"Wife" yeh, it was banned from a couple of comeback show stages. Also... there are no CC-lyrics and they don't lipsync because a "wife" is meant to be silent. They lipsync at the end when they say "I don't want to (be a) wife". I think that the wig/baggy clothes are sort of the "wife" uniform. Their shirts also say "wife" on the front. I think that the sameness of the uniform means that becoming a (traditional) "wife" causes you to lose your individuality.
It's because the lyrics are sexual as hell. I compare it to WAP. Just a Soyeon Korean take on how explicit a song can be without saying anything ACTUALLY explicit though a lot of Koreans listening will get it. Kids watch the music shows after school. It's def a 19+ song so I get it.
@@tkim2320its so ironic because a lot of idol groups have songs that are super suggestive anyways just hidden under metaphors and their songs are perfectly fine and not banned from comeback stages.

@@kikiwannabananawatermelonmango there are suggestive songs that are clearly suggestive to international listeners but go over the head of Korean listeners. This was the other way around. Most Koreans don't know sexual slang from abroad or idioms and such. We do have our own though in our own language. If they had just done the song in English, it would have been fine. If a guy says to someone, "Do you like how my cream tastes" it barely registers as sexual in Korea if it's in English. If it's said in Korean, everyone will understand what the meaning actually is. That's why most sexual innuendos will be sung in English vs Korean, in order to get airplay and performances.
Fun fact, courtesy of Minnie spilling the tea: Soyeon casually hitting E5s and a mixed F5/G5 like its no biggie was actually not supposed to happen. She wrote those intro lines to be delivered by the group's most technique-strong main vocalist, Miyeon, but she couldn't do it. Instead, the lines were passed to Minnie, the group's other main vocalist... who couldn't do it either. Soyeon then took it upon herself to deliver these high notes, and (likely) gave what was supposed to be her first rap section over to Minnie.
I never want to hear anyone try to tell me that Soyeon isn't an ace because she "can't sing" ever again.
Minnie honestly pulls of rapping so well. It's a shame they haven't used that more, especially in songs with 2 seperate or veeeery long rap parts.

I don't think you noticed that the main lyricist on "Vision" was Miyeon, making her debut as a lyricist for a group song.
In some ways this feels like an album that really showcases their skills. Rappers flex their vocals, vocalists flex their rapping. They have 2 entirely English songs that they wrote themselves. They sing yet more genres they have never sing before... they are amazing.

The 1.1 billion won (~USD 820,000) budget mentioned by SOYEON on Knowing Bros was only for the "Super Lady" music video, not the entire comeback budget.
And this budget pays for 600 people in this M/V. This is good for K-people in K-pop industry.
In my mind, the haters are gonna find something to hate no matter what, so it's kinda smart of Soyeon to just give the lazy bastards a low hanging fruit like English lyrics to focus on each time. Then they can just hate for their silly reason then move on. Plus, it protects her other members from criticism quite well.

!!!! REMEMBER THAT "I Love" ALBUM IS MEANT TO BE LISTENED TO IN REVERSE ORDER!!!! The first track is the last song you should listen to. Hope you see this comment!!! The reverse order is the way Soyeon has requested people to listen to it if they are going to listen straight through. ❤❤❤

i believe Soyeon mangles the english lines on her songs on purpose, maybe as a way to rile the usual suspects. Or maybe i see too much in this and it's only to have a certain sound or sonority. I don't know.

Honestly I prefer Soyeon's writing and arrangements but I'm also loving how the other girls are getting a chance to grow as well. 💜🔥
Also in Super Lady there are references to other ggs. Baddie for IVE, Fearless for LE Sserafim and Slay for Everglow. I think there are more but I noticed those right away. Oh and Savage for the Aespa!
And aside from I Never Die and I Love you can also check out their Japanese release which includes the Japanese version of some of their songs like Latata and Oh My God (both have their own version of mv) but also three Japanese songs “Light My Fire” “Tung-Tung” and “For you”. If you love Minnie’s songs you should definitely check out those masterpieces especially considering Minnie wrote them in Japanese
not sure what the budget for the mv was specifically, but soyeon said the budget for the comeback was 1.1bil won (around $820k usd)
MV alone was that number so we don't know what the full CB budget

Hmm, I ended up hearing the whole budget was around 836k usd? I may be wrong; I just saw many neverlands saying that was the estimated amount, but I cannot believe how much was spent.
I think it was around Easter 2021 that [the baseless] accusations on Soojin worsened, because of a certain actress' claims of being a victim.

