These comments make me happy. I went to their concert two days ago and I saw many lgbt+ couples and it just felt like such a safe place. I'm your basic cishet dude but I love seeing people being able to be themselves freely with nobody there to judge them, quite the opposite really ♥ god I love them and everything they stand for
Pleasee thay were critise for kissing each other in cheeks when they won an award for uh-oh then soyeon here really said "oh you want gay?" Then wrote and released "oh my god" HAHAHAHA the gays are loving thisss HAHAHAHHA😂
As someone who is not only part of the LGBT+ community, but also someone who really struggled with this as i grew up in a strict christian household, "oh my god" and the MV mean so very much to me because it makes me feel seen and understood. I adore her for making this.
Soyeon is credited in the lyrics, music production and arrangement for most of (G)I-dle's songs, and has written and produced songs for other artists as well.
As someone who seldom leaves a comment I HAVE to say how iconic it was for Soyeon and IDLE to release this title track and English version of Oh My God after they received many homophobic comments on their face kissing (there were SO MANY kissing…) behaviors on their Uh-Oh encore performance 🤣🤣🤣
- Great observation about the dancers being in front of them, like obsessed protectors. - I also like that you pointed out that the backup dancers were really part of the choreo. It makes me really dislike the term "backup" dancers. So I'm gonna try to not call them that anymore, but just refer to them as "the dancers". - Oh lol 😂 I'm writing this while watching and I'm now at the part where you draw the same conclusion 😂 - "They don't pull any punches with their concepts". I 100% agree with what you are trying to say here, but I'm pretty sure they are still pulling some punches. But step by step they are pushing the boundaries fir sure.
I love your album reactions! Reminder: When you do the "I Love" album, you want to listen to the songs in reverse order... (Start with "Dark, X-file" then "Sculpture", etc...)
THANK YOU FOR CONTINUING YOUR REACTION TO IDLE'S DISCOGRAPHY Like honestly, I loovvee your reactions to idle and I waitttt patiently for your reactions
With this album in particular, many people got the distributions wrong, specially Maybe, I remember back then when this was released everyone thought Shuhua had no lines in that song until they sang it on their online concert
Hi Lauren, love your reactions. Since you're interested in the DP videos, I suggest you check out Lisa's "Youth with You" mentoring gig to see just how seriously top idols take choreography. Lisa Mentor says flatly you have to be tough on trainees to get the moves right otherwise they'll just keep doing the wrong thing, and she has an incredible eye for movement. She's watching seven people at once and picks up the slightest mistake one of them will make then stops everyone to go out and correct them by walking through the moves with them until they get it right. A lot of the black reactors who've watched her say she may be tough, but all of them that were in sports (a lot of them, it turns out) say she's not doing anything their coaches didn't do with them and it's just how you get better. Even harder on people is Soyeon, who bluntly tells someone when they're bad and not putting energy into something. She even had the brass to chew out the audience on one show. Someone got voted to go on and Soyeon called out the audience saying they were letting liking someone get in the way of accurately judging their performance and she was genuinely pissed about it. Trust me, you don't want to get Mom mad at you...
I 'm very like your reacting cause of your delicate details of #GIDlE song lyrics, music, choreography and I'm very like that you see they honest encourage to do to the community that's different from regular by no fear.
12:52 btw this part is not shuhua this is soojin 13:00 and this is for Minnie not soojin 13:10 this part is for shuhua not Minnie The person didn't k os that i think
Insane to see how wrong these color coded lyrics were. Like... in Luv U Minnie, Shuhua and Soojin barely were rightly attributed to their parts. "Saranghae" was always said by Soojin and not Shuhua. The almost spoken part after the first chorus is Shuhua and not Minnie...
OK. So my interpretation is that Oh My God, Luv U, and Maybe are all about the same relationship. And that it is actually a HEALTHY relationship -- but the narrator is suffering from internalized homophobia and doesn't want to accept it. While her incredibly devoted partner is swearing up and down that she's committed and can't understand why the narrator keeps pulling away and saying that it's bad. Thse songs are so good. See also "Put it Straight" and "Give Me Your", which... well, I personally think they're telling the story of the same relationship from the other side. It's just one interpretation, and Soyeon has said she wants her songs to be open to interpretation. But anyway that's mine.
yes as a lesbian kpop fan it meant the world when i heard oh my god i felt recognized by one of my fav groups

In the song Maybe , some of the lyrics attributed to Soyeon are actually Shuhua singing them. * Every line that begins “ ireohge…” is actually Shuhua.
