A decade later, and it still holds up as epic.
Timeless. Been listening since early 90s. Saw them Glastonbury in 95 and other occasions. In uk. Obviously
The song of orbital made me from heavy metal fan to electronic music fan. Thanks!
Very big thanks!
I love you guys!
All 2000's
I have so many personal memories with their music in the background. Much Love. ❤
these guys should be canonized as saints
I saw these guys live in 1999 (Jacksonville, FL). Got to hang out with them backstage, Phil gave me a copy of 'Middle of Nowhere' that was just released and at that point, I had only heard 'In Sides' and boy, was I all in!!? That show changed my life and shifted my perspective on Electronic music (I.E. made me realize it would take a lot more hard work than I was putting in to achieve production even close to that.
I remember thinking "Jesus, these guys not only have the gear and know how to use it, but they are 10 steps ahead of the rest. I'd literally never heard those kinds of sounds, musical ideas and drums (Nowhere to Run was the song that knocked my d**k in the dirt | sorry for the colourful metaphor)
That was 21 yrs ago.
Do you know what's changed about my opinion since then?
Not a damn thing!!
They're still 10 steps ahead of the rest in terms of songwriting ideas and original melodies. But mostly with respect to their production (Sound Design and mixing abilities).
They may not be in the limelight as much anymore but as far as I'm concerned, it's like having Lennon & McCartney in retirement. They are, in my book at least, the Beatles of Electronic Music.
The Elder Statesmen and pioneers, still evolving and still very much pioneering.
I got a copy of Insides around '97. It led me down an electronic wormhole that I've never managed to escape from. What a trip, there is so much amazing electronica out there.
I was at that show. We were lucky to be there.
@@rupjweb yes we were
Well said!! And never seen them. This is a great set and so looking forward to seeing them at Glastonbury Festival this Summer 2024!!! 🎉👌🏼
thx for the setlist, i feel like not enuff people thank KEXP for what they doing. u can pretty much click on any of their vods and u know itll be quality music. the sound is always top notch and they give the artists all the freedom they desire. seems that way at least.
THANK YOU for giving me so much enojoyable and fresh music.
im hooked with KEXP
and i do thank their excellent taste in music
They get thanked enough with their 100k salaries
@@RadioNul It's not all about the money mate
@@AwesomeCully seems to be all about the money for the kexp djs
OMFG "Where Is It Going" - brilliant ...
MASTERS
to me "where is it going"" is amonst their best songs all time.
Yeah I think it’s my favourite Orbital track
Orbital is like home, when ever I encounter them I feel like I am at home
Oh good it’s not just me… ;)
It calms me when I feel homesick for a place that’s not here…💜
The musical genius is crowned by the awesomeness of the Showaddywaddy t-shirt!
Just fucking awesome, looking at the fog rolling in in Los Angeles and wishing I was in London having a pint of bitter. What an awesome performance from Orbital.
the masters!!
I love how they got all excited when he said he was gonna play kraftwerk right at the end. classic synth nerd reaction! love these guys! go orbital!
Amen!!
Man this is pure gold.
The Maestros. Wonderful to know they're still making great music.
Lords Of the Beat...........
Absolutely massive Orbital, another proof that years means nothing when talent speaks
The last song is really really really bloody good
you know they are good when they can produce music and play tetris on 3 ipads at the same time.
i remember seeing them live in 98. back in my early 20s :) big beat and progressive house was so good @ the turn of the century.
Just saw them a month ago in Edinburgh. FANTASTIC!
Their music never gets old. Seriously.
haven't heard orbital for ages... but now i must say - wau! they're awesome.
I had the pleasure of seeing these two back in 2001 at the Madrid Theater in Kansas City, MO. They were old-school back when I saw them. It was a small but beautiful venue--I got to stand close and watch them work their magic.
I gotta comment again, I dunno if Orbital will this these messages... Growing up I spent a lot of time listening to your albums, to this day they are still some of the most amazing pieces of art I have ever heard, and I still listen to them now.
Wow. Just wow.
They only got better after those years of inactivity.
so glad i stumbled on this. these two are elite!
One of my favorite musicians in my lifetime.
They've been great for SOOOOO long! 🙂 Much love.
I'm tearing up. Seattle, you lucky lucky people. I had no idea that Orbital was in the US to promote Wonky at the time. Ah, but life is so short and it has a habit of taking us away from the best bits. Glad I at least have YT here to experience this, albeit a bit late. Oh, but to tune in to this in Seattle live. Oh, what a dream.
***** You are AMAZING!
***** looks like per usual, the US won't be blessed with their presence.
***** That'd be a dream come true. 😵
First track "New France" going straight in my music collection!
love those guys glad your back would to see live on day.
Orbital wow they are the masters of synth music
Very good interview! Thanks
Man, Beelzebub sounds amazing. It's way better than the album version!

I seen em live more than any other band / music outfit, have fire eaten of stage with em at 94 and 95 Tribal Gatherings in UK and Glastonbury many times too..... love their music and also got some stuff not released too.....
coming back again and again
Please come back, Orbital!
This is celestial and beyond.
This is pretty litty
Awesome!
Perfect!
You are so cool guys!!!
🥳❤🕺🤸♂️🎆
Amazing.
Orbital are part of the Big 8 great electronic music artists along with Future Sound of London, Kraftwerk, Aphex Twin, Meat Beat Manifesto, Squarepusher, Prodigy and Underworld.
Metallurgist Music TV I'd go with that but would also add 808 State and The Chemical Brothers. Oh and Plaid.
I would also add 'The Orb' and may 'B12' :)
Daft Punk needs to be on that list & Rabbit in the Moon
All those acts are fucking great!
couldn't of said it better, best list of artists someone has said in a long time
whoa these guys did Halcyon On & On too, amazing
I love them!!!!

They released Live Mix Version of this... Insanely great!!!
The masters of electronic.
Blown away

On it 100 Percent, nice work guys!!
fuck...i can't even remember how many times I've listened to this since release...classic set boys!
They are so good, saw them at Roskilde Festival in '99 ... awesome .. Nice setup of 3 Ipads in row in this performance ..
Damn!!! I saw Severed Heads open for Orbital in Sydney. Crazy!
Looking forward to seeing you guys at The Park, Glastonbury festival this Summer 2024!!! 🎉👌🏼
Would love to go. I actually did in 95. But if u say u remember the 90s, u weren't partying hard enough.
I loved the late sixties, seventies but the ninties were an awesome period as well with the Seattle movement and also the electronic scene which I got introduced too by the videogame Wipeout on the Playstation.Orbital rule.
WipeOut opened a new world to me (and surely to many others). So many talents came together to make that "miracle". Glad it happened.
90s were great time for electronic music and electronic instruments ( digital and otherwise)..so much more original experimentation and innovation of styles ( genre) Glad to have been young and SF to witness the emergence to maturity and have impact.
dead eyes opened ... stone cold classic
good guys
Zola Jesus is the perfect guest vocalist for Orbital. Like a glove for the hand.

I prefer this version of New France to Wonky's album. The end of this piece is amazing and make me nostalgic, even sad.
Wish I would have gone to the Decibel Festival last year.
LONG LIVE ORB!❤ PLEASE KEEP DOING 🙏 YOUR THING! AMAZING 👏 🙀
Orbital the best
Very good 🙂 Cool
Holy fucking shit, YES!
