just purchased one of these new, on sale , at a shop, only $900 !! 2 yr warranty..
( they are moving them all out to get newer, next gen bikes in shop) , and this video ( and many others) was a great influence on my decision . I have ridden my Aventon pace 350 for 3 years now, 10,750 miles , and it was a great bike...but she is plain wore out....I took a test ride on this bike and literally everything is better then my older bike. I have 150 miles on it and it is rock solid, not a single problem. A great bike and I highly recommend them for any rider at any level. Thanks for the great vids!!

I just priced the Velotric Discover 2 at $1900, so it's not a budget bike. I looked at an Avendon Pace 500.3, costing $1900 assembled. In their August, 2023 issue, CR rated the Velotric Discover 1 the best budget bike they tested.
I think I'm gonna get this version for the cadence sensor for my 1 7 mile commute to work

Notice you seem to have your seat set lower than recommended. I would like to do this but I feel you don’t get optimal leg action when cycling. Are you aware of this and are you doing this for any reason. Thanks.
Right on, it is recommended to have your seat higher than how I ride. However, for me I personally have a longer torso than my leg length. So when I put my seat up higher I end up slumping forward and having poor posture which bothers me more than not being fully optimal for how I pedal. Also with an e-bike I have the assistance of the motor so I don’t need to rely on being perfectly positioned to pedal. So I value having better upper body posture and comfort and I don’t mind that I have more knee bend because my seat is lower.
I ride a normal bike in this way for years, its not the ideal but its possible

We purchased two Discover 1s on sale for $1,100. We love them. My wife’s commute is 500 to 1000 feet gain in elevation and the bike handles the hills no problem even with her laptop and other work items. The brakes work very well. The range is excellent . 40-60 miles.
Again, we love these bikes, but I do have some feedback for Velotrec. The bike would be better if they expanded the range of their sprockets. The highest gear is good for power level 4, but not quite so good for power level 5. You have to pedal extremely fast on power level 5 to avoid “ghost pedaling” (i.e. pedaling with no resistance)
Bottom line is that we are happy with our Discover 1s. Great bike for the money!
I think that is an issue with a lot of e bikes
