Creg list guy was cool he admitted he wasn't experience with axolotls and they kinda just out of control breeded one day but rather then flushing then or throwing them in a local lake to get rid of them he did what he had to do and took care of them even know they were in the proper conditions he used plastic bins air stones and what he had to give the babies a place to survive till he can find them homes to thrive on and that's sweet bc lots would of threw all 200 in the toilet rather then taking the time n space n money to let them live there lives n find a hopefully good forever home
Honestly, props to this guy. I’ve ended up in situations while stocking tanks I’ve gotten pregnant fish. He seemed nice and like the axolotls were in his best interest.
I agree!! The guys set up is actually nice, and you can tell he’s trying. My axolotls just laid eggs and I’m a little overwhelmed!! I wish I could get in touch with this guy and ask him how he set everything up!
Oml, I'm trying to get an axolotl or more and I don't know where to find any Axolotl sellers Where exactly does the guy live like in what state? I'm trying so hard to find one 😅
Planet Fishness the “color changing betta” you are referring to is a marble right? If so I don’t think that they have labels for them specifically as a “marble” or “color changing” and it’s just something you find. White and butterfly bettas tends to have the marble gene.
That you for being on my recommendations like a month ago because i only had one fish before in my life and now i know all the things i did wrong i wish i can get another fish bc now i know the right way to take care of them bc of you!
Yeah when I was like 5 I had a beta fish named princess and I kept her in a smol bowl with no filter and not the right food or tempature and now I feel bad
Ash, char, cinder, soot (things that are black) Diamond Orange(its the new black!) BATMAN! Toothless from how to train your dragon :) Good luck w these guys!
Axolotls can still feel pain, so dont. That's cruel. The only time you should do that is when they have a already broken limb. Mine was born without it, but God, stop saying that. If your arm would grow back, would you chop it off just for fun and grow through that pain? It also makes them more vulnerable to sickness and parasites. If you cut it off it will also mess with the slime coat if you grab them.
I love love love the set up! I would recommend to remove the sand, kind of like keeping a cat indoors. They probably WON'T be affected by the danger, but it doesn't hurt to remove the danger all together. Also, I would recommend an aerator so they don't have to keep going up for air.
7:57 That happens sometimes with my hob filter. I learned a trick where you take a turkey baster, move the inflow tube to the side, and use the baster to sort of squirt in water into the filter/ motor area. Someone might say not to do that, but it sort of wakes up the filter and helps it to suck up the water. Hasn’t failed me yet.
I mean tbh the guy isn’t an evil axolotl abuser. They all looked okay considering he didn’t want all those babies and he’s working on finding them homes. His husbandry could use a little work but really it wasn’t so bad. They even had hides and stuff for them.
You’re not really rescuing them..... you’re just adopting them. They weren’t dying or anything. Yeah some had limbs missing but that just happens. I know this video is older, but please don’t hype things up. I really like when UA-camrs just talk like actual people, rather than trying to talk loud and use eye catching words to grab the attention of people like toddlers and I’m sure many can agree with me. Still like your vids but just use this as advice in the future if you see this.
eeee axies shouldn't be kept on any kind of substrate until 5 inches or 5 months old. they 'inhale' sand t and arent big enough to be able to digest the sand safely
I rescued my axolotl From a somewhat abusive situation, where there was only one 75 gallon tank with about 17 earth toned axolotls and my one was the odd one out She was a young female amongst many males Today she's a really healthy albino (the tank conditions at the tank where horrible so I couldn't resist getting her out of the situation She had half a tail and 3 and a half leds She's very happy at her home I've now have had for 4 years And I may get a friend for her finally (FEMALE FREIND) so I'm exited 😊

Need hides and not a lot of light. I love Axolotl's i wanted one since I was 10yrs old(now 29yrs ). I got my male Ember 2 yrs ago and love him. I have 2 hides but Ember is blind(he was born with out his eyes). Good luck and I hope you enjoy your new Axolotl's!!
Hey just a tip for these guys cause I own a few of these for a few years now... first Is the substrate... best choice is to have some that they can’t put in their mouth cause when they get older and bigger they eat more and will get the substrate in their stomach if small enough causing them to eventually die. Ideal temperature is around 64 degrees F Please Have hiding places for them if you are going to use a light which I don’t recommend and if possible use a 75 gallon tank for these guys. Most places online will 20 gallons for one and add 10 gallons per axolotl but they get huge and it’s not enough room. I learned that the hard way and it ended up being expensive for everything to keep things under control such as using a canister filter, water chiller and not having a strong flow and keeping their gills looking amazing. Trust me it is amazing to watch them Also use bloodworms for food and anything that’s alive that don’t have bones. They grow a lot better with that diet. Any questions feel free to ask
