Same. I think because in the moment it feels like the album is slowing down by what is basically a straight forward love song, but then the more i listen, the more charming I find it. Like the lyrics and the melody of the chorus really are so sweet and earnest!

The breaking point in album is tunnel vision and it just takes sooo many turns in lyricism and lore, cry for me and ballad of matt & mica will blow his socks off not to mention image and the 22 minute countdown 🤩
The opening and closing of a record can be important, and Imaginal Disk has an incredible opening and closing! I think even the few middle tracks I wasn't crazy about will grow on me, and possibly overshadow the obvious hits on the front and back end.

I'm with skrrt_vonnegut regarding the high frequencies in vampire. When I first heard the song I thought my hearing was going or something. It was so high, it sounded like the ringing you get after a concert when you're losing a bit of your hearing range. And its pushed back in the mix so you don't notice it at first, and then suddenly you do, and it's this "oh god, what is that??" experience. Very odd choice. I give them credit for experimenting with the production, but I guess there's a reason people don't typically include frequencies that high in their mixes. Its kind of jarring and annoying lol.
