    You can't go wrong with either engine, but the Tillotson does give you more customization options at a better price point. What did you all think of this format?

      Sometimes towards the gap there is a beveled edge (top) or a dot (top) or writing (top) if there is nothing at all it doesn't matter .....99% of the time...

      I paid $250 for my ghost engine and $120 for the kit witch you don't have to buy. You can still get a ton more power out of the ghost and put any pipe you want on it. The excuse you made over and over on the video about why your favorite engine (tillotson) is way cheaper and if it didn't have this problem or that problem makes it a better engine is not true at all. Harbor freight has 20% off cupons all the time. I have to call bull shit . The ghost is the better value at the same price and still smokes the Tillotson. I love the videos tho.

      Loved it.. I wondered through how much tire pressure would change the outcome with all the sliding on the ghost?

    That was fun to watch and I would like to see how big of a difference new tires makes on your Phantom Cart , Also how cool would it be for Cars and Cameras to sponsor a race day at the track and picnic for fans and families to meet you and get excited about Go Carts and maybe a minibike day ? You guys are growing the Sport and showing how to get it done and I thank you

    Charles was in complete controll of that cart he was so smooth with his steering tracking he literally drifter the whole corner like he was driving straight lol Johns tracking was twitchy at first untill he got the hang of it but both great drivers dude they have came so far on so many driving platforms John didn't grow up in the power sports game like most did he got his first go cart at like 18 I'd say so most of us grew up and got our experience over time John is right there with the rest of us in 7 years go John 🤘🤘

    Great video as always guys! I especially liked Charles' controlled slide coming through the last turn at 12:53 where he keeps his foot planted and the wheel never comes off center on through to the straight. Nice driving!

    Great vid. Cool to see the comparison. The coil governed rev limit seems a good way to limit the engine revs. Easy to switch out vs the nuisance of removing the traditional governor from inside an engine.

  • @TylerDuysen
    @TylerDuysen 2 роки тому +2

    so power wise ghost 212 performed better than the stage 1 tillotson so if you put a bigger carb and degoverned coil on the ghost itd be really quick the ghost just came out so of course it more expensive give it time and itll probably be cheaper than the tillotson both are good engines

    Them Karts are suspension set up for circle track ovals not right turns that's why it goes nuts to the right look at the front spindle on both fronts you will see is lower for more bite on left turns. Although it can be altered for road course yours would perform and make better times. I do have two race Karts and some knowledge thank you

    My guess with the ghost is after putting the no limiter coil on is you ran out of carburetor so the 22mm carb probably would have kept the power going after the 6500rpm. And also it probably started leaking because it didnt have the capacity for the extra rpms

    • @GVO1
      @GVO1 2 роки тому +2

      That is what I realized to, it may need a bigger carb that carb can't take that power ,or if it has a drain bolt it wasn't sealed properly.

    With the gov delete on the ghost I have a tiktok video about it on my cart ,under the same username if you are interested, but in order to get it to run right you need to put a utility/stock or billet flywheel on it on. The ghost flywheel says 57° and the flywheel from the original 212 has no offset. You can use an 8° offset key for optimal performance and it’s just like an ungoverned 212!

    You don't have to buy the $150 accessories pack. You can buy the go power sports stuff and put on it. I don't think you really addressed that in the videos. $10 air filter and a $30 exhaust pipe. It already comes with a better carb and better engine parts. $300 for the ghost engine vs $240 for the tillotson engine. The price difference is even smaller if you can pick up the ghost engine in the store vs paying $30 shipping.

    • @Icantball67
      @Icantball67 2 роки тому

      Ghost engine also doesn’t come with a fuel tank. Add these to the ghost, and your still 100 more than the tilly. Take that 100 to upgrade the till slightly and and your even if not ahead. Plus the access kit for the ghost comes with a pulse pump which wasn’t mentioned if it was installed so that alone on the tilly may even it up.

    That leaking out of the carburetor is due to some junk in the needle float valve, it won’t let it seat all the way because something is in the way leading to the gas leaking around it. This happened to me on my mikuni after it was brand new and it took me a while to figure it out.

      Seems like there should only be a 50 dollar difference because if you didn't buy the goast kit and just used the same parts you used with the Tillotson. Not trying to be pro goast anti Tillotson just asking questions. Or you could have used the giast kit on the Tillotson but what carb came with the Tillotson?

    I'd try to find ones with Bigger gears than what's on your racing go karts though by one to two sizes if you're go kat has the clearance space for them is another key factor in the matter of getting more speed.& Be able to use A bigger rear axle shaft gears on those go karts. Good luck guy's.

    Those price numbers are bs.
    Ghost motor:
    *engine $300 (I paid 225 with a 25% coupon).
    *air filter $10
    *exhaust from go power sports $60
    * gas tank $25
    Total: $395 (after coupon $320)
    Tillotson 212:
    *engine $257 after shipping
    *stage 1 with carb $150
    *exhaust $60
    Total: $467
    The ghost is an absolute way better deal! Not to mention you won’t have to remove a governor or deal with that at all or that the predator has more aggressive internals stock than the Tillotson. I’m a huge fan of you guys, but this video is straight bad facts 🤦‍♂️

      @@Nick-tt7ui Hey Nick, we would find any plastic or metal that was funnel shaped. first make a small hole in the bottom of the tank and jb weld and or screw the funnel shape or cup to the bottom of the tank. we then would thread or epoxy the petcock to the bottom of the depression funnel piece. block off the original petcock. We used part of an old gas can, the plactic spout part one time. the fuel will always be in the funnel unless you are shiny side down. I had a buddy that heated up a plastic tank and melted a depression in the middle bottom of the tank. he heated the tank and a blunt pipe he also heated. He pressed slowly through the tank cap opening and it left a depression in the bottom for fuel to pool

    I think you will find that they make equal horse power but the reason the predator did not like the higher revs was due to the cast iron flywheel. The Tillotson has a much lighter flywheel which equates to much better performance at high rev but also equates to much lower torque specs. Had you not had the carberation issues with the Tillotson engine and been able to run it flawlessly in the higher revs your times would have been vastly better with it. The lighter flywheel would allow you to maintain higher speed which would have offset the lack of torque at the bottom required to get it moving which is where the Ghost made up for its lack of topend.
    I think that if you were to get the Till running at 100% and revisit this comparison you might find the lap time results to be very different. I also think that if you were to put a lighter flywheel on the Ghost it would respond at higher revs better and would probably surpass the Till engine even at 100%, but I could be wrong. Great stuff though.
