Cool to see stuff in animation show how stuff is done or fixed any instead of hearing anyone chat and be lost cause it can get complexed for some or many who dont understand the person. so using a scenario gives a bigger idea of how stuff happens anytime.

7 billion people? That's the problem. Why does an unemployed 25 year old girl have 6 children in asia? Yes. its a bit more complex than just population but if poor people had just 1 child it would reduce poverty by about 2 billion people.

    • @WorldVisionAustralia

Hi Thomas, statistics show that lowering infant mortality rates will usually result in a subsequent reduction in the birth rate. We try to show that resources such as health clinics and clean water infrastructure improve young children’s chances of survival and form the foundation of our work within the Child Sponsorship program - for example, when a girl in the developing world receives seven or more years of education, she marries four years later and has 2.2 fewer children. -TimJ, World Vision Australia Team.

    • @Thomas-lw5th
      @Thomas-lw5th 7 років тому +1

Hi Tim. The worlds resources are not infinite. Population cannot go to 10 billion people. 3rd world countries such as Philippines don't have the resources to help half the people in the country not working but needing food and healthcare. People need to take responsibility for their own actions. If you cant afford to raise a kid then dont have 6 kids. It's against the law in Australia for me to buy 6 horses and let them starve to death. Poor people are generally lazy too. I go to many 3rd world countries and see it first hand. Giving money to the poor will never solve the problem. Population growth is out of control on this planet. Reduce population = reduce poverty.

Hi Thomas - did you read my first reply to you? We know is that there is enough food in the world to feed everyone. We are aware that control over resources and income is based on military, political and economic power that the minority hold. Those without equal fortune get left behind. This is precisely why we partnering with communities in Ethiopia and around the world with a technique called FMNR (Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration). We have had significant improvement in agricultural productivity and reduction the incidence of droughts, floods and landslides. Read more at: wva.me/drought_fmnr_ethiopia -TimJ, World Vision Team.

Hi KK Tam, we believe it is in everyone's benefit for communities to have basic needs met and ultimately for communities to become self-sufficient. To accomplish this we give a hand up, not a handout by empowering them with the right knowledge, skills and resources to improve their opportunities in life. In consultation with the community, priorities are identified, a project designed and a budget prepared and carried out. This process normally takes 10 - 15 years and is funded through our Child Sponsorship program. -Tim, WVA Team.

This video is flat out misleading on the subject of poverty. Poverty comes from lack of access. It doesn't matter where you are from or live. Controlling anyone's ability to do all the things needed to profit...causes poverty. Rappers make it from the hood, they didn't need to move to the suburbs. Learning the craft and their style plus some exposure, awakes their buyers who likes the songs. Who control the system controls the opportunities and that creates poverty.

Ok now let me tell you all what causes world poverty: it’s capitalism, work for a tiny wage or starve. USA has been thinking it’s the capitalist system that seems to “end poverty” (just a little), for a few people, but that’s because they did everything wrong, by building too many houses, roads, vehicles, factories, farms (in 1900 there were 30 million farmers (and almost no one knew how to farm), but today there are 1 million farmers (struggling to survive against huge conglomerate corporations), because USA is a huge land mass, and there were very few people there in 1900, at only 76,212,168! China is also huge but in 1900 they already had almost 1 Billion people! Someone should draw those numbers on a chart, please.
1790 less than 4 million USA
1850 a little bit more than 23 million
    1900 a little more than 76 million
2010 USA has only 308,745,538, still very far from 1 billion; it’s even far from half a billion people!
And around 50 million immigrated to USA from 1850 to 1950.
And what America saw was that “the wage ends poverty” because of the new factories etc, building weapons, vehicles etc. But today in 2021 the capitalists are eliminating all jobs with automation, so only now can we see the wage is an oppressively bad system.
Because what USA should have built was only multipurpose Tower cities connected to maglev Trains. So now that it’s obvious we NEED to quickly start building only T&T to save lives of people and animals, and everyone can work part time doing just that, plus cleaning up the Earth, and recycling everything as much as possible. Just eliminating vehicles will give us clean AIR like we saw when the pandemic started. Some say it’s already too late to save the Earth, but I prefer to think it’s not too late.
Oh yes, now we should force the rich people to redistribute money equally worldwide ASAP to end poverty and crimes and wars, because capitalists are eliminating all jobs with automation. Their wage system was wrong all along, and we now see exactly how wrong it was to give all the money to a few rich people!

utter garbage. I grew up in south Africa dirt poor and an orphan and now I'm relatively wealthy. What keeps people poor is purely their culture and thinking. My mother had two kids before she died, some friends had 5 to 6 siblings. The difference is having so many kids means more mouths to feed, higher stress levels causing poor environments for those kids. Who when at age have more kids instead of finding a way to go to college. You then have a system of breeding and working for peanuts because you aren't educating yourself. oh and did I mention im not white, grew up in apartheid and lived in an area where my neighbor was an oil refinery, meaning my mum and a lot of people I knew died of cancer.

Hi Oren, thank you for sharing your story and how you feel. We understand that education is crucial for both parents and children in the communities we partner with and that it is not possible to sustain child wellbeing without a healthy natural environment. Statistics show that lowering infant mortality rates will usually result in a subsequent reduction in the birth rate. Resources such as health clinics and clean water infrastructure improve young children’s chances of survival and alongside education, forms the foundation of our work within the Child Sponsorship program. In our programs, we also support the healthy spacing and timing of pregnancy to help women and families delay or space their pregnancies to achieve the healthiest outcomes for them. This means that women are given the tools (education and contraception) to delay and prevent pregnancy. On the flip side women and their families are also supported when they make the decision to have children and World Vision works to make sure women can stay healthy throughout their pregnancy and birth through ante-natal and post-natal care. -Tim, WVA Team.
