Lauren, I have had my Christmas tree up and decorated since November 1st. My 18 year old son adores Christmas , the lights and all of the decorations. Also, I am a huge homebody. I love being at home in my own space. Sometimes it takes way to much effort to get up , get dressed and leave the house. You do you. ❤

I know I know, but I miss the shiny quality street wrappers. When I was a kid, one Christmas me and my dad (he has no memory of this), cut out a Gary Glitter shape from cardboard and made clothes for him out of quality street wrappers…that didn’t age well 😧

Lauren - I haven't put my tree up yet. In my family we put the tree up on Christmas Eve (I am German - we celebrate on Christmas Eve)- I put the lights on the tree - then I decorate the tree with my children (we don't switch the lights on). Then we have coffee and Christmas Stollen with the hole family and with all the candles lit in the room. Then at around 5pm everyone leaves the room, I put the presents underneath the tree, I switch on the lights on the tree, I turn on Christmas music, I ring a bell and everyone comes in to enjoy the tree in full glam for the first time. THIS is Christmas to me. - I heard someone say on the internet lately "I think the time before Christmas is much more exciting than Christmas itself." Well - no wonder. If your do everything that is exciting before and the only thing different at Christmas is the gift giving then it loses its magic. - Lebkuchen and Stollen in September - come on!???

I was unaware that ladybird or lady beetle is the correct name for what we in North America call a ladybug. I will now refer to them as ladybirds forevermore. Yay for learning!

I've got a fir tree in the garden and the ladybirds love it for some reason 🐞🐞, they are always on it, so i bet it did come off your tree. When you got the grapes out, it got me thinking, because i am a child of the 80's i remember then there was a huge movement for "save the trees, don't make things out of paper or card, just save the trees", then we went to plastic and all went quiet, now we realise how bad plastic is and its now "kill some trees, kill some trees, stop the plastic" lol funny how things turn around in circles.

Lauren, have you ever considered moving your bed in front of the bay window? You'd have so much more living space for a sofa TV etc. where your bed currently is. In the US we call them lady bugs. There is also an invasive beetle that looks like a lady bug but is NOT!
