My dad was John Hinckley's lawyer in 81, and when we went to see this production and he saw Alexander Gemignani sand 'Unworthy of your love' he nudged me and said, "My God, they nailed him."
William Craig but considering he stalked someone and attempted a presidential Assassination it’s pretty light. The mental institution was probably in his best interest imo bc he was clearly mentally unwell
its a shame they let mamma mia run for a decade but a truly artistic and thought provoking piece of theatre such as this only runs a few months on broadway
My husband played Zangara in our community theatre's production. He hated hitting the high notes. But i LOVED listening to him practice screaming in Italian.
+madgrinchhatter No, but you can see them at the library branch that's part of Lincoln Center. Theoretically, you need a "good reason," like you're doing academic work on it, or writing an article, or preparing your own production.
there is a very low quality bootleg available on line, but the audio is borderline too bad to watch... their is one with subtitles though so at least you can understand it all
@@evilproductionstudios9659 I presume they meant before the reveal. OP, the answer is a flannel shirt. Search for "nph Assassins" on Google and you'll find some stills.
White T-shirt and jeans for Lee, a red and white unbuttoned flannel shirt layered over the top for the Balladeer, and then during the ballad of booth he has an extra layer, a brown jacket/coat
I would absolutely love to see this. Does anyone know if there is any sort of recorded, available for purchase version of this musical? These clips are very high quality, so I would like to believe that there is a way for me to see this amazing musical, still.
@@michaela_corinnethey’re all at the new york public library, you can view them with a library card in a locked room with rare copyrighted physical VHS copies, they’ll watch you though and you might have to get creative and say it’s for “research purposes”

That’s so cool!
Yeah, he got away with a pretty light sentence tbh so gg to your dad

I NEED EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT DUDE IS MAKING MUSIC COVER VIDEOS ON UA-cam NOW AND IT IS UNCANNY AF

lesmizfanatic90 blame tourists.
okay, don’t knock mamma mia
Probably because people only take it at face value. They don't get subtext.
I think there's also a limit to ticket sales when it's a show you don't want to take your kids to.

Okay, I wish some grade school would release this as their school play this year.
Sammmmeee
I wish, they just need to cut out all the swear words, which is like half the musical 😂
@@Nathan-cr1mj Nah, they really don't.
Cintia 😂
grade school?
This is great. I've been looking for footage of this revival forever. I'd have liked to have seen more NPH, but I'll take it.
I just got cast as Sara Jane Moore. I'm so excited!!
Oh, I wish they would release this on DVD. I wonder if they shot the whole thing?
+rabbitfishtv i believe most shows are shot, but the footage is usually kept in New York libraries unfortunately

We get almost 2 minutes of fromme and moore just talking but we couldnt get a few more seconds each for Booth and Zangara to finish their songs?!?
madgrinchhatter Zangara is by far my favorite.
@@AngelCintiaRockgirl Sameee.
yea ik, was disappointed too
it's a shame you didn't include any photage of the ballader, I really wanted to know how they dressed him in this production...
It was a white t-shirt and jeans.

Thank you so much for posting this!! I never got to see it, but I wish I did!!
I never realized that's the mom from Freaks and Geeks!!
Everybody's Got The Right especially sounds like Into the Woods (the opening)!
(Don't troll me, IK ITW is also composed by Sondheim)
And in Another National Anthem, when they're singing "Where's my prize?", it sounds a lot like ITW's Last Midnight!
I thought so too, except the refrain, which is more like that from 'agony', also from into the woods.
@@andrewdevine3920 And "Something Just Broke"(by the singing of the line itself) has the same melody refrain from Passion.
I wish they would have more dialogue with Czolgosz? Idk he’s just my favorite 😅
God I wish I could see the whole performances especially since it doesnt seem like it will ever get back to broadway
aw, neil patrick harris!!!
No dislikes on this video! I congratulate you.
is there a dvd of the show somewhere? When was this filmed to make the clips!?!?? I WANT!

Theres a bootleg, its not great quality but it passes and it has subtitles if u just search up Assassins Musical in the youtube search bar
does this imply there is a full recording of this musical, professionally shot? how much do i have to pay to see it???
exactly what I’m wondering
