Finaly completed my upgraded today.... has come out well and happy..... I had a few small issues with the pacth lead as wasnt sure on a few connections however a little google and finaly there..... Thanks for your videa as this really helped me out.... Cheers.
Hey buddy, well done on your radio change, glad you like it. Not a fan of these screens that stick out but each to their own, great explanation and instructional video though brother 👍🏻
Honestly, with the way most of the dash kits require a standard double din to be inset and angled away from the driver, the screen has a horrible amount of glare that makes them almost unusable in the daytime. This is a great option to overcome that problem. I just recently swapped over from a 7" flush mount to a 10.1" screen of a similar design and couldn't be happier with the results.
@Graham Green the stereo has been working perfect but it would have been a lot easier to just pay someone lol. Bet that cost a pretty penny though getting it done professionally!
@@ChillVanlife yes it was a bit costly as I had a rear view camera fitted also the company I use also fitted a 240 hook up and a leisure battery 12v system and a few other bits as I’m not very DIY orientated as I’m trying to do mine into a micro camper I’ve been impressed with people like yourself who have done it yourself I just wish I could do what you manage to do RESPECT KRO
I am doing the same thing. I can't find the correct harness connector as you didn't leave the link for it. Can you share that please ?Thanks and definitely a great job.
@BillyFitz15 I bought the fascia and all the harnesses as a full kit so I don't really have a link. In the video there is details of the shop and a discount code so if you contact them I'm sure they will supply the harness separate and sort you out a price. Sorry I can't give you a link. Thanks for commenting and hope you.get it sorted. 👍👍👍
@basitalidogar this is the link to the stereo. I've had it a few years now and it is still awesome. amzn.to/3vuFwYC Now the fascia I got from the shop in the video. I saw all the cheap Chinese ones but you have to keep the top screen and you need the sub loom so you would be better talking to a shop who knows there stuff. Or risking the Chinese ones but make sure you get the one that keeps the top screen. This one looks like you lose the top screen, amzn.to/3HbGzPO But you need to run everything through that.
Just for my own understanding. Why would the fascia with the closed top compartment not work? Is it obliged to keep the small screen connected? I'm looking into doing something similar to what you did
@PJ Leeds, sorry to not get in touch sooner. The kit that I bought is no longer available so I cant really recommend one noe without randomly just guessing. Use Amazon and just check out the reviews, you will find a good one.
@@roymorris7810 I got the fascia from the shop in the video. There is a link in the description, I imagine they do mail order. They sorted out all the cables and bits I needed.
I hate the factory dash controls and radio. I am a tall person and have to reach to much to get to the stereo controls. Often results in my activating the hazards. Lol This stick out radio looks like a good solution to get it that much closer to the driver.
@TurboFlush this Sony can be mounted as close or far away as possible. I have it set as far back as possible to hide the little screen behind but it could be bought forward about 10 cm if I remember right. I highly rate it to be honest, I would use this again in another van for sure. 😁
Mr Noisy. Don't think so, have to plug in. It has a hdmi in so cam plug fire stick into it and stuff like that. I can play UA-cam through it on android auto.
Hey I love what you have done. I want to do the update to my van although I have a quandary. I don’t want to cover my colour screen if it has useful information on it, but equally I don’t want the screen on display if it is blank or the info is pointless. Have you determined what the screen is doing since you completed the install? Thanks for the great vid. Steve
@Steve Cavill the screen is black and white and it does have a display on it but most of the time it just says preset. and has a time on it which is wrong. you really cant see it thought without really peering round the back.
Great job, looks awesome! Brave man, pulling those panels off like that 😄Looked like a bit of a palaver but I remember when I fitted a reverse cam and there was no info...I had to work it all out myself, so I know how tricky it is without instructions! Quick question, do the parking sensors still work, and does the parking display show up on the new screen? I was going to change my screen, but I didn't want to lose the parking display (I have front and rear parking sensors)...that was the only thing that I couldn't figure out, how to get the sensors to show up on a new screen, so I never ended up doing the upgrade.
@Man on the Outside Hey mate, my stereo is the sync one system so it's completely different to yours. I don't have any of the ford camera or sensors I'm afraid. This new stereo can take a reversing camera and the top screen on mine still works but I don't know if yours would work I'm afraid. I've had that stereo off about 10 times now just getting it all finished so I can do them well fast now lol. Keep making them vids mate, and I though someone had stolen your vids. Found another channel but I guess it's yours 😁
Ford Transit Connect Camper - Amazing videos showing the installation - i have ordered one and hopefully it arrives today. I have still not decided on a head unit as of yet however the one you have looks to be a great option as you have a nice single din pocket for the device etc.. Just a quick question did you look at any other brands including unbranded head units?? I am hearing mixed reviews so unsure which one to go with.. Well done
@Si Prior for a long time I was looking at eBay fascias and wanted to get a cheap 10 inch Tesla style but everyone I spoke to said about how slow they were, to little ram and really buggy. So a friend had bought the Sony and really rated it and I will too. It is wicked,.it fits real nice and it works very well. If I changed the van then I would fit another straight away.
@@ChillVanlife Cheers for the update - I think i will go for the same as yours as must admit looks really good.. Did you change the front speakers also?? cheers
@Si Prior the rest of it is just stock. At some point I would like to do something with the speakers and a sub but that is on the back burner for now. I want to get the body kit sorted first.
hi iv got a 2016 connect iv got no CD player only radio would what you taken out would that fit straight in my van also would the plug in be in place to fit a CD player cheers bro

Hi , I did my can same today but I’ve got no sound . It’s only tweeters and sounds quiet and tinny Any clues why that would be ? Cheers

@NSV Mine is a 2015 so I think the stereo is called a sync 1. Yours would be the newer, I think sync 2.
That’s actually the same as my 2017 so it might just be a trim model thing
is that a desiel?
