The Vast Majority of the metropolitan areas have most of their high-rises/skyscraper developments in their City Core. Buildings in the core are typically viewable from the Central Business District.
This video is a listing of the tallest US City Cores based on the number of buildings approximating 200ft and taller within 10miles of and including the Central Business District (CBD). "Approximating 200ft" defined as 190ft or greater. All buildings less than 190ft were excluded. Also, all temples, silos, steeples, mast and transmission towers were excluded.
The three zones that are typically delineated are:
Primary Zone (City Core)-
0-10miles from the CBD (CBD included )
Secondary Zone- 10-20miles from the CBD
Tertiary Zone- 20-30miles from the CBD
This Video only focuses on the primary zone (the city core). Other videos in the playlist will focus on development in secondary and tertiary zones. .
Few cites have significant development Outside of the Core. Miami and Dallas are notable exceptions. Both cities have large secondary cities included in their metropolitan area ; Miami/ Ft Lauderdale and Dallas/Ft Worth. Most of the development in Fort Worth is within 30-30.5miles from Dallas, therefore it is included in the data
This ranking does not look at the beauty /esthetics of the skyline, only the height of the buildings. - Розваги
Superb work.
Thank so much.. I appreciate the views!
Excellent work! A better gauge than some other lists by city limits since tourists won’t know the city limit’s boundaries and just view the city by plane window.
Thanks so much. I appreciate the views.
Second, I love my skyline Houston Texas
Thanks; I appreciate the views! Houston has a big spread !
It's big but pretty generic looking.
@@TheSkylineKing Most definitely!
Omg! How ATLANTA impressively powers her way to number 4! The city’s skylines deceptively hides its massive skyscraper presence !!!
thanks for viewing!
It's too spread out, si it doesn't look that impressive, a cluster here, a cluster there.
I’m not surprised that ATL is number 4 because it has skyscrapers everywhere and in random places!
Thanks for viewing.. When we started the process of looking at more specific details of each skyline we reasoned that Atlanta should certainly be at least in the top 10 US Skyline.. there were quite a few surprises that really places ATL solidly at 4th or 5th in terms of US Skylines .. ATL’s primary core is 3rd in the US in terms of # buildings in the 300-399ft range ; 4th in terms of # buildings in the 200-299ft range; and currently 5th (soon to be 4th)in terms of # buildings in the 400-499ft range. ATL needs just a few more buildings in the 500-599ft and 600-699ft range
It would be more impressive if they were all clustered together. I like Atlanta, but it doesn't have a walkable downtown.
@@markrichards6863 I walk downtown all the time .
@@terrencewilliams5209 Atlanta has a fragmented core. You can around in the various parts, but the parts are separated. It results from poor urban planning. Also, metro Atlanta is extremely spread out. I happen to prefer more densely populated urban centers. I've lived in Boston and SF, where we walked to everything, now live in NYC, which is very pedestrian oriented. I enjoy Atlanta when I'm there, but it's not a place where you can forget about your car.
First , I love my skyline Dallas Texas
Thanks for viewing ! Dallas skyline lights up very nicely.
I think Dallas skyline punches way below its weight, for a metro area that large.
@@markrichards6863 Nah. I disagree. Dallas has built a lot of highrises in Uptown.
Atlanta 3 biggest
From NYC, Atlanta has a cute skyline.
Thanks for viewing!
