    Fantastic video, Cliff! Would love to paddle that area someday! Headed out to Cochiti Lake here in NM for probably the last paddle of the season this weekend with my 393 rl. I’m going to try out my Bixpy on it and see how it works! Again, beautiful shots on this one! Thanks for sharing!

      Thank you so much Steve! I've never paddled in NM, I hope to someday, especially since it's a next door neighbor to my home state of Texas! Safe adventuring out there!

    Super video Cliff! Thanks for sharing! I used to run loads down to Elizabethtown before I retired so know the area fairly well but never got to see the amazing lakes. There were too many "No Trucks Allowed" signs! LOL! Back here the guys were pulling out 30 lb salmon and lake trout while I slaved to close down our trailer for the season! I would rather have been fishing! Have a wonderful winter season. I'll be watching for your upcoming adventures. Warmest regards!🛶😄

    Man, Canada Geese are so skittish down South, up here they'd have made it clear YOU need to clear off.
    If you like terrain like that and you're ever up in the Toronto area in late spring/early summer, you might be interested in part of Bronte Creek. The park named after it has campgrounds too.

    Excellent video, brother! Glad you tested the Bixpy motor on the FastTrack 385. I have the 385 and use a trolling motor and absolutely love it. That boat just cuts through the water like butter with that motor. I am definitely going to get one and replace my trolling motor. I really enjoy watching your videos! Keep up the awesome work! Happy kayaking!

      Thank you so much for watching and commenting dragonslayer5838! So you use the Sea Eagle side motor mount for mounting your trolling motor
      to the FastTrack? If you have not done so, get a Lithium 100Ah trolling motor battery. I did, you go from 65lbs. down to 27lbs. They are expensive,
      but really nice! Have a great weekend!

    Thanks for another inspiring video! Would love to check it out! Have you tried the Bixpy on most of the Sea Eagle boats? Would be fun to see the Bixpy in one video and switching the Bixpy between them all! I have the 385 Fasttrack and the 437 Paddleski. Keep thinking about getting the Razorlite 393, not sure if it would make sense. Keep up the great work!

      Hi there, Gil - thank you so much for watching, and commenting! Yes, I have tried the Bixpy on the Razorlight, the fast track, and the Explorer. I have videos of each. It is a game changer for just being able to paddle farther, while still exerting the same amount of effort you normally would on a paddle. Take care and safe adventuring!

    I know you can get a solar panel for the motor but I’m wondering if a small power station would be a good option for long trips. 1000wh power stations go for about $300 to $500 and weigh less than 20lbs.

    • @KayakCliff
      @KayakCliff  7 місяців тому +1

      I find that 100 amp hour lithium deep cycle battery works best. Gives you all the power that you need to go just about as far as you want. I don't think the small power station will give you enough long-term power.

    What seat is that in the RazorLite? Looks comfortable and will that work in the Fasttrack?

    • @KayakCliff
      @KayakCliff  9 місяців тому +1

      Hi there 👋 - both the FastTrack and the RazorLite in this video have the standard black high back seats that come with the boat from Sea Eagle. I really do Love these high back seats with the back support they give! On the FastTrack, I was using the 5'' inflatable seat cushion that Sea Eagle sells separately, which works great. Fully inflated to the 5'' height in the RazorLite would most likely be a little tippy, however, I'm going to try it in a Razorlite slightly deflated, to see how it works. I'll report back to everyone on another video! Take care and safe adventuring!

      I do travel to the west coast some, while traveling for my full time job. I need to pack some sea eagle’s on the plane for one of my trips for sure.
      Do you live out west, is so where? Any places you recommend as must paddle locations?

    6:20 You state the fasttrack is un paddle able without the skeg in the back? COuld you elaborate on that? I was looking to get my first kayak after renting many times. I was leaning towards the fast track as here in Kentucky there is alot of rivers and creeks. Occasionally you have to get out and I am a bit bigger of a guy at 6'2" 290lb. And was looking at one of these sea eagles as it basically answers most of my issues. But would you not recommend the fasttrack for river and shallower creeks and stuff?

    • @KayakCliff
      @KayakCliff  5 місяців тому +1

      Hi 👋 There - Thanks for watching and commenting!! These Sea Eagle kayaks are very durable and there is no problem at all kayaking with
      your doggies nails impacting the kayaks surface. In fact, Sea Eagle has a cool video where they demonstrate the durability by driving over one
      with a Jeep as well as tossing a cinder block inside and hitting with the claw of a hammer. Here is a link for that video ua-cam.com/video/ardGNdwZ0aQ/v-deo.htmlsi=Oo8a7hL1zHZEPwGE
      I would recommend the Explorer kayak for you. The FastTrack needs both the front inflatable keep and the plastic keel in the stern working together
      for the kayak to track properly. Also at 6’2’’ and 290 + a dog you would probably like the Explorer more. If you are doing rivers with a lot of
      dragging, you can remove the skeg on the explorer and still be able to paddle, with a lot of maneuverability for river running. Here is my review
      of the Explorer:

      I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions! Cliff

    Questions about the Bixpy Cliff. How does the FastTrack handle while the motor is off? Does the Bixpy serve as a skag and does it add any noticeable resistance when not under power? Thanks!

    • @KayakCliff
      @KayakCliff  9 місяців тому

      Hi 👋 Tim - The FastTrack is definitely paddleable (I don’t think that is a word, but you get the idea) with the Bixpy installed and turned off. You have some more drag due to the width of the motor assembly, but the kayak seems to track well. I didn’t notice any huge difference when I was paddling
      with the motor off, but like I said, there has to be a little more drag involved. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Hey Cliff, enjoy your vids... ur helping me decide on which direction to go re purchasing. Question: Have you fitted the Bixpy K-1 to any of ur kayaks? Bixpy told me that it would be plug n play, but Sea Eagle just doesn't offer in their pkgs. If it's 20% more powerful, and shorter and lighter than the J-2, it seems a better option... your thoughts?

    • @KayakCliff
      @KayakCliff  9 місяців тому

      Hi 👋 Brad - I have not used the K-1, but it will definitely fit with the right skeg mount adapters, just like the J-2 does. The K-1 just came out this
      year and Sea Eagle will eventually be offering that model. I have heard it is lighter and quieter, haven’t heard it is more powerful. I think it has the
      same power as the J-2, but not totally sure. If / when you purchase from Bixpy, just make sure you tell them you want it outfitted for skeg mount
      assembly.
