1st apartment: walls are bad, someone's sewage pipe is going through your bedroom, no windows lack ventilation.

As a New Yorker these units are are trash for that price. If you’re moving to New York for the first time please understand that actually living in Manhattan ain’t it. Look into Brooklyn and Queens, for $3000 you could find way bigger units in safe lively neighborhoods only 15-20 mins from the city by subway. Trust me the anxiety that city brings will get to you eventually. You’re gonna want to look into more chill areas to sleep at.

Here in my country it's illegal to have a 'bedroom' without a window. It would feel too much like a box anyways. But at least they're nice.
Here most of the apartments are old and outdated. (with the exception of luxury buildings) They upgrade with cheap items too, so I appreciate when I see nice apartments. Even if the price is insane, if someone can move in they can rest easy knowing that the apartment isn't going to have problems for a long time.
It's tough to try and buy an apartment in NYC which already has the highest rent in the country :(

far be it for me how to tell anyone to live their life, however, you are far to hung up on living in New York, for someone so bothered about spending money it seems daft so spend so much living in one of the worlds most exspensive cities. I'm pretty sure with how life is now you could easily do what you're doing anywhere.

And here I thought my apartment was small. My place can fit each of those apartments and still have some room left for a shoe room lol AND I pay 1000 bucks. You gotta come to Brooklyn. At least to the bushwick area if you want a cheaper and more spacious apartment. Renovated etc. or to greenpoint/Williamsburg if you wanna be closer to the city.

i rented an apartment from cash jordan's agency. apartment had mice and a piece of garbage human as a landlord. better of hiring a broker from a bigger agency.
