The intonation of the ladies around 0:11-:013 is just incredible. I mean, it's all incredible but you can hear overtones and their dynamics match absolutely perfectly. And that last chord sounds like an organ. What a joy it must be to sing in a group like this, I couldn't even imagine. Bravo as always!
@@RenaissanceEarCandy Muslims, Jews and Christians have the same God. So why fight? This is the question that is very simple, but still we have no answer on it.
Bravi! I had the pleasure of hearing VOCES8 in Chicago a few weeks ago, and was awed by their pure brightness. If you have the chance to hear them perform, for goodness sake, go!
Was finally able to attend a VOCES8 performance in person (The Plains, VA, USA). Absolutely incredible even with the occasional passing train interrupting the performance. 😂 I read a post once where someone said they can't possibly sound that good without it being enhanced. Yes, they can and do. Amazing!
I was at that performance also. I thought the train coming through intermittently added a unique touch to the performance that night. Voces8 is absolutely hands-down, most wonderful vocal group I’ve ever heard in person or on video. 🎉❤
@@molliethorn The small venue of the church and allowing everyone to meet them all afterwards made it that much better. And at least the trains were well-timed rather than in the middle of the songs. Hope to see them in London someday. 🙂👍🏻
I saw them in Connecticut and they were amazing, but the acoustics of the venue just weren’t good enough - all those glorious overtones were swallowed up 😢 Hopefully I can see them again in a smaller more resonant venue.
apparently they DO choose to get their venues next to the railways…😂 that train-passing-by-thing seems to happen quite to many if us attending their live perfomances… I have witnessed them keeping up spendidly against a metro line every seven minutes or so… they even started to make fun of it very graciously 😅
we saw them at Chautauqua (NY) during the summer of 2022 - exceptional and incredibly gracious as well. We traveled from Maine to see them, and it was worth every mile!
First music I listened to while still in bed this morning. It was like having a row of the most beautiful songbirds serenading me on my bedroom window perch. Heavenly! ❤🎵🕊
Thanks so much for doing music by Henry Purcell, England's greatest composer! ❤️ 🏴🎼🎶👨🏻🎤🇬🇧 "Here lyse Henry Purcell Esq., who left this life and is gone to that Blessed Place where only HIS harmony can be exceeded."
This was truly incredible. I particularly loved how each unique voice was allowed to flow in and out and then blend perfectly when required! Not an easy thing to do at all!
Difference between Martin & Purcell is fantastic. We see & hear what happens when people sings in equal image. Very nice job, guys! I saw new Soprano 2? She has an amazing voice!
Superlatives long gone, except to say a huge wow to Molly's soprano. Where words fail, there is music! Edit - comment, not criticism. I hear a flattened note @2:51. A check of Purcell's score shows an Fnat for the Alto, against an f# for the second Soprano, over the syllable 'pa' of pa-la-ces. Did I hear and read right?
Just beautiful, i heard them for the first time this morning on the radio, a piece called winter by Rebecca Dale, i think? Anyway, it was such a beautiful sound.
I am glad for Voces8 that’s for sure
O pray for the peace of Jerusalem ...and all over the world!
Amen
Glorious...a perfect prayer for peace for our now times.

Purcell died in 1695, but here we are in 2023 and these words are still true -
“O pray for the peace of Jerusalem”
And Gaza

Well King David the author of this psalm 122 died 3000 years ago now.
Such timing, harmony and presentation, wonderful performance warmed up a cold start to the day. 😊
Glorious and stunning ! Thank you so much for bringing so much joy and happiness into this world.

Same
The great Henry Purcell, presented majestically by VOCES8.
Thank you! All praise be to God! 🙏🏼
What an amazing piece of music! I didn't know it. And naturally, beautifully performed
I love you guys. You make my day and night as I fall asleep.

William Byrd wasn't bad either.
That final chord is wonderful!
Great singing. Great music. Not the words, just the music.
Die Worte sind römisch-katholischer BS, aber die Musik ist himmlisch.
That's what I mean. @@EGM777
Very beautiful. I like it so much, if you also show every single singer to get an idea of the individual voice!
Il n'y a pas de mots pour exprimer cette magnificence.....Merci à vous Voces 8♥♥🕊🕊🌹🌹
That last chord--yowza. Bravo.
Спасибо вам от всего сердца за прекрасное пение, вы молодцы
Thank You Voces8, For This Beautiful Gift Of Purcell's Music 💙

It seems my soul is wandering in shining Tokyo full of Christmas atmosphere and colorful illuminations

Glorious.....thank you...God bless you all➕🌹➕🕊❣
Parry's "I was Glad" is still the best. I hope you will do a video of it.
Wonderful. Thank you.
Wow! Simply amazing! ❤❤
The overtones, especially in the last chord, are absolutely ludicrous. Bravo all!!
❤Thank You VOCES8😊
Me🇩🇪too, pray for the peace of jerusalem🧚♀️
Also for Ucraine
And the billion of brainwashed people of 🇨🇳 🇷🇺 🇺🇸
Thank You! Beautifully sung and the words soar!
2:08 "Peace" Pitch perfect! ❤
I'm in Nice tonight to see you live. I waited for this for 8 years. I heard you train your voice in the cathedral. I'm in love. Thank you all

P E A C E !!! AMEN
Voces8 are voices of beauty and very soothing to the psych.
Priceless.
Saw them in Dallas. No microphones. Perfect balance. Such beautiful vocal sounds! I continue to be astounded by their ability. Thanks
A beautiful performance 👏🏻❤️
Ô Molly quelle belle voix !
This took me somewhere I've never been before
Relevant to today's world
Orpheus Brittanicus indeed!
Nicely sung Voces8. 🎉
Thank you 🙏
Zu schön, um passende Worte zu finden.
Not familiar with the piece, but love the beauty of the voices.
Fabulous, as always! 🤩
Perfection.
Magnifique 🎉
Awesome!😊
❤ Voces 8, what else.....
I have run out of superlatives to describe this group's performances.
Wow, thanks again, guys. I'm in bits, again... Are you coming to NZ anytime soon?
I love you

While Andrea and the new guy smirk at one another with nothing to do for many, many measures.
❤🙏🇵🇱
Do we all realize this is a rendition of Psalm 122 ?
Silly question: is it possible to sing this well?
Meanwhile in the real world

Beautiful as always. 👏🏻👏🏻uhm, seems Jonathan Pacey is missing? 🥲
