The man returned with a gun and killed the local who had the card.
this reminded me when i mistakenly @doom the map while woe when i was a gm on a server my friend made. i didnt know what the command was before. and it killed everybody. needless to say a lot of people were pissed and it made people think i did it on purpose so that a certain guild would take advantage of everybody dying. i still cringe about it till now. seeing this reminded me of it. like exploding gtbs everybody died lol. im really sorry guys wherever you are

Every official has it set up like that and most of the private servers. And that is before any modifiers like bubble gum, just the raw "1x" server droprates not actually being quite 1x. With 1 in 5000.5 chance to drop a card you can calculate a 50% chance to get card drop, which is 3466 kills. If you don't have a card drop before then your luck is less than average.

this is a special skill from a novice... they have like in the anime.. you only need a sword.. nor just skills.. only be there, see the monster die and you get the card. Unfortunately this player here was more unlucky than the conventional, in anime was 1 gtb, here was 1480

Showcasing the grindy nature of RO...an MVP spawn was rare enough, and to have to got through that many kills to get it? For reference, in iRO, most MVPs spawn roughly once per hour somewhere every player has access to a known map. At 1254 kills to get 1 card, that is a drop every 52 days. Sure, certain Dead Branches, and the other one that definitely spawns MVPs make the occurrence of the monster higher, but that becomes hard to calculate. Still, that's a super low spawn rate for an entire player base. Simply put, anyone had certain MVP cards, they were known.

Yeah. Ragnarok had a lot of potential if they reworked card drop rates for MVP's but obviously made them a bit weaker and not just auto win overpowered. Ragnarok also had a lot of potential if the game was more about using skills at correct times instead of just spamming the same thing.
