  • Finally got time for home office improvement - standing desk.
    To learn something new I decided to try veneering. First time was failure, second - quite ok. For glue up I used sprayable contact glue - if seemed simplest solution, as there is no need for clamps/ press.
    Tabletop: Walnut veneered MDF
    Legs: Swedstyle AERO 2.0 FLEX

    Вместо удобной мастерской гараж, вместо инструмента каменный топор и такой отличный результат! В столярке главное - руки и голова. Браво, отличная работа.

    What’s the router jig called that you used to route out the rectangle recessed on the underside? It would be great for me to use on reinforcing C channels on my tables

    Do you have any edge profile on the top? It looks like you have a roundover. If so, how did you achieve that with the veneer?

    I know it hasn't been THAT long but how has the veneer held up as a desk surface? Considering doing something similar but worried about the longevity/abuse!

    What is the purpose of the inserts in the corners?

    • @Dufffaaa93
      @Dufffaaa93 3 роки тому

      So he can slightly round the table corners without MDF showing out.

    • @garage1168
      @garage1168  3 роки тому +1

      At begining I was planing to make corners with bigger radius, so those inserts would be exposed instead mdf. Also after rounding veneer at corner bottoms these inserts are exposed.

    just curious - why those cuts in corners (with wood plug) where needed?

    • @garage1168
      @garage1168  3 роки тому +1

      At beginning there was a plan to make rounded corners, so these plugs would be exposed. But even after plan change these help not to expose mdf when veneer is sanded at corners.

  • @Restorationinc

    Из-за того, что тыл столешницы без шпона, её со временем выгнет в сторону лицевой части, а в остальном очень хорошая работа.

    I’m sorry I can’t even watch past the preview as soon as I saw you messing around cutting all that M.D.F with no vacuum/dust extraction, and then you show your arm covered in the dust like that’s funny or clever🤨

    • @garage1168
      @garage1168  3 роки тому +1

      Vacuum cleaner was not available at that time, but even with vac that circular saw makes too much dust to work without face mask.
