From what i've heard it seems as though this song is actually about Calli's feelings regarding having to leave her old crew behind and going on without them. While they could no longer go to gigs because of the pandemic and had to leave the game for now she got to continue what she was doing through Hololive and made it big. She literally "Watched her heroes fade" and had to move on without them. That's why she chimes in with how she's blessed that she got it made and thus she doesn't get to be emotional about it. She made that choice herself. But despite that she does hope to see them again someday. Now I might be wrong on some details here and there or missed a few things out but that's the general gist from what i've seen so far.
People can interpret it differently depending on what they’re going through, although what matters is that it speaks to some people and gives a message they can relate to themselves especially people going through hard times.
@@dlontv Calli's old life was big in the underground rap scene in japan. In addition to putting stuff on youtube she spent a lot of time going to bars and clubs to perform with other artists
She has stated this in the past streams and on a podcast: that she was a underground rapper in “Underworldian” Japan “scene” a place that she admired and inspired her deeply. After a certain pandemic the many venues she once roared and cheered were forced to closed their doors and the many stary-eyed” rappers from that scene had to make a decision to hang up their dreams. A place she could have easily been in if she didn’t try to seize the opportunity to get more eyes and ears on her music by auditioning for Hololive, trading the underground for the limelight. Calli is overlooking a city steeped in memories and familiarity, but it is not the same. The place she once belonged is gone almost non-existent and so are the people she called ‘friend’ or ‘hero.’ As well as she isn’t the same person she once was back in ze day. She had stated on the Trashtaste podcast that she had auditioned for Hololive after overhearing some friends talking about the auditions and only did it as a “Hey, why not?” She didn’t expect to get in and thought “I thought my friends had a better shot than me.” Calli feels some guilt and undeserving-ness, but she is happy that she is where she is now a place well beyond what she expected. It’s a very beautiful song about transitions in ones life (well to me that’s what I took from this) I suppose since I’m in the midst of a huge transition/ almost pivotal, that this song cut really deep.
The literal perfect coincidental timing of Calli's release and the literal *_end credits of the literal end of an era of VTuber history_* just made end of a life ascend through the ranks of *_most emotional raps ever_* Not that there's any solid evidence of both being connected to each other, but the meaning within the song just fits perfectly in with the melancholy the past few days have made.
The Exact timing of the premier seems to have been quite intentional (not opening the waiting room for the premier until Coco's "free chat" waiting room closed, despite that pushing the opening a lot closer to the premier time than is usual, is a Very "Calli" thing to do), but beyond that any connection is probably more coincidence than anything. It's not the first of Calli's songs about her career that also fit Coco very well.
Perfect music to reminisce after Coco's Free Chat ended. I'm sure it wasn't intentional, but the timing of this getting released the same day was 👨🍳💋🤏
I love that no matter what style she decides to use she nails it every time. She transitions between her singing voice and the melodic rap seamlessly too.
when he mentions that he had a little bit of headache and a little tired DAMN BRO THAT'S THE PERFECT CONDITION TO LISTEN TO THIS SONG jk get well soon:)
Ayy this reminds me, you ever planning on doing another DJ DLonTV stream like the couple you did on your old channel listening to viewer submitted vtuber music? I really liked those even though I could only watch the VODs because of time zones, it felt like listening to an old school radio show so it was great to put on while working and stuff. Also you gotta check Polka's original song Everblue my man its F I R E
That sax tho....
Remember to re sub to me! I used to have 44k subs before i got terminated. Please continue in helping me regrow! Thanks!
Makes the entire song have an almost Jazz quality to it.
Easily one of her best songs so far for me, she was always good at sining, but man did she improve.
Yeah she's been taking singing lessons so she could have more options in her songs and it really shows
Agreed man... By far, its either this or live again but im leaning more towards this

Dang I never really knew she had an old squad always thought she was solo
Pretty much the same interpretation I had.
If you know her old life, it makes so much sense. Not that I encourage spreading that.

This is actually very reminiscent of her "old" catalog, she's good at these vibe-y lyric filled songs.
I swear every drummer I know secretly loves the sax
Lolll also either the piano or synth

She’s gotten way better at that yeah
Thank you for reacting to this! I always look forward to Calli's songs and I always love to see people's reaction to her songs
i cant believe im a month late on this song man. still such an amazing song.
Calli's new songs really remind me of my old jams I'd listen to on the radio years ago on my shitty beats solo 2
Lol nice
the song is about abandoning her old underground rapper career when she decided to go with. hololive
Ah I can see that
Seems more about when she moved from USA to Japan, where she joined one of the producer she admired (Kokoro).
There are multiple interpretations, no single one
@@caretakerITA Nah, that's 'C U'. This song's definitely more about the events of 2020 than 2017
The more I listen to this song, the more certain I become that it's a goodbye to her past identity.
i think the genre of songs like [end of a life] is called blue pop or something similar
when he mentions that he had a little bit of headache and a little tired
DAMN BRO THAT'S THE PERFECT CONDITION TO LISTEN TO THIS SONG

This song made me feel... so much... Calli's music is too good!!!!!
I see that WMU hat in the background, didn't think I'd find a hololive fan who lives in the same city! You got a subscription from me.
I don’t live there anymore, but I’m not far away. But yeah I graduated last semester
I feel this might be a song about Callie's past and present just a hunch though
This song hit me hard. Gave me some things to think about.

The sax spits vibe
I hear the indonesian kriss lofi bgm in the intro... are my ears lying? lol
Did you see her stream breaking down the lyrics?
Yo please react to Akuma Nihmune edgy toxic it's one of my favorite songs
Perhaps
Plot twist, Calli was the one on sax.
I knew she could do it
This song makes me thinks about so many things I can’t explain
I feel you there
Hope you react to Hearts by Towa
Is that new
@@dlontv Yes it is. It's " Niki" again 🔥🔥❤️

Even if i did i probably wouldnt have gotten it right without the help of the comment section i guess, glad you liked the reaction tho!
