The x factor for him and something to consider is that he's never played with talent. You drop him in with Laffy, Zib, Panarin, Trocheck...etc then you may see Zegras put up massive point totals. Still too risky for me though.

I don’t even think you guys would need to include Laffreniere(?). For myself, since I don’t speak for the entire Ducks fanbase, Zegras has made himself expendable. We have Carlsson, McTavish and posisbly Cayden Lindstrom down the middle. While I don’t hate Zegras, I do think he is overrated in the aspect you mentioned. He doesn’t suck by any means, but this fanbase really overhypes him. Everything you said about him sounds like something Verbeek is probably telling himself about him. Verbeek has spoken a lot about needing size and leadership on the right D. A trade for Trouba has Pat Verbeek written all over it. I just through in Kakko as a sweetener for taking all of Troubas contract. Not comparing him to Pronger as a player, but it would be like trading for Pronger again. What he brought to the team.

Trouba 8 mil cap hit for two years but is only owed 6 mil per year… and Trouba and his wife might be willing to move to LA. We’ll all know soon enough. Bread is only under contract for two more years at 11.6 cap hit.
I'm interested, but how much do we give up and how much will he cost, we do need offense on the 3rd line and a player who can move up to the top six when needed. Bread/Trocheck/Laffy are the top line we need a physical 2nd line RW, who can SHOOT the puck!

I get what your saying but it doesn't address what we need. We have a solid squad. Idk whats the perfect piece except for Brady T which is not happening but something like him. He will be a great pick up i wouldn't mind it but once again its not addressing what the team needs. Im even cool with getting Tom Wilson or someone like that.

I also saw(on TV) him play in the World Juniors, BU, then with the Ducks. I’m telling you, he would flop in NY. He’s just not that good.

I like Zegras. Multiple 60 point seasons at a young age on a terrible team. Seems like they like Kakko and they tried to get him last season but I would never EVER move Laf for him. Wouldnt be a bad edition for the 3rd line during this cup window and add depth scoring while also being able to fit the future with laf and perrault

First off these are only rumors and 90% of them or more are B.S. I'm 50/50 on this but it sure would be a lot better to get a 23 year old player instead of what we normally do. Which is signing a 29-30 year old free agent to 7 years and almost half of the years the guy will be on the down side of his career. What's also amazing is how some fans want to give up 4th line players and low draft picks for good-great players! YOU PEOPLE HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME! Would you take that id Zegras was on your team and you were trading him, NO WAY would you do that, so PLEASE stop with trying to get great players for pennies on the dollar.

I believe he’s underrated in the sense that his critics see his highlight reel goals and conclude that’s all Z can do, all while ignoring his puck handling, vision and playmaking skills that’ve built him a productive NHL career up to this point.
