What's funny is that last season the Sharks had 5 ex Wild players (Kahk, Granlund, kunin, Addison, Sturm). The '24 season is gonna be all Red Wings and I'm all happy to see how that plays out. We're basically collecting players, one franchise at a time.
we needed all those wilds and red wings losers to compete with blackhawks for the worst record. they all stinks and da plan work to perfection. Celebrini, baby!
I'll be honest. Before we acquired Ullmark, I was hoping the Sens could acquire Gibson. I still think he's a really good goalie stuck on a bad team. His contract however sucks, and Anaheim not wanting to retain money makes it almost impossible for the Ducks to get a decent return.
We are clearly regressing since & because of Yzerman! Its such a shame that we think we have to put up with these results for a longer amount of time because of the insane idea that it will be bad manors if we didn't put up with his horrible decisions over & over & over again all for the soul reason he was successful in his playing days for this franchise so now we somehow owe him opportunity after opportunity setting this team back with his weird, & flaky horrible free agency signings that should be obvious to any that watches hockey even only a lil bit not to give copp that contract and signing chariot giving him anything over a dollar is horrible & negligent! Omg i can go on & on & on The move that burned me up more than anything is how he did Walman! What a cocky selfish move! Im sorry a player like Walman who was/is a fan favorite is nonsensical! I don't really give a f if he was a show-man that rubbed some old skool players the wrong way! He alone was worth the price of admission but no Stuck up Stevie cuts him loose for basically a pack of gum! All for the wrong reasons! Horrible! So i guess we'll continue to be in the worst position in hockey... too bad to make the playoffs & too good never bad enough to get a top 5 player in the draft! Wake up wings fam!
It’s far more indicative that something was sour between the team and Walman. Two years in a row he was scratched at the deadline; and he became expendable with Edvinsson taking his minutes.
I have a scenario that would make the Walman situation make sense. Here we go: The Wings waive Justin Holl for the purpose of a buyout, and San Jose claims him. If that happens, the whole Walman trade makes sense. I mean, Yzerman didn't even try to waive Walman first. I have to think Jake wouldn't have cleared waivers. If he did, then okay.. maybe we as fans just overvalued him. Idk.. if we waive Holl and San Jose grabs him, it makes sense.
I hear you but either way it’s a stupid decision. Hypothetically if they did agree to that “future considerations” and agreed on Holl being claimed by them, Yzerman is hinging on trust via verbal agreement and promises only seeing as it’s not written. That would be incredibly reckless on Yzerman. To get rid of Holl you’re talking 2nd and 3rd rounder or low 1st. What a horrendous signing. He did it to himself.
I think Petry and Holl were not moved for a couple of reasons, first I don't think anyone wanted them and they are trying to clear room on the LD. Chiarot deal would require you to move a first to move on from that contract and he was actually serviceable last year. Matta is a good third pair D-man that can also sit if they don't have room for him. I was one of the minority which was frustrated with Jake's play last year, he didn't work hard in the corners and he often had to use his speed and a diving play just to try and save breakaway's because he was often out of position or misread the play. Simon and Albert will be much better defensively than Walman and Ghost. Just my opinion.`
Your opinion is 100% correct. There's a reason he was scratched so much. I saw the many flaws in his game at the end of the season. Holl and Petry are both trash and would probably clear waivers lol. People are frustrated we didn't put Walman on waivers, but if you think about it, the end result is the exact same whether a team got him off waivers of we gave him away. I didn't like sending the 2nd rounder, but he probably had to do that for someone to take him. It sucks because he was our 2nd best D-man, which proves how awful our D still is. Need Edvinsson, Albert, and hopefully Pellika sooner than later!!
Just FYI, the Sharks are already retaining on 3 contracts from prior trades for at least 1 more year (Brent Burns to Carolina, Erik Karlson to Pittsburgh, and Tomas Hertl to Vegas). They cannot retain on a contract until the Burns contract expires.
We need another legit top 6 center. I could see us clearing space for stamkos. Better than point a game, plays center, 40 goal scorer, works the PP. We have a hard time once larkin goes down. A second center who puts up points is what we need and yzerman has a history with him.
@GrindLinePod but he has, successfully. More than any other UFA. Unless they plan on swinging for the fences on Draisaitl, there's no real options available but that was the biggest culprit of our losing streaks
We need to lock down our D core first. That's always the glaringly obvious hole year over year. Too many games were blown due to our awful D. Edvinsson comes up, but that's still not enough. Hopefully Pellika shocks everyone and makes the squad!
I don’t get why “can’t play on the top pair” suddenly equals “contract dump candidate”? So he’s having trouble with the toughest deployment in the cap era? Why not move him down the lineup? There were better contract dump candidates so it still doesn’t make sense to me.
This has gotta be for the #1 pick tomorrow. the pick they never got. We have a ton off assetts and future round 1 picks. Sharks aren't ready 4 Celebrini. We are. we have an overage in good youth. It could work well 4 san jose. San Jose could grab 2 1st rounders for the next 3 yrs.
I wouldn't give 3 first round picks to get this years first. Celebrini is good, he's not generational. I also don't think there is any world where they trade the 1st.
Sieder, Larkin contract, Raymond, D-cat trade, Edvidson etc. but yes some decissions are questionable mostly driven by the need to roster an NHL team and the free agent market is not the place to find value.
Logically speaking? No. Johansson does not have to be on the roster next season. We, as fans, might want him on the roster because we don't want to lose him to waivers, but he doesn't have to be on the roster. As for Gibson? No. I'll pass.
I mean he kind of does unless you want to trade him because he would absolutely be picked up for free He's also a stay at home dman that the Wings need at this point.
It's interesting now that SJS have Klim Kostin, Givani Smith, Filip Zadina and Jake Walman; its too bad they didn't take Holl too.
All Wings in time

Imagine if Jesse K becomes an elite star in the NHL. How funny that would be.

Yep, saw that once we wrapped.

Stammer hasn't played center for a while now.

Danielson will be #2 center

I actually wouldn’t shocked if they went after Gibson…
Roster spot. Yes, all they could have got. Kane re-signing

@@GrindLinePod Just tryin to make good on a bad situation😁What's up? Why?! We are small. We don't understand!🤪🤔🤯
There is basically zero chance that happens lmao
@@TylrVncnt But maybe!🤪🤣 "Can i get a #1 pick I'll blw u behind the rest stop"
Gibson=Reimer.
The future considerations from SJ will be the #1 overall pick this year😅
Wing want to in playoff
Wings got best player from sharks
Gostisbehere has to go too; he can't play D.
move him to the wing 😂
I love the offense ghost brings and hope he stays
@@Joe-t3r9uat -16 I hope not, the Wings give up way too many goals.
Nobody knows much of anything!
I don’t have much confidence in the “Yzerplan”. Too many misses lately. Kane was the only thing I loved.

That statement is the opposite of logically speaking.
Great comment. (Not) Logically speaking Mo Seider does not have to be on the roster this year (So what!!)
