Just bought one at FB garage sale sight.. Put hardware cloth in bottom.. Got the chair carrier.. Handle folding chairs and drop net.. Handle extension because it's too low and the 5 gallon bucket riser.... Don't leave home without it!!! Glad to have you back Jack!
On a budget, a Big Foot Panel wagon from Harbor Freight works great for a beach cart. You can screw plastic rod holders right to the wooden panel sides. You can catch them on sale for $49 or full price $69. Have less than $100 in the whole thing. It is way better than the cart you buy at Walmart that tip over so easy. It's pretty stable.
I really like your philosophy when it comes to outfitting your equipment. I very seldom buy stuff new either. Ebay is my "go to" source for a lot of my stuff. I can afford to buy stuff new, but when I was growing up I learned that used stuff will do the job just as well. And, it was a lot cheaper so I could acquire the stuff I needed and not break the bank. Thumbs up to you, Yak Motley!
Jack, you and I are birds of the same feather when it comes to making purchases, looking for bargains but stepping up and buying new for special items or when necessary. I'll share my quote with you, one of the few I've coined myself and you're welcome to use it if you want. Great video as usual Sir and i'm glad to you you achieving success and living the dream. I've lived by this motto most of my life and it allows me to do a lot of things I enjoy without spending beyond my means and living in financial stress. "Save money when you can. Spend money when you have to." Keep up these excellent videos, Sir. Not only are they enjoyable but you're also helping, teaching, and inspiring others.
My dad reinforced his cart so it could support more weight, he also changed the wheels, and more rod holders as well. My dads first cart he made it with my pedal go cart back in the late 80’s. We got tired of hand carrying our coolers and stuff back and forth off of the old Russell pier back in PC. Very good fishing investment. Cool video.
Should add a hitch to your bike. I have a place on 30a two blocks from the beach where I pull a full outfitted Hobie Compass straight down to the water with my 25 year old Trek. All you need is a Walmart bike rear rack, a 2x4, and some laying around hardware - just your style. I get folks taking pics when i head home, never wrecked. Building it would be great footage.
If you can adapt that cart to attach directly to your bike and your kayak to the cart, you would win the entire Internet for a whole year! Seriously, I find so much of my gear at thrift stores or second hand....my Stearns PFD, soft coolers, I actually found my wife a wet suit at Goodwill for $3.15! As always, thanks for sharing with us! Now, go get your paddle wet and your lines tight!
That's right , I have a set up for kayak, beach and pier . Just grab and go. The only thing that I move from set up to set up is rods. Great Video thank you.
Good morning Jack. I love your intro. Everytime I see it I crack up and my mood is set, usually for the whole day. There's nothing wrong in being frugal whenever possible. I usually get to the good stuff too late and have to spend the extra money on newer items. Many are the times I wished I'd had something like that. Congrats. Have a wonderful day. Stan
I purchased a Costco $50 soft sided, foldable cart for short excursions to sites w/my photography and drone gear. It also provides room to carry up to two large foldable soft sided chairs. Besides using a foldable cart to carry gear in, I can also use it to carry expensive gear out in the event of a vehicle breakdown (although I have a heavy duty Weather Guard truck box)... I like the idea of bringing a bike w/me & attaching the cart to the back of a bike and will investigate on how to tether them together (out here in the west, you never know)..
I built a little beach cart out of an old two wheeled wheelbarrow that my dad was going to throw away. I made my own “wheeleez” tires out of plywood and some big inner tubes! It works great. Just have to add some rod holders on it. I have about $50 in it.
I love 2nd hand equipment, its been tested and it cost a lot less than new! My #1 reason for a beach cart is my knee's can't deal with the strain. It's already hard enough just walking in sand, try lumping 50Lbs of gear. The cart makes it easy to bring everything in one pass so great score!
Love to see and hear the stories behind your Wheeling & Dealing... All of my gear was either used or close out specials... No need to pay retail... Shopping for a deal is Half the Fun!!!
Nice cart Yak. I like those things. I see guys pulling them around on the beach and the state pier when we are down at Gulf Shores for vacation. I'm with you on fishing line. If I can't get it done with braid or monofilament, or a combination of those 2, well...
been looking at buying a cart for the tampa/st pete bridges and beaches, now you have definitely sealed the deal. gonna look for a used one but even at retail its worth the investment 👍
Our beach cart was well worth the investment, but we beach fish all the time and carry a lot of cargo! Another great video Jack! Hope to run into you and Samantha some day!
Great Video love it you don't splurge.I tell a lot of people you don't really need expensive stuff to catch Big Fish. But definitely the cart it pays for itself worth the investment.
