I tend to hear opera as a bit of vocal peacockery since it comes out of a European tradition where the bella prima donna singing this type of aria would've been the A-list celebrity of their era. They wanted to put their own stamp on the piece, show off a bit, and make a name for themselves. Technically, the opera is often significantly harder to sing, and I appreciate that, even if I don't necessary like hearing it as much as something simpler and more pure.

I am extremely emotionless person, nearly robotic. But an emotional response has come very close several times while listening to Lauren Paley's songs. It is almost there in several of her songs. Perhaps I have had emotional responses. It simply had been so long since my last emotional response to anything that I may have forgotten what an emotional response feels like.
This might sound a little strange, but find yourself an empty concrete farm silo with an open top... These are mostly unused silos, but because they were built so tough, they're hard to bring down... so farmers just leave them up. The acoustics inside one of those is amazing enough to bring tears to your eyes.
I use my stairwell a lot where I live and to stumble into this would be beautiful. Lovely voice and giving it to God is sweet. Honor to our Lady and Star of the Sea, Mother Mary.
I don't know if you live in a condo/apartment complex or what. All I know is that I would die to live there and every single time I heard your voice I would just go sit in the stairwell and cry while you sing. You are magical.

I remember back in the late 70s with the little bit of guitar playing I knew then, playing in the rather large 5 stories stairwell of a department store in Rotterdam. The sound was perfect with my colleague backing up my singing. It became so much fun that we got requests for specific songs and, Mull of Kintyre was a hit in those days.
This was my mothers favorite song. She passed away in March of 2008. As you were singing I looked down at the date you released this. It was her birthday. Thank you. It answered a troubling question for me.

I remember back in the late 70s with the little bit of guitar playing I knew then, playing in the rather large 5 stories stairwell of a department store in Rotterdam. The sound was perfect with my colleague backing up my singing. It became so much fun that we got requests for specific songs and, Mull of Kintyre was a hit in those days.
