I really love the aesthetic of Venetian masks. There’s something so haunting and spookily beautiful, even trippy about them. Does this visual style/aesthetic have a name, or like is it inspired by some particular school and/or era of art?
Feel the exact same way! Not sure of the deep history, but the idea was to create a way to hide identities for all sorts of reasons from political to parties. Basically a way to put everyone on the same level. I do know the strange look and shape of the most famous masks comes from the plague doctors who wore them. They hoped the mask would keep them from getting the disease. I imagine it didn’t help at all!
That's awesome! Since visiting this studio, I have a couple already. I get attached to things when they have a great history/story behind them. Thanks for watching and the feedback!
@@joshuataft5541 glad you love them as well! Good news is they really aren’t that expensive. Of course, getting there to buy one is not often easy. I’ll be hoping you can visit one day! Thanks for watching and the feedback!🙌
I believe he told me that (or at least I know I asked) so let me take a look. It wasn’t anything special is what I remember. The paper, however, was by far the secret ingredient! Thanks for watching btw!