You should make a video of what else you could use or transform a beach kart into. Maybe folks dont fish or do the beach yet could totally utilize a device as such.
Hell yes yak been keeping track of last vidieo. Ole back been bringinging bunches if hits. I left at 500 now at 76000 6 days. Cant wait till next one. Great job and awesome content. Keep us watching out here in east milton.
I've got the larger version of that same cart, I think its the SR model. I use it mostly for pier fishing since the parking area is a half mile from the pier. I've had various carts in the past. I started with a modified folding shopping cart, to which I added a pair of larger wheels, but it was limited the size of the cooler. I then built one from PVC tubing using beach tires, that worked good but it was heavy and the beach tires didn't hold up on pavement or the boards of the pier. I then tried the larger Berkley cart, that was great but it didn't hold up for long and it wasn't very stable. I really liked the height though. The aluminum cart with the rubber tires works the best, but its still heavy, and the tires are too wide for a few gates, meaning I have to unload it and carry it sideways through the gate onto the pier. The wheels need to be underneath the cart, limiting the width to no more than 22". (A few piers here have huge iron gates to keep out the general public, you have to be a member to fish or pay to fish. Those gates are narrow, and a few are only 80" tall, which means rods standing in the cart won't pass through the doorway or gate. I added the front wheel to mine, it came with a front and rear leg. I also got mine used but I don't think it was used much. The first thing I did was to get it powder coated to prevent it from getting all white with corrosion in the salt air. Its now 6 years old and still looks new. A few guys who fish the piers have converted theirs to act as a trailer behind their bikes, they fabricated up a hitch that attaches to the seat post. The problem there is that the bike needs to be very stable when parked as it ends up supporting the front of the cart. I did find that on some piers, where there's no rod holders, using the cart's rod holders means I have to secure the cart in place. I learned that the hard way after a big fish dragged the cart into the side railing pretty hard the first day out. I was working a jig with one rod and had a whole live bait on the a larger rod in the cart and hooked a 5ft shark. I added a pair of drop rods to the cart which I can drop down through two tubes through the boards on the pier to anchor the cart. I plan to figure out a way to raise the cart up and narrow the axle a bit, at 6ft 3in tall, its just too low. Its fine for the cooler but if I'm digging through my tackle box, I have to bend over to reach it. I also added a liner to mine, its great for tossing small items in the bottom that you don't wish to loose, and don't with to put back in the tackle box without rinsing off first. I'm waiting for someone to come out with a tire that's not as heavy as those mower tires these come with. The tires are 75% of the weight. A pair of lighter tires, and maybe some lighter rims are in order. I also added the handle riser that they sell, but I welded mine in place at first, but have now just made a one piece taller handle. If I were to find a deal on an aluminum four wheel cart, (wagon style), that's set up with the wheels under the deck, I think I'd have the perfect cart.
Just got a cart with the poly wheels for an early birthday present. I should have gotten one a long time ago. Best investment ever if you surf or pier fish.
Nothing wrong with letting the other guy pay full price! I just bought a Native Titan Propel 13.5 off of letgo that had never been in the water and got it for barely over half price!! ( Bought a new Old Town top water PDL for my wife )the deals are out there! I have gotten a lot of inspiration and ideas from your videos. keep them coming and GO CLEMSON!!

JUST the video I've been looking for... I need a cart.. and yes,,, I just finished trudging to the beach,, three of us hauling chairs, buckets, bait, tackle boxes and rods... WHEW.. I need a cart. Hey Yak... what do you think of the ones similar to yours with 4 hard wide wheels.... thanks
Being that I only get to spend 1 week a year in Florida, I couldn't bring myself to pay for one. Luckily, I'm somewhat handy with an aluminum welder and built my own. Been using it for 6 years now and love it!
Build a bracket from the seat post on the bike to that handle on the cart. We had something like that for my daughter when she was a baby except it was like a baby play pen on wheels of sorts. Or just keep it simple. I tend to over complicate things.
I built a backpack out of PVC and a milk crate that I use most of the time. Light enough to grab and go and stops ke from bringing everything but the kitchen sink...which I might do if I had the room. Lol. I will do a video about it soon. Still thinking about the cart though. I just need more storage at my house. Boats, kayaks, etc take up all of the room and the garage is full of my wife's baby and the tools. Conundrum. Lol.
@@chrisz.9974 Thanks. It will be a couple of weeks because I am out of town for work (and missing fishing!!!) and won't be back until the 21st. I will try to get it out that week.

Beach tires on Amazon for $50 pair. For $50 more you can build the whole thing out of pvc.
Keith Rose that's what I did, it holds a tiny cooler for bait separate from large cooler for food and beer and holds 5 rods etc... 65.00 $ 🐟
