Slight mistake in the edit hopefully you don't find it to jarring, Here is the link to the router table and fence kit if you guys are interested in it bit.ly/4ak8zyi
I have had almost the same setup for over two years and am very happy with it. A few things to watch out for: My fence tends to be a millimeter crooked with the extra weight when I secure it for the table saw. Result: when sawing, the wood gets stuck between the fence and the raving knife. Now I always use a sliding caliper to measure whether the distance between the fence and the saw blade are equal in front and back. Furthermore, the vacuum hose gets stuck between the outlet opening of the fence and the extendable shelf support of the XC10. Solution: always extend the support completely. No other problems, and a Mafell router machine seems to be the perfect made for this setup. Works much better than a heavy Triton or a Bosch Pro I can tell of my own experience.
Hi John, Good addition to the workshop a combined mobile table saw and router table. Looks easy enough to fix together and with a NVR switch which is a must, the only thing now is to fill in the gap where the router use to be. As always a great video, catch you soon, take care
This is such a nice piece of kit that I considered getting this Bosch saw instead of a nice cast iron, induction motor driven, Axminster one. In the end I went for the Axminster one and don't regret it. Think I'll spend some time in the shop this weekend to make something similar
Nice set up. I've always admired that Sauter shop router setup. Having it on the table saw and mobile is a great addition. I noticed it looked like you had to tape the dust collection together. That's fairly common, I think. You could try the Dust collection adapter kit from Rockler tools maybe. Congrats on the 100k subscribers!
It’s improve your fence it looks and works great that’s a win but most of all it’s giving you a little extra space in the shop and that’s always a good thing cheers mate for showing us
John a great upgrade and as usual a great video. But please while drilling into metal put a pair of safety glasses on. Especially when installing a safety device.
Nice upgrade. Do you lose any rip capacity by adding the router table to the side of the table saw? I like that NVR switches are becoming more standard even on the tools themselves these days. Seems like something that should have been standardized decades ago, but good we're seeing more of it now. Dewalt, Bosch and Milwaukee are starting to put NVR switches on most of their newer power tools. Just makes good sense. Now, if everyone could standardized soft starts and stop brakes instead of those being marketing and selling features that would be awesome. Rock on. Can't wait to see the upgrades in action and of course the work bench rebuild.
That looks strangely like a router table insert I made for my Bosch GTS 10XC about 7-8 years ago. Biggest difference was I made a sliding tongue that went in to one of the rails rather than having to remove the extension table section.
First time ive seen my Bosch saw on youtube. But mine is the 4000. And im in the states. Will that kit work on an older saw?? It looks like it might!!! Thx for posting!
Congratulations on your 100k john. I have the bosch 10 xc brand new never used thinking of selling it. What's the sliding miter like to use , kind regards lee 👍
@JohnMcGrathManInShed your most welcome john the only thing about this saw is I can find a perfect fit mitre gauge all of the mitres are 19mm and this one is 16mm it's a bloody pain 😀 keep up with th great work love your chanel 👍
@@JohnMcGrathManInShed Oh please don´t, you will laugh, it´s barely even a router table, more of a plunge router with a bigger base turned upside down in a somewhat sketchy way :D
I'm not a fan of having the router in the side table of the table saw. It just doesn't work with my workflow. However, I do like this. It looks a lot more polished than some homemade DIY setups. I think you're going to like this.
It could be an issue but I have never had the need to go back and forth between the table saw and router table. Not saying it could never happen it just hasn't ever.
Hey John I hppe your keeping well... shed is looking fab... i am looking to get my hands on a small bench mounted planner thicknesser and bandsaw any recommendations on makes models and abilty to plane/cut/rip hardwoods... well done
Sounds like a great upgrade for your workshop. John where is the best place to buy them plugs, ideal for me being visually impaired great asset to a workshop. Any 18:33 ideas from England 18:23
What are you using for an out feed surface for your table saw ? , does the hight of the table saw match another work surface in your workshop ? ,all good if it does
OK, but this solution renders the left of the table saw half useless because you can't move the fence to the left side without removing the insert and the router, which in my opinion is pretty complicated, because it will need a new realignment when you install it back again. Personally, I would look for a more flexible solution, where it is easy to remove the insert without unscrewing the right of the table saw. So in my opinion, it solves one problem, but adds another because it reduces the flexibility of the table saw, in other words, this fix needs some fixing. I have a better solution, but not made a video about it yet.
It's not really an issue as you can't put the fence on the left of the blade with the extension out anyway. The extension needs to be all the way closed to have the full use of the left of the blade which doesn't gain anymore capacity than it being on the right side of the blade.
If an item was sent to you, for you to keep, then you were still paid. You were not handed liquid cash of any denomination, THAT isn't under dispute here. However, YOU STILL GAINED AN ASSET WITH A VALUE. That is how they paid you, why this should be labeled AS A PAID/SPONSORED VIDEO, and why nothing good you say about this product can be trusted. Do better.
If it was crap I would say so as I have done with many things I have been sent. Everything is clearly explained multiple times in the video. I'm am under no obligation to say anything about this product or even make a video about it. I think its a good product so I decided to make a video about it as the information could be useful to my subscribers, many of them have this table saw. You can take my word for it or not that's completely up to you.
@@JohnMcGrathManInShed And yet if you don't talk about it, if you don't show it in a good light, you'll be less likely to receive more of these gifts. Which is what destroys your credibility. This is a PAID advertisement(again paid with PRODUCT not money, but still PAID).

Congratulations on the 100k subs. Great bit of kit. Fantastic for small shops
Thanks 👍
Congrats on 100k sir. I cant wait for the blooper reel of you doing your walk-in "Okay guys..." shots. I imagine there are some good ones.

Well done John 100k congrats, keep up the great content.
Thanks, will do!
Nice piece of kit!👍
Its pretty good
It's available for dewalt too, but expensive. Great idea.
It's not cheap, but it's well made, and it's a lot less than an actual router table

You only lose a small bit with the fence and on.

Exactly what I did and no shimming required.

I'm not sure you would need to check the dimensions. Thanks for the comment 👍
Well done on 100k. Congrats.
Thank you!
I built something similar in my shop. Very functional for small shop.
That looks great.
Great news on your subscriber number - you need to get cracking on the next 100k. Your new mobile workstation is terrific.
Thank you very much!

It's not bad at all
John, looks like you've completed the last item before tackling your new bench!
I am removing all excuses for not starting on my new bench 😅

And wow that looks really solid and nimble. Have you seen my "router table"? 😄
I will check it out

Record power make good benchtop bandsaws for the money, for the planner I would look at something like the Jet jpt-8b or similar
How did you correct the ruler gauge issue on the tbale saw? Did you have to add a new adhesive ruler?
You will need to add a new ruler to suit

If you mean the NVR switch Paul, places like Axminster will have them in the UK
That's cool very nice 👍
What are you using for an out feed surface for your table saw ? , does the hight of the table saw match another work surface in your workshop ? ,all good if it does
It's exactly the same height as my workbench
Is it sturdy enough? I copied your table saw cart, I might copy this.
Its good and sturdy
