was more about poor girls from poor villages. Please do not only warn your viewers about poor girls or bar girls. I am sure it is not limited to them. In a previous video Doug described his relationships with Thais, and that he never dated a lady from any village other than Bangkok. He dated professional educated women.
I hope after reading all the comments below, and in time that you have an even deeper understanding of Thai women, particularly from these enmeshed toxic greedy families, which is a large enough segment of the population. These sociopathic narcissistic traits, are genetic/inherited. This applies to all classes and income levels and is wide spread in SEA, and passed on to the next generation. Narcissism is not a poor mans disease. Narcissists engage in behaviors that provide immediate gratification, that they can gain something from, that are financially beneficial to them$$$, for increased social status, ego, power over others, and life is a game to them. They simply care about the rewards, and themselves. And enough is never enough. They also dont care about their reckless behavior or whose lives they destroy in the process.
Some of these ladies become actual heroes to their family and are a type of surrogate spouse to them. This is a fact, and a symptom of the narcissistic family system. I know this is the case for many ladies I dated and know. And they are not from poor villages. They are living with a parent and like a spouse to them. There are some better Thais, more enlightened that are not ignorant, to how many of Thai women are, and the culture itself. Myself, I met a Taiwanese lady at Changwattana, she worked at a university, told me it was disgraceful how her colleagues shared ways to take advantage of foreigners.
I think the author of the story was brave to share his insights and concerns, wishing to warn men of their abuse. You also made fun of his use of the word WARY, at the end of the video. In some ways you discredited him. As far as your comment at end as well; that we are here and cannot criticize their culture, that doesn't make it acceptable. For you information they would be very offended if people used and treated them the way they treat others. I will leave you with this:
“Unfortunately, the truth offends some, or they will insist it is not abuse in their culture, and rationalize it somehow as they do in Thailand and the Philippines. However, I am sorry but ABUSE is ABUSE, no matter where you are, and it’s the same for all humans.” Don’t get pulled into it, because they call it culture, or close family. Don’t let your judgement be clouded for the sake of political correctness. This will only cause damage to you or others by doing so.
“Cultural evolution”, constitutes the process where traits vary, and are inherited via social learning, beliefs, customs, attitudes and so on. Similar in aspects, but not the same as biological and genetic evolution. “Cultural inheritance”, is defined as storage and transmission of information, imitation, teaching and learning. Which is transmitted by the mind verse genes. A genetic base does exist though, in determining the structure of the brain (Peedicayil, 2023).
The fact is, being in a relationship in this culture it is not about love. Just like their daughters have, you also have a role as the boyfrien or husband, in this narcissistic family hierarchy, and you will always be treated as an outsider to them. The more you are willing to open your eyes, the more you begin to see. It may seem unreal, unbelievable even, but it’s not. They are a lot of domestic family issues, single parenthood, teen parenthood, poverty, and other social problems that exist here. It’s is definitely their GREED, self- centeredness, sense of entitlement and family influence that has caused most of their problems.
Thank you Doug for sharing your story

@@Rodderz1 A lot of contributing factors go into it which make it what it is.
      -Lack of a pension system
      -No/limited social security
-Most families hold onto land and keep it within the family for generations (so the children are getting pay-back in those situations)
-Heavy loan-based culture. On average, the country has some of the highest consumer debt in the world. Household debt to GDP = 91.3%
-In most cases, it is a culture of the young take care of the old (admirable)
      -Gambling issues
-In some cases, young being taken advantage of. I "think" some see their children as their nest egg but even in those cases, they are paying for education, trying to teach them English, trying to get them abroad to better their lives
      bunch of stuff to consider

I get it Dan & agree to an extent ….
I’ve been with my Thai wife for over 6 years & never been happier.
We are now living in Melbourne, Australia but met in Nonthaburi (about 1hour from Bangkok) as she’s a government worker but did grow up in maha sarakham in issan (country).
We date for almost 3 years before we made the move back to Australia,my family adore her & she is loving, caring & respectful, she works here & very smart with her money , we both respect each others culture & celebrate each other’s holidays .
Whenever she wants something she asks if she can buy it, I reply “it’s your money” she replied in my country I must ask the husband before I spend money & I though the sentiment was sweet & appreciate that she thinks before spending.
My wife is a very traditional lady & I must say being that she is educated & has a bachelors & masters degree does have a difference compared to the other ladies I met before meeting my wife , she doesn’t ask for money or expect it but every 6 months we both put together a little money to her parents not for anything but to show appreciation for how they raised their daughter.
She values the traditional gender rolls & I never have to ask her to do anything as she knows her roll as that’s the way she was brought up & I know my job as a provider & protecter so we get on really well.
If there was a disagreement of any kind which has only been a few it’s discussed like adults & she doesn’t hold a vendetta against you like the Aussie Girls do here for months.
Like Dan said , you can find a good one but have to take your time & look in the right places.
I guess most of dans car crash stories relate to bar or ex bar girls / massage girls which my wife never was but I can understand why they think this way, my father use to say “hang around trash or con men & you will become it “
I believe not to discriminate but in my search before I met my wife it was easy to tell the non educated ones from the educated (not in every case) but it raises your chances of success if you can find an educated one who has a simple life (NOT HI-SO).
DO YOU THINK I GOT LUCKY OR DO YOU THINK THIS IS ACHIEVABLE TO A FARANG ??????

