Thanks Anthony. Your'e a gem. To anyone considering buying Anthony's courses: You know what to do. You will be happy you did it. It's like a secret portal guys.
I'm a bit of a turtle when it comes to adopting these new features ;) I really appreciate your thorough instruction here. I understood the concept of polyphonic expression on new hardware like Hydrasynth, but never fully grasped editing the params in the piano roll. Now I get it, and I agree,..Huge potential. Thanks again
Really been loving the MPE features for pads over the last while - subtle pitch bending of notes or just sliding individual notes in chords to the next note in the chord before the change can create a whole different feeling to the sound. Really nice feature.
This is the BEST channel to learn Ableton!, I hope you can do a video about FX racks, I play guitar and I have seen some people using several instances of plugins linked to separate FX racks and switching them instantly with MIDI footswitches, I hope you can explain about that too, Thanks!
This is lifechanging.....how did I not notice this! Thank you so much I am very excited to play around with this lil diddy. I have a push but until this I've felt it frustrating to fine tune these slides/shifts. Love these vids
Awesome! I've tried to create similar effects by making a separate track for each note, but this is a heck of a lot better. I'm excited to play around with this process!
Hey, i did everything as you explained but even at 6:50 i cant get the note to bend. Can someone help me please? I googled basically everything around "note expression" and "MPE" "not working" but found nothing. I cant get my head around why this is not working for me. Im on Version 11.2.11 btw, so everything i checked so far it SHOULD work... But it doesnt. Oh and thanks for the Video of course...
that's awesome! i have an mpe kb, but this is just as fun and accurate to nail your sound down. only thing that they could add to make it more cool would be a note division on the matrix to speed up or slow the fx so you can cycle through different speeds to check out how they sound. ableton really knocked it out with 11.
VERY pertinent video , man ;) Thanks very much. This was the Main reason why I upgraded to 11. I've been postponing diving into it,....and this might do the trick, and help me out with that. Your videos are always cool.. You usually do them in a way that you show what CAN be done, the potential, AND.. not in a way that it is just too hard, to dense.....or too easy, in a "been there, done that" way, do u know what I mean ;) So thanks very much. Cheers from Portugal PS: one of these days I'll go into your paid content.. I feel that it is just a matter of time.
I like the way FL Studio does it, where you can color code your notes within a single clip, so that the red note slides to another red note, the green note slides to another green note, and so on. It seems a lot nicer to draw in than Ableton's automation line- which looks kind of messy if you have a lot of notes of a chord sliding. Plus its more visually expressive in that it tells you what note you're sliding to. Of course, you get a bit more expression in Ableton because you don't have to be on whole notes but decimals of semitones and so on. Can you explain what the values mean in the MPE Tab of the Wavetable? Like if Osc 1 Warp is on 10, does that mean that pressure information affects Warp up to 10%?
annyone else experiencing a bug with expression control on ableton 11? When i map a parameter (most of the time ''random'' to ''cutoff') everything works fine. After i close and reopen the project the cutoff will be close to zero and not reacting to the expression control. Always have to cut out the expression control effect and repaste it to make it work again.
it should be called monophonic expression (as it's affecting one note of a chord) rather than polyohonic expression (which would affect all - like regular expression).
Thanks Anthony. Your'e a gem.

Right click on the dot, and choose "Edit value" option, for precision. Also if you turn snapping on it should lock into semitones

Wow! Amazing features! Amazing explanation! Count me in soon for the sound design course!!!
Dude your videos are a godsend. I get so much inspiration from watching.
Love this so much! The possibilities are mind blowing!!!!

Got the push 2 and now for some reason the note expression doesnt work for slides anymore any idea why?
I learn so much with every video, thank you for your hard work!
wow... thanks, this is great!

This is outstanding, thanks for the content, this earned a sub!
Your videos are GAWD status 👊🏼

im the same ... did you get this to work?
I don't even use Ableton but still end up watching all of these videos

what the hell.... that's.. nutty well done man on presenting good knowledge
This is very cool.
Do you know how note expression works with plugins? I know Phaseplant supports MPE, but it doesn't react to note expression at all
I have to map portamento on mpe but it isn’t the same as note expression

How can Use note expression to create modulation with bass lines, using 3rd party plugs?
Goodness !
Doesn't st stand for semitone? At least that's what I always thought.