Some extra info that might be interesting:
- Soyeon said the budget for Super Lady MV was 800k dollars
- Wife appeared on Korean News channel for the “controversial” lyrics and got banned from KBS because of it. The controversy might be because it’s obviously a satire of traditional wives and Korea has a huge anti-feminist culture, so they were pissed lol. But also because the Korean lyrics are full of sexual innuendos, a K-Nevie explained it on twitter and everyone was kinda shook because it’s apparently very straightforward, but I wasn’t all that surprised cause they always love to make everyone GAGGED 😂
Someone made a good point that KBS were fine with Kard's "Icky" so I think it has to be the feminism.
Wife was much more graphically sexual than Icky. Also, Kard generally performs at a later time than I-dle. The lyrics in question are the Korean lyrics and it's pretty sexual. Haha

Adding a few points I saw no one mentioning from an eastern pov:
1 The original title for fate is Korean and it’s called “I just hate being sick” which I interpreted as being lovesick. Also it was originally planned as the title track but they eventually went with super lady.
2 I don’t know about Korean but there’s a phrase in Chinese when you can call a really evil woman to have “the heart and guts of a snake or a scorpion” which roughly means a heart of stone. There must be similar phrases in Korean hence the snake and scorpion reference in the super lady mv. Also the scene where Minnie and Soyeon entangled around a sculpture is supposed to be snakes around Laocoon, the Trojan priest who tried to warn the soldiers against pulling the wooden horse filled with Greeks in and was punished by being strangled to death by snakes along with his two sons, a common theme in marble sculptures
3 Others have mentioned vision was co written by Miyeon and Minnie. It was also worth mentioning that the line “shiny crystal rose” (Miyeon’s name in Han means “a beautiful rose”) happened exactly at 1:31 which is Miyeon’s birthday 😊
4 I don’t want to spoil I Never Die too much but there’s a all rap song called My Bag where the chorus, sang by Soyeon, is “red five diamonds in my bag” (got mocked by haters badly as you can imagine) so you can see the reference in Rollie. Many also think that by saying “5 diamonds in my bag” Soyeon is also including Soojin 😢 (at the end of the tomboy mv they let out 6 heart-shaped balloons)
The world tour and seeing Beyoncé live definitely shaped this album 💕
I see everyone naming who the members represent in "SUPER LADY" and they are correct about everyone but shuhua. The accurate characters being represented are :

I loved how you got the details from the beginning, like the way in Wife they did NOT lip-sync anything (except the final "but I don't wanna wife") and the fact that they were all styled the same to make fun of the expectation of compliance and uniformity in being the perfect trophy wife.

vision was actually mostly written by miyeon ! the only parts miyeon didn't write was soyeon's rap and the english bits
This album isn't made for korean odience, is cleary done for be Worldwide odience and for a concert.. if not they don't have any motivation for put 2 song and half in english, and i freaking love it!

Vision when u play in the time lapse of "0:08" it sounded like Le Sserafim's EPBW
And Fate sounded like an anime intro/outro

So I was waiting to check out the B sides with you. And maybe it’s just the first listen but I REALLY like Doll. As a big Britney Spears fan, it reminds me of her songs, Mona Lisa. Which is a bit of a deep cut released as part of her blog series (pre-vlogging) with Kevin Federline. But ironically, the song was originally supposed to be in her lost album, The Original Doll.

This album should be listened backwards.... Starting from Wife, the 8th track to Super Lady the title..... There is an underlying storyline in this album....
No one lipsyncs at the beginning of “ wife” because ‘a wife should be seen and not heard.’ They only lip sync the part where they proclaim they aren’t going to do the “wife” Schtick.

Don't spread misinformation please. It doesn't look like it at ALL. Korean prison uniform for men and women are collared long sleeve button downs with long pants that taper slightly.
@@tkim2320 I didn't spread missinfo because I saw an explanation with pictures too.. just type "korean jail uniform" in Google and you'll see the colored uniforms.. it's similar to the greenish one that the girls were wearing 😊
