Another beautiful aspect of this interview is that Johnny surrounds himself with friends who continue to donate their hard-earned money to charity to help others. He donated the $1 million that Amber was forced to pay him directly to charities, including the one she promised to donate to, but never did. And here he is, with his band mates, still donating (not "pledging") even more money to people hit by devastation. Other than AH, he chooses people wisely to have in his circle. He's such a kind, gentle and compassionate soul.

Lovely interview. I understand what you say about Johnny singing, but that movie Sweenei Todd although a little bit scary, I did watch because asking Alexa for Johnny´s music, she played the songs on that movie, and I loved his voice and wondered why he doesn´t do Musicals. And let me tell you that the song "Stars", is my lullaby, when I go to sleep at nights, I ask Alexa to play it repeteadly for an hour until I go to sleep. I love Johnny´s voice so much and Jeff´s solo, that I can listen to it repeteadly till I fall asleep in awe.

Thanks for the interview yesterday for my birthday. I’ll be 87 on the 15th but it was a text. My young friend brought me a blanket with Johnny Depp’s pictures all over it and last week she had sent me a metal photo of him from Amazon in the mail. I never have paid him any mind or thought about him as I’m in love with a recording artist for 37 years we were together for 18 I met him when I was associated in the business in 1986.. I saw some of his trial and I kind of have a crush on him. I am let you call old Fox, but I’m losing that now as you get older, I was once a young fox. I have a Lotta memorabilia to leave to him that you cannot buy and it is like new that I have stayed that I have nobody to leave it to and I think he will appreciate it from the industry. also, maybe some movie business and I was offered a long time ago year and turn down. I will see if he wants to direct It depends how good he goes on his upcoming film. after being in the industry, it is not hard to get a hold of people that you want you smile

Great interview with the band. Johnny is shy in certain interviews. He does take his time but it's worth it. P.S. When the interviewer asked about Istanbul, I immediately thought of the brilliant film, "Midnight Express," based on a true story. It made such an impact on me, I still vividly remember many of the scenes. Hope things have changed over there.
I'm sure there is no country where justice works 100% (unfortunately), but be sure that the images you remember never happened then or today. The protagonist of the movie even apologized. Türkiye is always friendly to its guests, we are waiting for you 🥰🇹🇷

Hayes told reporters in Istanbul that he has been trying for years to correct these misperceptions in the media, but that his voice was drowned by the powerful images created by the film and its makers. Underlining that he had made friendships with many Turks, before and after he was incarcerated, he noted that the movie’s storyline did not depict even one such “good Turk.”
During his visit to Istanbul, Hayes also gave an interview to the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, where he issued apologies to Turks for all the problems the film created and reiterated that many brutal scenes of mistreatment depicted in the movie did in fact not happen. His remarks last week in Istanbul are not the first time that Hayes publicly regretted Midnight Express. In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, published on January 10, 2004, Hayes stated that “he feels awful that the film gave a brutal reputation to the entire nation of Turkey,” and that it also bothers him that it depicts all Turks as monsters.