It seems that the essential key to being successful in life in general, and life as a long-term expat in Thailand in particular (i.e. not a 2 week millionaire scenario), is self-control. Can you really limit yourself to X number of drinks per day or per week? Can you stick to doing ST once or twice a week and avoid any longer term arrangements and adhere to your monthly budget? Can you walk away from a beautiful (but insane and/or manipulative) woman when logic dictates that this is the right thing to do?
It's easy for some to think they can, but fall short when these sort of temptations are offered to them.

Not sure why so many people have such horrible luck with Thai women. There are MANY fantastic women here who are faithful, true, open and very warm and loving. Sure I have seen and heard of the examples you expose on your show, so I know they are true stories. My point is that it is very easy to avoid, IMO. BOTH of my wives are wonderful women. For nearly 25 years I have had a wonderful life with them. There are ups and downs like any relationships but I think it is fairly easy to an aware man to know who is worth trying for a relationship....I am NOT rich by any means. They are clearly not in it for the money. Everyone hopes for a stable and financially secure life - western woman and Thai women. Gold diggers are not unique to Thailand. There are many not so right characteristics of this Thai culture. The main point I want to make is this: We are not compatible, Everything what a man tries to do, it will be a hard work. We will never ever change the nature of their character ingrained their brain. If you think you can be lucky find a good one, it is like winning a lottery, how many winners and how many losers. The only real option for us in Thailand is to have fun and nothing else. I did't listen to this advise and now I am in a relationship with a beautiful much much younger sex toy and she is having all the problems everyone are talking about. I know it will never last, and I am preparing myself to exit this in the least painful way...

Finding any partner shouldn't be based on race or looks but a common bond. Words of wisdom aside, Thai Chinese women are totally different but then it's a lot harder to bump into them and start dating them. I've been watching your channel for a while and I have formed an opinion even though I have never visited Thailand. I think if I did I would be more comfortable with a bar girl; you know right off the bat that they are NOT really in love with you and just want to make money. That's ok with me, as long as it's not too much, I don't want emotional attachments anyway. So you pay for what you get and you also can expect it to be good, you paid for it ! Is there another word for that; you betcha !!

Setting limits is key. I don't mind paying for food and drinks, of course, but it's going to be at everyday places, not a 5 star place where she orders the lobster and vintage wine. Had a girl once try to stamp her foot about going to a fancy expensive place. I just calmly said, sure we can go there but you're paying. Deal? She soon dropped the idea.

As an British person living in the far east for more than 3 years, it may be helpful to understand for example the Thai people and their reasoning. In the West and Europe, we take it for granted that the basis of all our cultures and laws are based on Judeo-Christian values. Not the Thai people are bad , but their reasoning and actions are based on Bhudist teachings to some. Some loosely adherent to Bhudist teachings. Please understand the difference.

I have to say its a strange way the parents operate with there children, I heard a story on a different page about one girl who works in a bar but rarely goes home because as soon as she does she is completely emptied of any money she has because her parents and brother completely clear her out ! The thing is they go on spending sprees and basically waste everything she has which in my opinion is pretty sad. There just doesnt seem to be a thought fuck the parents let them take care of themselves and how about getting your money and settin yourself up for the future, go get a education set yourself up but im guessing the cycle just keeps repeating itself

How true that is, not everyone - but too many times the girl of the family has to support the brothers and parents.

@Robert Searle very sad indeed , I can understand help and take care a bit of course but I can't really get my head around how the if the girl has a child her and her parents aren't trying to put money towards that childs future so they can finnally break the cycle and get them out of poverty but they just dont seem to think any into the future but im guessing thats all they no and dont really want to change 😐

Very much a live for today approach, handed down across the generations, isn't it. Breaking the mould seems almost impossible for them.

It is not only the women. I had long ago tried to make peace with the concrete understanding that in Thailand, you do in fact pay for kindness/"love". While it is common in the rest of the world, in LOS, it is the rule. Even in the market, if you buy some mangoes from a different seller and they see it, their blood will secretly boil. How dare you give your money to another? Yes, jealous over a few mangoes. You are a pet that pays it's owner, that is how you are viewed. This is problematic narcissism defined. In terms of "love", It simply does not exit in the delusional way westerners think it does, it is always 100% transactional by design.
The only comforting fact is they do it to their own family, friends and neighbors as well. You're only special and easier to pull the trigger on because deep down inside they know that you are sort of sub-human, you're not Thai.

I dont see the problem of trading the thing we have i.e money for company. But there is a price for everything and if it becomes too expensive either try and negotiate or find a different supplier.
